He'd fought one of these before, very early on. It'd be easier now. He stumbled out of the Descent and almost directly into a battle, and this time he was ready. Guns drawn. He wasn't sure if the Goddesses would have smiled on him destroying more shambling monsters, but he wasn't doing it for them. The shots hit, but so did the clawed limb. He was knocked back. Chaesel noticed the other person in the clearing, but didn't bother to acknowledge him just yet. She was a little more focused on killing the weird lock thing in front of them.

As she spoke, the lock monster lurched closer, so she slashed it along the "body" half of the creature. He'd been relieved, at first, to hear some statement of self-sufficiency, but then she'd followed up with the postscript, and his swelling, irrational anger fueled a decent shot. "We wouldn't be fighting them in the first place," he said, but he wasn't talking to her. He was just saying what he was thinking, unable to stop his thoughts before they reached his mouth. Ixyguin felt a little bad for butting in on their conversation, but it was too late to back out now. Both faces looked familiar, but only vaguely so. Regardless, she lifted a hand to wave, smiling faintly before dropping it with a sigh.
"I won't lie--I can't help but feel kind of unsettled not knowing the goddesses' thoughts or plans...but I don't feel like I can make proper judgments of my own when I don't have anything to go off of. Not any memories, nor any knowledge of this place or situation as a whole."

Chaesel gave the man a snort. "Look, I don't really trust 'em either. I can tell you're sort of half and half dude." She shrugged. "But the way I see it, the only way to take them out is to become a goddess yourself. So we gotta do what they say 'til then."
