ALL STUDENTS are required to pass at least one year of these core classes:
Etiquette
History
Law and Ethics
All students are required to take Literature each year, in which they will complete a research paper as follows:
Freshman: All freshman are tasked with completing a research paper about the history of the school.
Sophomores: All sophomores are tasked with completing a research paper about the history of their respective homelands.
Juniors: All juniors are tasked with completing an argumentative analysis of a current world issue, and are asked to select a topic for their senior thesis paper to be submitted to staff for approval.
Seniors: All seniors are tasked with completing their senior thesis on a topic of their choice as approved by staff, and are asked to make an announcement at that year's Winter Ball regarding an engagement and/or ascension to the throne in the coming year.
The core classes do not have to be taken in the same year (with the exception of yearly Literature courses), and can be repeated as desired. All students must pass at least one year of each core course before being allowed to graduate.
*It should be noted that we at Academy Royale do not actually expect RPers to create elegantly worded theses about these topics. We will grade you according to your character's apparent abilities, based on his/her actions in class and around school. If you would LIKE to submit to us a thesis paper, by all means, feel free! Someone will grade them and get back to you. But DO NOT feel obligated to. We're here to have fun.
