A room covered in tinsel and holiday lights. A brightly lit fire warms the room as bells and mistletoe hang here and there. Cutely crafted cards hang from a wall, all offering season's greetings. The desks face the frost like any class, the teacher's desk off to the side. Only...

A bare, naked pine stands, motionless. It smells like the forest, and even if made of FEAR, it seems like it too should match the bright festive colors of the room. Still, tiny gift boxes sit below it's branches. Presents, enough for one each.

-------

The sudden sound of those annoying bells could be heard down the hall- The class only titled 'Deck the Halls' devoid of any foreign professor. The clatter of hooves and the smell of peppermint hot chocolate slowly filled the room from the hallway as the bells got louder and louder until finally the door opened-

And a large rack hit the door frame first, ornaments clattering and jingling and a few blinking with green and red and gold light from the festively covered bone. "Blasted frames- hardly allowing any- Oh hello." A reindeer, eyes pink and yellow with a button nose and cheeks red from the morning chill. In the deer man's hands a striped mug, the other filled with ribbons and brightly colored paper. His outfit was rather unusual- A wool sweater with a pictures of holly and of candles that lit up, paired with what looked like pajama pants only a bit more fitting- Yoga pants. The look was finished with socks with holes for his hooves- socks that had pompoms on them.

"You're all here early! Good morning to you, good morning to you. Looks like we're all in our places, with bright shining- oh. Oh my." The professor(?) looked at the students, realizing they were not as joyful as he had been hoping for. "Well, I'm sure your faces will brighten right up with what I have in store for you all! Now where is, oh yes! There it is!" Setting his mug down, the reindeer went over to the professor's desk, pulling out a large red and white cooler. When opened- gingerbread scent filled the room.

"A snack is in order to start us off. I also have hot choco and marshmallows ready! The first rule of hosting any party is to have enough for all- seconds and thirds included."

Red cups passes around, hot chocolate and marshmallows in each. Small gingerbread cookies also passed around before- "Now that we have gotten that out of the way let me introduce myself. I am Spencer Prancer, though you may call me Professor Prancer. I am a editor in my native lands for 'SnowStyle like MyStyle' otherwise known as SnowStyles. We focus on holiday and season wear as well as at home furnishing and party hosting. I have been asked to help you all understand our culture so to speak. And in my mind, what better way then spending a few hours locked in the social awkwardness that could be a party where you only know a few people."

The tree was given a once over. "Now here we have a lovely evergreen ready for decoration. If you will all come forward and pick up a small gift- no rushing, I was sure to have the elves gathered enough for all."

WELCOME TO DECK THE HALLS

Your Professor is the Reindeer Spencer Prancer and he seems nice.

Fairly safe at the least, the tree isn't alive or attacking. For now, all you need to do is roll to see what size of gift you manage to get! But of course, students crowding around to snatch up a present is rather dangerous. Roll 1d20. Your results will have two effects.

Even: You get socked fairly hard, coming away with your present and you, a bit battered.
Odd: You navigate the swarm like a pro, nabbing your present and getting back to your seat with ease.

1-5: Small present (think 8x8x cool
6-10: Medium sized present (12x12x12)
11-15 Large present (20x20x20)
16-20: Small present (8x8x cool

Also enjoy your choco and cookies they are harmless*

*They honestly are harmless and made of FEAR you think he'd feed JOY to a bunch of Halloweeners really he's not stupid gosh.

Having only just arrived at Amityville that spring, Brenley hadn't yet had the pleasure of experiencing any of the strange occurrences that plagued the school around this time of year. While he'd certainly heard of Christmas Town and Jack's adventures there, he had never seen snow or tinsel, and he had definitely never made the acquaintance of any joyful creatures before they had descended upon the campus.

He prodded at one of the marshmallows in his cup, watching his peers scramble for the boxes under the needleless tree. The boil debated getting closer to grab a gift as well, at least until one of the boxes, deemed unworthy by his classmates, flew through the air and landed at his feet. Bren picked it up with his free hand and brushed it against his pants. Well, then. That was a thoroughly acceptable turn of events. He took a sip of his hot chocolate.

Ruth seemed to have improperly interpreted what the class title meant by Deck. Initially her mind had gone to naval vessels and where exactly the deck could be located but then it didn't really seem like something the school would require a cultural exchange teacher for. Spotting the tree and the presents, Ruth was no closer to figuring out how the halls were connected to boats.

And then came the instruction to take a present, apparently there were enough for every student who participates in the class. Huh. She waited and watched the first student have a go and saw them come back unscathed and with a present of their own. The paranoia agent, unfortunately, had lowered her guard and that was when she realized what the class meant.

Because she just got decked by the tree and how. She didn't scream or cry out as the pine needles struck her, she did grab at her cap to ensure it stayed on her head while her other hand snatched at a present. She was rather surprised she even got one, and it was a medium sized to boot. Despite the shiner she was sure forming, she felt pleased with her present and helped herself to some cookies. She didn't exactly eat them, just grabbed and stashed some in her pockets.

For later. Probably for some other purpose that didn't involve her consuming any.

The decoration was truly unique. Mutely and with pursed lips, TK took his sweet time taking in the room’s appearance—the tinsel, the colorful lights, the warm fire (which caused him to twist his mouth just so for a moment), scattered bells and cards and plants. But then he crinkled his nose when he smelled the distinct smell of what…pine? Did people often have bare pine trees in their rooms in Christmas? Peculiar. He mentally wrote it down as he walked further into the room, silently ducking to avoid the ornaments. He smiled politely. “Hello,” he answered back.

