She grimaced as it came towards them, then aimed a kick for it's head. It hit, but her balance was off. The second swing was considerably more impressive, and possibly this was because he was greeted with a familiar face, and felt, as before, the urge to show her up. He seemed very different now. There was something grimmer about the lines of his face and in the cadence of his voice, and it manifested as a fierce, airy mocking broken up by the effort of swinging an angry fist. "Coyote. "Why does it say hello even when you hit it?" Tiek asked as took another shot. It grazed off the kitty's fur. She turned her limpid eyes of desu and whispered a sultry "Hello" to him. Shuddering, Tiek felt his life drain away a little more.

And then he'd gone away. He'd wanted her around in case she turned out to be important, but she hadn't. Maybe she was important some other way, though. "Are you following me?" he demanded, and although he joined her in beating the thing up he didn't have the same relish for it she had. "I've been trying to get s**t done." They had company, but he was focused too much on doling out mechanical, unenthusiastic punishment (albeit in very small doses) and trying to sort out whether he was glad to see her again or pissed.
