Lectoa cocked her head when the goddess bestowed upon her an empty bag, but at least that was quickly rectified when she received a pair of scissors. “Um…” The murmur managed to escape her parted lips as she awkwardly held the blades in her clawed hands. It wasn’t that she couldn’t use them per say, but they were a bit difficult to handle, given the state of her hands.
Regardless, she listened to the goddess earnestly and zealously nodded her head. “Yes! Okayokay! I can do that. Yesyes!” There was a certain twinge in the back of her head. Almost a spike of frustration as she felt absolutely thrilled to be doing something interesting. Something exciting. There wasn’t much going on inside her head when she rushed through the opening and headed for the first door that appealed to her.

She found herself in a hallway filled with a humming. Oddly comforted by the sound, Lectoa lifted her ears and began to hum along, though it didn’t take long for the excited shadow to begin humming a completely different tune. She walked forward with a cheery bounce in her steps. Lectoa could even imagine herself walking through a path of smiling pumpkins as familiar voices filled her senses. She smiled and kept humming right through the door, only to be brought to her senses when it clicked shut and light shined in her eyes.
“Ow!” It seemed her imagination had leaked into reality, as she realized she was surrounded by actual pumpkins. She laughed and beamed brightly, then continued through the makeshift path until she encountered a tombstone. “Here lies—“ This was…?
Her ears twitched when she heard a thump. They twitched again when she heard it a second time. This was no joke or her imagination. This was real. Clawed hands tore at the flowers and the ground to reveal the Heart. She gasped. “I found it…!” There was no hesitation as she fumbled with her scissors and cut away at the ground until she possessed the Heart in her hands. Grinning, Lectoa placed it into her bag.
”Hey, whatcha doin’?”
She yelped, ears flattened against her orange-haired head and turned around, claws behind her back. “N-Nothing…” she lied meekly.
He snickered, golden eyes gleaming knowingly. “Sure. I guess I’m doing nothing too!” The child fell from the trees and held out a hand. “Percy, you?”

Huh. What was that just now? She wondered briefly as she stood up and began to head back. Was that memory hers? It seemed like it, but it felt so odd. Lectoa hadn’t realized she had possessed memories like that. Perhaps she had known, but refused to acknowledge in favor of seeking out new, interesting things that could get her heart thumping. Perhaps…
Actually, where was she supposed to be walking? Lectoa looked around briefly, but failed to find an entrance or exit. There was nothing else to do, but to keep walking, so she kept walking. Yet, with each step she took she felt her legs move slower. She had to put in more power and strength to get her body to move forward. She couldn’t understand why.
Footsteps that weren’t hers. She looked around. No one. Shrugging, she moved forward once more.
A voice this time. “Please give it back.”
Lectoa moved with the same speed, her face filled with the same level of innocent curiosity when she found no one else in her midst. She walked again, forcing herself through the water even as the levels began to rise. She had to keep walking. The exit must be here somewhere.
“Please give me back my—“
She nearly let go of the bag when hands grabbed her from behind. Fearfully, she sucked in a gulp of water and gagged. No…! Lectoa felt herself falling forward into the water, deeper into the abyss. Something propelled her further into the darkness, closer to losing her sense of self. It was like her existence would blink out any moment. As her free hand reached for nothing, she looked into cold grey eyes and snarling teeth.
“Give me back my heart.”
Days spent climbing trees. Imagining up fantastic adventures. Falling into the lava pools and emerging unscathed. Setting fire to whatever interesting item they could get their grubby little hands on. That was what childhood friends did.
Percy, where did you go?

No matter how much she cared, no matter how much she loved, she had to save herself first. Sorry, Percy. She said the words silently to herself as she struggled to find her scissors. A clawed hand gripped his bony wrist so Lectoa could plunge her weapon into the first opening she could see. The shriek that came was nothing like she had expected. It wasn’t like the surprised yelp like from her memories. It was cold, chilling, filled with death.
He disappeared.
As Lectoa scrambled for the door, she pretended to not see the glimmer of metal and the hunched silhouette.

She woke up feeling cold, but she didn’t like cold temperatures. Lectoa frowned and grabbed herself carefully with her claws. She frowned. The fact that she had fallen asleep in the first place hadn’t quite registered in her brain, and perhaps it never would. Blinking until her sight adjusted to the light and her ears to the buzzing, she slid off the table and walked for the door. There was no thinking, only instinct.
The shadow opened the door and stepped into the hallway. The sudden snapping caused her to flinch. She looked back anxiously, but the door was empty. Yet the table was…gone? Shrugging, Lectoa walked forward.
Thud.
Huh? She looked behind. Nothing.
Thud.
Something.
She physically recoiled backward at the figure, their tail and ears twitching with amusement. They took a step forward.
Lectoa scampered away like the frightened animal she was.

She panicked, but kept running anyways, footsteps loudly echoing. Her vision began to blur.
A clawed hand tries to grab onto his tail, but it pulls back just in time. He laughs. "What're you trying to do?"
"Nothing," she stubbornly answers. Her hand reaches forward a second time, bu this time his long nails bat it away.
"I never thought dogs liked cats so much," he snickered.
She laughs. "No. It's just me."