And as he walked away, he noted how cheery the professor was. Perhaps all of the guest lecturers were this cheery? From what little he knew of the foreign land, it seemed to match up. Unfortunately, as amiable as he could be, he was hardly cheery. A slight frown when he was handed a hot cup of dark liquid. TK would have preferred something colder, but oh well. He took a careful sip, but spilled most of it when someone bumped him from behind. It was time to get presents.

Unfortunately, TK was only a frail skeleton, and when he emerged out of the crowd with a small present looked rather battered. “Hmmm.” He frowned as he tried to reorganize his disheveled appearance.

Clara could only stare at the strange appearance of the professor as he walked into the class. Her eyes narrowed at the extremely niceness pf his behavior, which went so well with his sweater, pants, and socks. Surely, everything he was doing was just a facade. No one can be this kind, right?

She took a small nibble of the cookie only after cautiously watching some other students drink their chocolate...their food seemed safe? Maybe?

She kept giving the tree quick glances as the professor, who was apparently named Prancer, talked a bit, half expecting the tree to start attacking at any moment. But it didn't. When the time came for them to grab a present, she quickly slipped through between the rushing students and grabbed one before returning to her seat. She held it by the bow on top at arm's length away, turning it around and examining it.

The bright colors and lights and smells of peppermint and gingerbread were everywhere. There was no escaping them, unless the wolpertinger wanted to just hide in his dorm room for the next few weeks. Of course, as tempting as that was, he had also been informed that there were classes to take, and while he was not the most studious of students, he knew that it was important to attend and learn.

Even though he'd rather just go to the gym and fight.

Entering the classroom, he awaited the arrival of their instructor. Once the waiting was over with, he listened rather attentively, though stared quite openly at the strange looking creature that was to be teaching them. He had antlers, impressive looking ones that Mathias could only one day hope to achieve the size of, and even then it was quite impossible considering he was a quite smaller creature. The rest of it, however...was sort of disconcerting. Too bright. Too cheery. Too everything completely the opposite of what Mathias appreciated.

With instructions given, he darted forward with the rest, intent to grab himself a gift from under the tree, while keeping his gaze carefully averted and his hands tucked away so as not to look at or touch any of the ghouls who might be present.

Of course, without really looking at what he was getting himself into, the wolpertinger soon found himself being pushed around, and even elbowed in the stomach by the rush of students who went forward to get their own gifts. What he managed to grab and come away with was disappointingly small, and he grumbled and growled all the way back to his desk.

Obtained: One small gift.

Fire and warmth was always good. Fire and warmth would always attract a certain hellhound to your side, which was why Alecto found herself in yet another class. Her ears pressed against her head as she took in the unusual decorations. What isis all this…? [Weren’t you listening? This must be from Christmas.] (Horrible taste, if you ask me.) [I didn’t.] (Touchy.) And so the inner chatter continued as she confusedly took the hot drink from the professor, but happily downed it regardless. Even if it wasn’t a taste she’d been expecting. Her nose crinkled and her tongue lolled out briefly before she perked up. Presents?!

It wasn’t long before the demon had wormed her way into the crowd and walked away unscathed with a tiny present. It wasn’t big, but better than nothing.

Alice sniffed the air, smelling something cheerful. Was that supposed to happen?

.... Apparently there was sweets, and too much joyful ness, but apparently the warm feelings seemed to be getting onto her, whispering sweet words to lure her in with promise of food and presents. And somehow she had ended up in the room without noticing.

Some sort of announcement had been made, with students suddenly aiming for tree in the middle of the room. Alice had to try, for the reason, unknown, but maybe she'd learn something. She aimed for the tree, trying her best to get there in time to receive one of the presents from the tree.

With some sort of haggling between some of the students, she had gotten a hold of a medium sized present, but not without a few bumps and bruises.

Ithildin was still wearing every piece of clothing she owned in an effort to stay warm and when the professor offered up hot cocoa she didn't hesitate. The warmth in her hands was amazing and she spend a great deal of time just holding it. When everyone rushed to get a present, she just sat and waited, enjoying the cocoa and cookies and the reprieve they offered from the cold. Once the rush died down a little, she ducked in under someone's arm and picked a small present for herself. As she made her way back to her seat with the present tucked carefully under her arm, she paused to get a refill of the cocoa. "Thank you so much, professor, this is delicious!"

Something, or rather someone caught Prancer's eye.

Trotting over to the wolpertinger he pulled a bell off of his sweater and handed it to the young student.
"Bells on racks. It's very avant-garde this season."

Seussi
Mathias now has 1 small red bell. It gives the feeling that it might be able to jingle your jangles*.

Catinka was by nature small and quiet and unobtrusive, and so it was perhaps unsurprising that she was fairly trampled in her efforts to retrieve a box as instructed. This was not helped by the fact that she twice tripped over her own feet on the way back.

Tink looked up from squinting in bewilderment at her gift just in time to hear that bells were very avant-garde, and this made her beam appreciatively even though she didn't know what avant-garde meant, exactly. Her ears wiggled in excitement, sending her earrings jingling. She liked these Christmas people. These Christmas people and all their bells and their hooves.
