"Welcome to the ball. I am happy to welcome you into the family." Shadow spoke from a silver chair up near the stage. A band was playing soft music and people milled around, chatting with one another. The ballroom was decorated with holly and garland, along with Christmas lights strung around the room and wrapped around the balcony rails. The Silver chair was for the captain and was places at the head table. There were bronze chairs for the Vice Captains an crew. Gold chairs were positioned around red and green colored tables for the guests to sit at. The open floor space for dancing was filled with the members of the family as they arrived and conversed with one another.

Nita snuck through the door, tying not to alert any attention. She was terrible at parties but for her family, she had decided to show up. Nita stood close to a wall after she had gotten herself some punch. Someone must have spiked it because she was starting to feel the effects. Nita gently hummed along to the Christmas-themed music the band was playing and scanned the room for familiar faces.

"Ah Nita. Come up here my dear one." Shadow spoke softly. She had hoped to catch her friend at the ball and was excited to see her there. She had caught a glimpse of the other Vice captains, but would chat with them when she made her rounds.

Nita gave Shadow a sheepish grin. Nita was never one to like being in a place of attention. She shuffled over to Shadow, occasionally excusing herself when she bumped into someone. She almost fell flat on her face as she reached Shadow. Nita looked down to see what she had tripped on but had found nothing.
"Hello," Nita greeted her captain, "Be wary of the punch." she joked lightly.

Nita smiled brightly at Shadow.
"Wouldn't miss it," Nita said. She glanced around the room. It was starting to fill up.

Shadow smiled and searched the crowd for Fox. Her sister and Vice captain was nowhere to be seen and it agitated her. She tried to calm herself and smiled at nita. "I am glad. I know not everyone is a fan of parties."

Nita smiled sheepishly, blushing slightly. "Yeah, I'm not a huge party animal but this is one party I wouldn't miss. So, what's the plan for the night?"

"Well, there will be a dinner once everyone arrives and the doors are closed. Vice captains and crew will be seated up here by me. Then we shall dance, drink, and be merry!" She said with a light laugh. It was good to see the family all together. "Maybe a bit or caroling later too."

Nita laughed a little. She couldn't dance to save her life and her singing was just as bad. She didn't know if it was the punch she was drinking or the holiday mood affecting her, but Nita was ready to get down on the dance floor.
"Be ready for some glass to break when you hear my singing," Nita joked light-heartedly.

Xanes just got to the party and appollogises for being late. "This place is amazing." She said letting out a white smile

Shadow laughed and waved Xanes over. The ballroom had been decorated to perfection and it was beautiful. The doors were opened to the side so people could go out into the snow covered gardens. "Welcome Xanes. I am glad you could join us." Shadow teased lightly, hugging her sister gently.
