Sitting upon his throne the god of war kept going over the events in his mind unable to accept it all. He'd finally had that little b***h right where he wanted her, after a battle legends could be written about, her last moments of life almost spent when suddenly nothing. Once more his mind started reliving the events as if that would clear his confusion. The princess of the Amazonas had come to a long forgotten temple of Ares and preyed to the god of war knowing it would alert him to her presence. It had worked, however her timing couldn't have been worse; with heroes vanishing left and right conflict was at an all time high. Villain that once faced heroes now battled armies and police, whole cities were falling to chaos thus the War God was far more powerful now then anytime they had fought before. His memory of her words was not as good as his memory of the battle but it'd been along the lines of demanding the return of her comrades or else blah blah blah. Heroes always used the same lines it starts to just run together after a while.

The battle had started quickly, once Ares had said he knew nothing of those little heroes she'd attacked. He was still unsure if the attack was due to fear that she to would soon vanish leaving her mission in fulfilled or Diana was just pissed at the god, he didn't know. However the attack had caught him by surprise, using her sword the princess swung at his neck before using a downward slash; most other warriors caught by that combo would've been skewered but the god of war isn't most warriors. Half a second faster he'd summoned his shield and blocked the second strike after dodging the first. The block threw off the princess's balance forcing her to twist and wildly slash at his right rib cage, yet again the god of war deflected the attack. This time he turned with the attack keeping his shield between his body and her blade. Following his 360 turn Ares had thrust out with his blade which had taken on the dimensions of a Greek short sword, it had been a while since he fought the Greek way but it was like riding a horse you don't forget. The rest of the fight consisted of similar attacks and counters, yet it struck the god of war that Diana wasn't up to her normal standards. Throughout the battle she was more aggressive and wild then she was normally.

Strengths: He's a god, combat in general, and the more he pisses you off the stronger he gets.
Weaknesses: Ares' biggest weakness is overconfidence, he believes himself so much better then anyone else he often underestimates opponents, an another weakness is facing him with love and the intent to bind but not hurt. This might sound stupid but without violence he gets weaker, watch out though he'll try to push your anger buttons. His last weakness is his powers are not at there peak on earth, if you anger him stay off Mount Olympus.

• The Sword of War, Ares mythical blade. This is his weapon of choice as it can be any weapon he chooses, it is also indestructible which allows Ares to channel his power through it.

Personality
Ares is aloof, cruel, proud, rebellious, and violent; an easily angered bully who seems to care only about fighting. Ares is a capable strategist but his temper makes him tend to focus on strength and his arrogance leads him to underestimate his opponents, allowing clever fighters to get the better of him. He hates being called a coward and is willing to pick fights with people for no apparent reason.

Ares believes any problem can solved through fighting and encourages rebellion and violence above everything. It was once said he could pick a fight in an empty room.

Biography
Since the disappearance of the heroes Ares has been well bored. The criminals were running unopposed, meaning little conflict since most just roll over. However recently a few new heroes have began popping up including his half brother, Wonder Boy.(no seriously he calls himself that) These heroes thus far have been of little interest to the god of war, yet he has high hopes for future conflicts with them and has gone to earth to see how they compare to their predecessors.

To go into detail on all of Ares family would take a lifetime and you'd still likely be confused by incest and murder. There is only one member of interest, his half brother Wonder Brat. While they've fought a few battles, Ares won most and got bored of the rest, the elder brother war god has never finished Wonder Brat off. This suggest while he's willing to kill he has a brotherly bond somewhere in him. Or he just wants to wait for the kid to get out of diapers .

○ Armor of Ares: The armor Ares wears is for more the just looks its near indestructible. The only way to harm him in it is enchanted weapons or extreme pressure (aka like Superman's fist) However in his human skin this armor takes the form of regular clothing thus leaving his head and hands exposed.

○ Prowess in Battle: As the God of War, Ares is a fierce warrior, and a master of both armed and hand-to-hand combat, which is one of the reasons why he starts his own fights. However, he can sometimes underestimate his opponents and start toying with them, which is why he sometimes loses.

• War Manipulation: The ability to manipulate war, strife, combat and other forms of conflict Ares as god of War has the power to influence all forms of conflict including mental, physical, spiritual and conceptual ones, regardless of the area and numbers involved, control how they progress and draw power both from the conflict alone as well as the dying. Ares is  naturally, extremely skilled in all form of fighting, weapons and both strategy and tactics as well as statistics of war.
