Moving over between the streets of the city, the lazy blade was wandering upon the ghost town. She was supposed to arrive with her partner but she oveslept. She had been wandering around for hours but still there was no sign of the meister. Or The kishin egg. "Y-yeez... I need to use an alarm clock, next time."
This'll be my only post tonight since I have work tomorrow
On the top of a dusty roof, Mathew silently watched misty wander throughout the empty city. She seemed oblivious to his presence. As it should be. If everything went according to plan, Misty would become all too aware of the madness that was coursing through his veins at this very moment. He crouched down low as she drew near, waiting for the perfect time to strike. His blades were already itching to tear into her.
The unaware blade walked silently through the streets, looking for her partner, yet still unable to detect Mathew's presence, after all she took as less courses at the academy as she could, and being Soul perception only obligatory to meisters, she skipped those classes and was now rendered defenseless without a meister. "oh c'mon. The meister should be around here somewhere." Little did she knew she was being called by Mathew's madness, being led as a moth to the flames. "Hello, anybody?"
No problem. Should the meister be already dead? or are we having her fight Mathew with a partner? None the less, I think we should let Mathew wield her at least once for her to be appealing as a toy.
Once Misty had approached close enough, Mathew jumped down from the roof, landing a few yards away from her. "Hey there," he said, putting on a friendly smile, his blades hidden in his back pocket. "Are you Misty?" He had to do his best to act like one of the "good guys" for the time being. That was something his boss had stressed specifically. It wasn't his strong suite; he was itching for action. But he could play along for now.
"H-huh? oh Yes! That's me." Exclaimed the naive weapon which ran towards Mathew, pursuing safety on the wolf's den. "Are you by any chance my meister? I'm sorry I took so long, my ride was late so I couldn't make it in time.. So... is the city already evacuated? What's next?" The very least she could do is attempt to compensate for her tardiness not knowing she was already dancing in the thin line of life and death with the evil soul she was supposed to harvest.
"That's right," he replied, extending his hand for her to shake. "And yeah, the city has been evacuated. We're safe to fight as hard as we can here." Ironically that was more or less the truth if "evacuation" counted as killing a few people and causing the rest to flee. As a result, some of the houses were burnt down, making it seem as if a fire witch had caused the damage. "You're a long sword, right? Don't worry, I'm good with those. We just have to find that witch and take her out before she causes any more damage."
"H-huh? oh right." The weapon said taking Mathew's hand using her autosynchro to be wield easily by him, yet as none of them were truly trained with one another the sword wasn't as strong as it should, tho there wouldn't be a way to tell without testing it. "I'm a bit inexperienced, but just give me time to get used to your wavelength and I'll get it done. So, if you could buy us some time I'll be ready for the action. I've been practicing this... wait did you said a witch? I thought we were after a kishin egg. The report said we need to avoid the witch and inform the authorities. " Said the girl by remembering the mission statements, if she was good at something was at not doing any extra work. And one of the details that caught her eye was that she wasn't asked to battle a witch in this mission. Despite that she was starting to get a weird feeling just as soon as she started synching with Mathew, but she was too naive to figure that out. "W-weird...I'm hungry... but I just ate this morning..." She told herself, not knowing it was a natural reaction towards an evil soul being this near.
"Well, um, yes," Mathew replied, mentally cursing himself. He was never good with this whole friendly deception type thing. He just wanted to tear her soul apart. But of course his desire was kept in check by his fear of the one who was in charge of this whole operation. "But we have to be ready in case she DOES come. After all, the witch will surely notice our presence once we start to fight the kishin egg." He took a few practice swings with the blade, just to make sure he had the feel for it. When Misty talked about being hungry he looked down at her in annoyance. "We can eat later," He told her before jumping onto the rooftop and making a show of looking around for the "evil kishin egg" that was supposed to be around.
"I-im sorry, I swear this shouldn't be happening." The longsword replied while trying to focus on Mathew's wavelength. Yet the more she synched with him, the more the hunger began to be a bother to her. It didnt take long before a running boy dashed from one of the collapsing houses to another in search for a shelter in this ashing battlefield.
"Sure, sure," Mathew said, already distracted. He began running through the town, gradually making his way towards the fire witch's location. "So, uh, were are you from?" He asked, not wanting her to think he was suspicious.
