User ImageName: Isaac Fletcher

Nickname: None, and don't you dare call him Zack

Age: 27

Birthday: April 28

Sign: Taurus

Gemstone: Diamond

Blood Type: B

Fav. Food: Meatloaf

Hated Food: Gelatin anything

Occupation: Substitute teacher

Hobbies:

Like Olivia Newton-John: He likes to get physical. He has a gym membership, which he uses, but much prefers outdoor sports: running, hiking, volleyball, softball, whatever. He doesn't join organized sports teams or follow professional sports, but if your neighborhood's got a flag football tournament on, count him in.

History Buff: Although he tends to get a lot of his information wrong because he relies on Wikipedia and History Channel dramatizations more than established research, he is always happy to be corrected or to learn something new. He is not picky about time period or locale--he just loves interesting tidbits and tracing the influences of major events down through time. If you had to ask him though, Alexandrian history has a special place in his heart, as does the history of the Norsemen and Vikings. He'll be the first to tell you those dudes didn't have horns on their helmets.

Scooterpooting: His favourite thing to do on a dull weekend is to call up a friend, make sandwiches, load up into his old Jetta, and drive in a random direction. He has strict rules: no firm destinations permitted, no GPS enabled unless things become dire, and only upbeat music on the radio. These mini-roadtrips can last anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days.

Virtues:

Avuncular: Whether it's his physical presence--he is tall and, although he is not a beefcake by any stretch, he conveys the muscular power of an athlete--or his constant smile and air of total confidence, Isaac is frequently looked up to as a guardian and confidant by those younger or more timid than himself. He has a protective streak and considers himself invested in the well-being of those who confide in him, as well as good at keeping a secret and whipping up a damn fine letter of recommendation.

Everything's Coming Up Roses: Despite his occasionally-dry sense of humor, Isaac has a talent for putting a positive spin on things. While this can have its downsides (see below), it also means that, if you can overlook the occasional tactless joke, he's a dab hand at cheering up those who need cheering up, and is also rarely depressed himself.

What Time Is It?!: Adventure time! Isaac finds an opportunity for adventure in nearly everything, and is the first person to say "sure, why not!" when confronted with a potentially foolish endeavour. An ability to find something fun and entertaining to do in nearly every situation is one of the things that makes his friends love him.

Flaws:

BORED BORED BORED: An ability to find something fun and entertaining to do in nearly every situation is one of the things that makes his friends avoid him. Unless there's a good documentary about Ancient Wonders of the World on, the idea of a quiet evening in is anathema to Isaac. And wouldn't that documentary be better if we made it into a drinking game? Hey! We can have a party! Everyone can come in costume! His need for constant stimulation makes him restless and even a bit overwhelming to strangers, and his inability to just sit still and have this meeting please is a constant professional hindrance. It also makes him a liability in situations requiring quiet or stealth.

Who Are You? After you've known him for a time, Isaac begins to seem... strangely superficial. This is because, as his friends soon learn, he plays his emotional cards extremely close to the vest. His innermost machinations--and indeed, even things as mild as his family history and his background--are a mystery even to those closest to him. He's the sort of person who randomly tells a friend (who's known him for years) an anecdote about his brother, only to get an incredulous "you have a brother?!" in return. This translates naturally into being a person with very few close friends. His associations are broad rather than deep, and casual rather than intimate. No one is certain who he turns to in a time or crisis, or if, in fact, he has anyone to turn to at all. Additionally, bottling things up is never wise...User Image

Hawkeye Syndrome: Isaac refuses to give almost any situation the gravity it deserves. He is too handy with a flippant comment or a a bit of graveyard humor, and no one is sure if he's emotionally detached and tactless, or if this is his awkward way of coping with difficult feelings. In any case, it'd be a bad idea to invite him to a funeral, and it can make those parent-teacher meetings awfully... awkward.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Green, a bit hooded, and developing the beginnings of laugh lines.

Hair: A curly mop of dark reddish brown.

Face: A somewhat boyish face, with full lips, thin eyebrows, and high cheekbones. He is clearly of mixed race, but what races exactly aren't immediately clear on looking at him.

Clothes: He typically dresses in a somewhat stylish fashion, suitable for both his job as a schoolteacher and for his young age. He doesn't obsess over his clothes, but feels that it's important to look nice. He peppers his outfits with accessories like stylish watches and combat boots to keep from looking too bookish.

Powered info (eventually; still just a civ atm)

Knight Title: Eljudnir, Page of Jupiter

Challenge: You can't hide from me! (tentative)

Uniform:

All right, SO, for Page.

Rough sketch of idea/s here.

Generalities: I know I want it to be primarily grey and green-toned (think cloudy skies and stormy oceans), with some brown. Ought to just generally look "stormy." Everything pieced together roughly, lots of interplay of texture. Add some furs or something to make it more "Norse" if you need to.

I know I want a coat like this (different colors probably) for page, possibly with a hooded something or other underneath. Length of coat is CC. If a long coat is too capelike that's fine, but I'd prefer it longer than shorter.

Here are some cool things: moar coat, these shirts are neat, this is not actually for my char i just think it is a really hot picture but maybe the bracers are useable, this tabard is really cool and the sort of thing you could put a hood on if you wanted to, oh look it has a hood i never noticed

Weapon:
A Viking Sunstone (like so). It should look, at page stage, exactly like the photo accompanying that article. I am not sure yet how I want it to visually/aesthetically progress, and will work it out with the artist/s as he grows!

Page: The stone is small and useless. Unless you are looking for the sun on an overcast day, in which case it has exactly one use.
Squire: The dots on the stone can be aligned as though one were looking for the sun--but instead aimed at an opponent, who receives a beam of "sunlight." This affects an area roughly the size of a ping-pong ball, so it is not an AoE. For the first five seconds, the beam is merely uncomfortable. For the next five seconds, it becomes comparable to a sunburn. At fifteen seconds it actively leaves welts, but the total duration the stone can be used in this stage is only 30 seconds.
Knight: As above, the stone can now be focused for 45 seconds total.

Hi Rejam~ Isaac is super cute so let's get him stamped so you can play<3

ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE:

I actually think his civ side is great~ Awesome job c:

ON THE POWERED SIDE:

Uniform and weapon look good - is it staying a sunstone for all three stages, just aestetically different?

Powers, though - I feel as if they're missing the themes of Jupiter. Jupiter themes are "storms, weather, conflict"; powers should incorporate these! Also, since Eljudnir's weapon is basically an object/artifact it is definitely possible to give him an offense-oriented attack, so that's something to think about~

Quote me once you've made changes or if you have any questions and I'll be back~

Thank you very much for crit + help @ new attack brainstorming! I thought maybe the whole 'stormy seas' thing was a bit tenuous a connection for jupiter (and distinctly neptune-y, as blue pointed out to me after I got the crit). SO! Got some help and altered it to be more weather-driven, and more offensive, as you suggested. biggrin Also yes, at the moment I am going to favor aesthetics over practicality and keep it some form of sunstone throughout his growth.

Let me know if I need to tweak it at all!
