Does anyone else think they suck. Seriously I have the demo of metroid prime hunters for the DS and was playing with my bro and I can't move the stupid thing. You have to look around with the touchscreen using the stylist or thumbpad and shoot with a shoulder button and change weapons with another. But I can't use the thumbpad becuase my thumb won't reach the screen easy enough (darn my bro with his like 3-4inch thumb)and the stylist falls or slides around and it aggravates me sooo much.
anyone else feel the same way/opposite?

It seems too gimmicky to me. I know a lot of people that like it, and others that aren't sure.
It's a neat idea but I don't think it works too well with the whole portable thing. *shrugs* I think they may have a better idea with the Revolution controller, though in a way it may intimidate developers.

I don't have much of an opinion on it. But you see, I've never really been that big on portables anyway.

The stylus that comes with the DS sucks, so the easiest thing to do is go out and buy a larger stylus. I reccomend the ones for PDAs personally. And then your hand doesn't cramp up either. Everybody wins!

[The Touch screen's annoying and confusing]

I personally adore the touchscreen on the DS. Not only is it unique, but it allows for games that weren't possible before. I'd especially love to program for it, but I'm a tad to young to enter the industry. =/

I've never heard anyone complain about the screens being difficult to use... but it does make sense now that I think about it. I don't have any issues with Hunters though, as I find using the thumb strap (or my thumb) to be quite easy. It was a very strange control scheme at first, though. Took a little getting used to.

At first the Revolution controller really put me off, but now I've grown to love it and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm mostly excited about it because I'm also looking at this one from a programming point of view. The Revolution looks like it'd be a dream to program for, especially with such a strange controller. It opens up so many things to try... 3nodding

I dont own a DS, but I've played with them often enough so I know the touchscreen can hinder gameplay a little.
The stylus is pretty damned stupid, BUT I've seen breathable covers that slide over your finger with a point on the end so it eliminates having to find and pick up the stylus. The stylus is your finger!
It makes things a little easier.

Without a finger stylus, I can barely use it fluidly and effectively.

The touchscreen is a pretty cool and innovative idea, kudos to Nintendo for thinking it up. I just dont think the process has been refined enough yet. Give it time.

The PS3 controller design that Sony's put out looks really bad. It looks like a boomerang or something. It looks like it won't be comfortable in your hands at all.

Thats what people said about the 360 controller, and that thing is damned comfy.

We'll just have to see for ourselves when its released.

as far as the DS goes, for most games, because of the touch screen there are like 6 diffrent controller settings with the touch screen acting as another set of buttons....I dont' actualy own one but when I played metroid on it, I found one mode that makes is so that the non touch screen is your basic HUD for a shooter while the touch screen having various menu buttons and the radar on it....with that it was basicly using the bottom corners of the screen in the same way you would use R/L1 on a PS2...I personaly just ignore the stylis and us my thumbs as if it were a regular controler button....I found that in most cases the distance between the touch screen buttons and the regular phisical controls are about the same space appart as the standard D pad and 4 button lay out in relationship to the twin control sticks....yes I know I'm comparing it with a non nintendo system that isn't ment for portable use but if you think about it the similaritys are there as far as how the controls work (when combining both phisical and touch screen buttons)

also there is the fact that with a touch screen the buttons present on it can change from game to game giving it more posibility as to what you can do....for example on one game there may be buttons made for switchin inventory items that could be as many as say I donno maybe 15 seprate buttons while other games may not need that many and us the extra space for some kind of desplay instead of addition controls....theres also cases where a disply may be part of the controls....one game that includes this particular feature is the re-release of mario 64

Although it looks strange and also might look uncomfortable, it's actually made to be more ergonomical, so you know, you're not damaging your wrists when you play for long hours.

I had a gif showing that but it seems it won't upload. . . stare

Well whatever. I love the Dual Shock and all, I feel it's the best controller out there, but I even have to admit that after playing a game for a protracted length of time my wrists still hurt, perhaps the "boomerang" will solve that problem.

Hopefully. But I don't really find my wrists hurt that much after long periods of gaming. Maybe it'll be like "Dual Shock v2" or something...

Not a fan of a lot of new techy-stuff.
Honestly, I'd take the crappy graphics with real games over high-tech real-life no-real-interesting-anything anyday.
I think they need to stop making Mario sport games and start making games with some actual substance. All companies, not just Nintendo.
And honestly, if Nintendo doesn't do something awesome quick, I'm going to kill someone in the name of Jack Thompson. (But that's a bit off-topic)

Conclusion: I want some good games, not real-looking crap. Both would be great, but it seems if they spend all the money on making it beautiful, they spend no money on making it fun.

It takes a little getting used to, but I love the touch screen. For the first little while, I absolutely hated it. I was haveing a major pain in the a** time with the Hunters demo, but now I have every high score on the game. I think it's worth the short agravation period. That's just me though.

Well, I don't own a DS, but I really want one. I've played on my sister's and plenty of demos. It does take some getting used to (I was hoooorrible at first) but you can get really good at it
