Sly and mysterious, with a hankering for mischief and adventure. Isra is a restless soul, and is happiest on the road, experiencing sights new and old. She's extremely flirty, but commitment isn't something that interests her; she'd be damned before she allowed a man to run her life. Curious, she takes an interest in just about everything, but she'll be hard pressed to aid in anything, unless she believes she might benefit in somewhat from doing so. Her moral compass is slightly askew; she would never go as far as to murder in cold blood, but she takes smaller crimes lightly, such as theft. She knows right from wrong; she just chooses to ignore some 'rights', finding the 'wrongs' more amusing. Despite her lower status on the social pole, she can be haughty, enjoying all that glitters. She's largely unpredictable, and rarely loyal or trustworthy; she might make a promise, but if at any time keeping that promise isn't appealing, she will break it easily. She isn't cruel, but she isn't necessarily kind either; she simply lives for herself.
BIO
Isra was born a twin to an alcoholic father and a battered mother. Her father abandoned the family before Isra and her sister were born, and after eight years, their mother passed. Before her death, their mother was but a shell of a woman - beaten into silent submission by her husband before he left, and unable to reclaim that which he took from her - her strength, her dignity, her will to live. Isra gave little conscious thought to the father she never met, and despised her mother, before and after her death. She believed her mother weak - a woman who had allowed a man to control her, a woman who couldn't even see her own self worth, who cared more for a despicable man then she did her own children.
Isra didn't have the time to mourn her mother's passing - and that was if she had even cared enough. Although the same age, Isra, in her relationship with her twin, had always filled the role of "big sister". The girls were close, and understood one another in ways others couldn't. Araci was the softer of the two, and was genuinely devastated to lose their mother. Isra allowed Araci to mourn, and in the meantime, found ways to keep the two of them alive.
Isra had been itching to travel, but it took another seven years before she allowed herself to leave. At fifteen, Araci was working as an assistant to a new apothecary in town, and after some time, convinced Isra that then was the time to chase her own dreams. With her sister's assurance, Isra set out on the road, wandering aimlessly, living as she pleased.
Two years into her travels, she met a young, dashing pirate - Finn Locke. He had that same mischievous gleam in his eyes, that same hankering for adventure - despite her misgivings about commitment, Isra and her heart didn't stand a chance. She fell for him, fast, and she was under every impression that he felt the same. She thought, maybe, here was something, someone, she could devote herself to. Unfortunately, she was wrong.
One morning, she awoke to a note - a message haphazardly scrawled on a napkin for her to find. It was from Finn, briefly telling her that, while it had been fun, the time had come for him to leave. And that was it - no warning, no explanation, no sign that he had ever truly loved her or cared. Ashamed, betrayed, abandoned...Isra was devastated, and flew into a rage. She felt utterly humiliated, played for a fool, and she could not, would never, forgive him. Since then, she has pledged that she will be the death of Finn Locke.