A flash of red out of the corner of her eye. Alecto turned her head to stare at the letters written on the scrap of paper. But there's nothing else. She kept running.

"You're so stupid."
She knew that already.
"Why are you so airheaded?"
She didn't know that. Was that true?

Another memory.
"I'm bored."
"Me too."
"Wanna do something?" She rolls onto her stomach.
"Sure, but what?"
"Dunno." She shrugs. "We could always go to the lava pools."
"I suppose."

Lectoa inhaled fresh air as she escaped the hallway, but she had to keep running. Eventually, she found a bridge. There was no time to hesitate. She stepped forward.
But suddenly her pace slowed down, and she whined as she realized the distance between her and the figure were rapidly shrinking.
Her ears flattened when it gleefully spoke about taking her Heart out. It was only fair if she had taken his, right? "I don't know what that means," she muttered before she tripped and looked down.
Butterflies fluttered in her stomach as she tried to slowly turn around, but it already had a hand on her head.
"A-Ah--!"
Lectoa almost wanted to say his smile was gentle. "Don't worry. It only hurts once."
Snip-snip.
Her body thudded to the ground as the figure walked away with her beating Heart in his hands.

Her ears flatten against her head. “Am I?” She hopes not. She would like to be tall! Not too tall, but tall enough. But the disappoint washes away when the Goddess offers her a cookie. “Yesyes!” Lectoa nods her head vigorously as a clawed hand reaches for the baked good. She’s still chewing when the Goddess suggests to experience different emotions. “How?” Her mouth is still full when she wonders aloud, but asks no further questions when she walks past the gate.
She only looks around a few times before she spots the table. “Oh!” Tail swishing, Lectoa rushes over. Pink! Pink is like red. She takes the jar and obediently follows the directions. Her eyes close and her ears twitch happily. She’s giggling with happiness when the table spins to reveal snacks. “Don’t mindmind if I do!” She takes the cake first. It tastes sweet as expected, but the taste is beginning to overwhelm her with too much joy. One hand over her mouth, she takes the colorful teacup with the other. She downs it in one go.

The sky is ashy grey, but this suits her just fine. It’s the only kind of grey sky she’s ever seen. She knows that the ash from the volcano coats the sky, and she’s grown to like it that way.
Her clawed hands idly scratch a name onto a shard of obsidian. She holds the fragment at a distance. The name ‘Percy’ is written in surprisingly-neat lettering. She smiles. She begins to turn around. “Hey PercyPercy—“
Gone.
“Percy?”
She catches a glimpse of his feline tail disappearing into Old Man Jenkins’ house. Oh for the love of…
A whine rumbles in her throat. Stupid cat couldn’t stop poking his head into trouble! She stands up slowly, but walks after him at an even slower pace. Her sneakers creak against the floorboards of his porch and it’s a wonder the dragon hasn’t heard either of them yet.
“PercyPercy?” she whispers in a hush. Her tail wraps around her legs while she waddles through the main hallway. “Um…” When there’s no response, her tail curls between her legs. She calls out in an even meeker voice. “Percy?”
A pause. Then—“YOU RANG?” He suddenly pops in from the ceiling, his brown scarf nearly covering the smug grin on his face.
She howls loudly, but stops suddenly. Both children cover their mouths. Uh-oh.
“Who’s there…?” The voice is raspy, but the fiery glow of his chest is menacing as ever. “You…better…GET OUT NOW!”
She’s screaming at the top of her lungs, but manages to cling to Percy and drag him out. But the proper description would be that the flames pushed them out of the house and off the scorching lawn.
“Whatwhat was that for?” More whining. She tugs at his sleeve, but he’s cackling while rummaging through his pockets.
“Remember that necklace of yours that old geezer took from you? When we sort of uh, haha….Messed with his house…for a bit.” Awkward coughing because he knows it was completely his idea. Nimble hands dangle a golden chain with a simple charm—a glittering red flame that seems to flicker with each spin.
Any shred of fear and annoyance disappear. There is only glorious relief and happiness. She’s giggling. “You. Are. Amazing.”
He pops his collar. “I know.” This is apparently hilarious, because now she’s laughing and snorting.
“You just…Youyou just…”
“What?”
“That’s so lame,” she snickers before falling to the ground.
“What? Hey now!” Indignant but smiling, he lightly pushes her in the side.
“I love youryour lameness though. It's one of your charms.”

Tea Guest Log Colour of Tea Tasted: Brown. Description: Light, carefree, full of mischief. An afternoon tea. Your commentary on its flavour: It's difficult to relate. Not because Sarviur doesn't like having fun - he's certain even from a brief glimpse that the people around him would have enjoyed doing...perhaps something similar to the Percy and Alecto in the memory. Open laughter, tempting danger...Sarviur supposes he tempts danger well enough. Above all, though, fondness and comfort. He'd like that, he thinks, and he envies the brewer, just a little. Not enough that he wants to know who it is, though.
