Born outside the walls in a distant land Chara and her family were one of the few famalies whom heard of the "Great Walls" being constructed far away and left in fear of the rumor of giants that ate people. Through the months that led to her eventual arrival at the First wall her father and many friends were sacrificed for her and the remaining to live. As they rode through the night, assuming it was safe their caravan was ambushed by a group of titans. Her brother had been knocked from the horse he had been riding as he was riding with their father whom had been picked off and eaten before his eyes. Picking him up and quickly fleeing the scene Chara vowed to one day create a world where that level of fear and anguish didn't exist.
After finally getting to the walls more than seventy percent of their caravan had been devoured. Now years later she hopes to join the ranks of the Cadets and defend her remaining family from the titan menace as the construction of the walls continues.
