Alison loved to read in her downtime. Her mother had an entirely library back at the house. However, non of what was in the library was stuff she really cared to read. Most of what was in the library was history or how to guides.

She decided that while out and about for daily errands she would treat herself to a new book instead of going to the library. With those intentions she headed into the book store. The groceries could wait.

Malus enjoyed reading. Once in a while she would sit down and read a large novel, but most of the time she enjoyed devouring manga, and graphic novels mostly about magical girls and all that other awesome super powers magical saving the day action. She had just gotten her weekly allowance sort of thing and was off to buy the new manga that she wanted.

The red head skipped off the book store humming happily. Once she was inside she looked around at the new stock they had gotten to see if she could snag up anything cheep and to plan her next purchase.

Alison noticed the red head the moment she heard the bell dig. She watched her for a few moments. After noticing that the girl had twice the knowledge of of recent books she decided to head over and be friendly. If things went well enough she could ask her about books.

"Hello," she said cheerful as she came to stand beside the girl. "What are you reading?"

Malus looked up as she was approached by a girl that looked to her to be a mer-angel. "Hello!, Currently I'm reading "Knights of Dawn" which is about about a group of teens trying to save the world with their magical artifacts, and "Magical Maya" Who is a girl who is trying heal people from the curse caused by an evil wizard and turn them back to normal while fighting said villein." She grinned showing the other girl the mangas. "It looks like there is a new collection of fairy tales out too, I heard this one is a combination of legends from around the different worlds as well as a bunch from some of the greatest fairytale writers! " She bounced a bit in excitement.

"I'm thinking of getting a normal book too but i can't decide which of these three to get." She said gesturing to three books she had previously stacked next to each other. They were all about the same size, one was a dark blue, one was black and the other a sort of bronze.

Alison listened intently as the girl explained each book decidedly. From what she gathered she had never read any books from this genre. What she mostly read was romance and mystery. "They all sound pretty exciting."

She picked up the bronze book from the stack and read the summary on the back of the book. "What do you mean by normal?" She asked as she finished reading the summary on the back of the book.

"I mean books that have mostly words in it, the books i read most of the time tell the story though images and dialog, instead of writing letting your mind create the scene, they show you what's going on." She explained. "They are I love fantasy books, What is your favorite genre?" She asked staring at the books she was debating between, it was rare for her to stray out of the fantasy section. Although one of the books was a mix between fantasy and mystery.

"I love to curl up with a good romance novel," she sighed dreamily. "But mystery novels aren't that bad either. I have read a couple adventure and fantasy books but I don't know, just something about them," she smirked.

"Books with mostly pictures," she said curiously. "That almost sounds like a children's book. But you don't describe them as such. Can you please show me what you are talking about." She was more than mildly curious about these books.

"Afterwards I can show you one of my favorite romance novels."

"Romance? I can't say I've read much of that" She laughed, it would be fun to try something new. "Mystery's are fun! You get to see how well you pick up the clues and see if you can find the answer before it tells you!" That could be helpful with her observational skills, she should read more of them!

"A lot of people seem to say that, while there are manga for kids, there is a large selection of them aimed at teens and adults! And there are ones in every genre!" She grab Alison's hand and skipped over to the manga section. There the glossy coated books were displaced like all the other session in alphabetical order with the spine facing out, and once in a while a new one would have the cover showing, Oddly the cover appears to be on the back side of the book. "See there are a lot of them!" She scanned them quickly before pulling one off the shelf and offering to Alison. "I've heard that this one is a really good romance manga! Oh! They are usually read form right to left instead of left to right like normal books!" She informed the other girl. She had learned that the hard way, it had been a confusing first chapters before she had realized that.

"I'm usually not smart enough to guess before the end. I'm close but that doesn't count." She laughed.

She sometimes wondered how it felt to other people when they lead her around. After all 99 percent of the time she floated. Which she was happily doing now. She was extremely excited to learn about these types of books.

She looked over the glossy cover from back to front. The art on the cover was very well done, and pretty. The guys seemed a bit girly but that didn't deter her. "Right to left," she said as she opened the book.

Her eyes bugged out a bit. "They don't leave anything to imagination do they," she said as she blushed a little. She really thought that she put the book down and find something else a little less... However, she couldn't. She could quickly see why someone would like these books. They were beyond entertaining.

"I think I'll get this-," she paused trying to remember what they were called. "What did you call them again?" Whatever it was called it was certainly going behind her regular books or else in her underwear drawer.

Malus though it was a bit fun to drag Alison, usually she had to fight or drag them along, but she floated along easily and Malus didn't have to worry about her tripping trying to keep up.

While there were a few books that had white paper around them with a small sticker that said 18+ on them most of the section seemed child friendly, and Malus never really bothered to check out the white ones because her attention was all ways drawn in by the colorfully colors of the books. Plus she wasn't old enough.

"Manga" The preteen chirped cheerfully, before turning around and checking the shelf behind them to grab the manga's she was buying. "My name's Malus, its nice to met you." She said realizing that they hadn't had introductions yet.

Alison felt a bit silly that they hadn't exchanged names yet. They had after all 'run' all over the bookstore together. "My names Alison. It is a pleasure to meet you." She finished with a curtsy.

"Manga." She repeated as she pulled out some paper and a pen from her purse. She took a moment to write it down. Although she was sure that soon she wouldn't even need the paper because she was going to be spending a good bit of time.

"The books I read have a couple of pictures or else non at all. However, I can still suggest a couple." She smiled.

"Alison's a pretty name!" Malus grinned. "Yeah that sounds fun! It's good to expand ones horizons right?" She smiled, glad to have made another fiend, who was definitely, most likely not a villein! "Lead the way~"

"Thank you."

She tapped her chin and then nodded her head in agreement. "I've been told that same thing. That is good to brighten ones horizons."

"This way," she motioned. She lead the way to the romance section. "One of my favorites is Wuthering Heights. I think it is more comedy than romance but Twelfth Night is another good read."

She scanned the section until she found Wuthering Heights. She held it out to Malus. "Here you go," she smiled.

Malus skipped along as Alison floated along to the romance section. "Oh a comedy? That sounds fun!" She chirped as she scanned the back of the book. It was defiantly diffrent than what she usual read.

"Come on then let's see if we can find that other book. The Twelfth Night. We can ask the lady at the help desk for help on where to find it." She was extremely excited that someone else she knew was interested in reading. Her siblings hardly ever picked up a book unless they were studying or had no other choice.
