It was barely the middle of the morning, and already one bad McBeth was causing some trouble. "You know, you really are cute," He grinned, leaning over a small asian girl. "Especially with your accent. Name's Jason. Come on, try and say it. It's an easy name. I bet after an hour with me, you'll never forget the name." He teased, towering over her. While his brother had gone to try and find the music room, Jason was looking for someone to make some music in his room. Coming out to a boarding school, with so many pretty faces and perky bodies, and all so far from home, was turning out to be the best decision he'd made. "Don't be shy now. Say it: Jason. You didn't have a problem taking my eevee with you. I wanted to reward you for finding it for me..." He leaned in close for a kiss.
Hana trembled, feeling trapped. She'd been part of an infamous pick-up trap, and was too naive to have foreseen it. All she knew was that she'd found a cute little pokemon roaming around, and now some guy was cornering her. She kept her head down, wanting to cry in fear. She'd never been cornered before in her life, and it was a horrible feeling! Especially on her first day in a new place! "Plees... I not want cause trwable..." Her accent got in the way of her meek little plea. "I... I not known it you pokemon," she tried to explain, but it didn't look like Jason was interested in listening. Then something more horrible followed: the strange man tried to kiss her! "No! I not want trwable!" She called as loud as she could, shaking.
"Schto?" Lel Towered behind Jason, moving him away and staring him down. He was a massive person. It was clear that he'd gotten into his share of fights and hard times, and his breath wreaked of smoke. "Go." He said, giving the pervert a one time chance to avoid an unpleasant end, and stared him down more to make himself serious.
Jason frowned as she pulled away, and was about to let out some smart-mouthed comment to persist... but that's when the fun had to end. He was rudely interrupted by some foreigner. A good looking guy, but not his type. The two looked each other up and down to size up, and Jason had made his decision. "Tch. Got better things to do anyway that play with some virgin b***h and her pet." He stuck his hands in his pockets, walking off. "Come on eevee. I think we should look around for dancers. Or gymnasts. Can't remember the last time I had one of them..." The little fox pokemon hopped out of Hana's arms, following behind its trainer happily. Jason was never the type to put up a fight just for a little bit of action. He liked a bit of a chase, but when it became a chore is when he called it quits. This was one of those time. Fighting for a little girl was just barbaric and more trouble than it was worth. 'She'd have probably been lousy in the sack anyway.' He justified his choice to leave.
Hana fell onto her knees, weak and unable to keep herself up anymore until she caught her breath again--enough to calm down. Here she was, her one wish to be a normal girl, and it was already terrible! Already she longed to retreat back to the safety of her home, the walls that kept the world out. The world was much scarier than she'd ever anticipated, and she was not as brave as she hoped to be. "Ariga--Thaynk yu," She said, finally looking up, but the man who'd come to her rescue was already walking away. "Ch-ch--Wait!" She called with her soft voice, trying to catch up to him. And when she did, finally, she panted a moment. "You help me?" She looked up at him, her eyes filled with an innocent naivity.
Lel rubbed at the back of his head. "Men vith no honor, not men. Igen, I help. You needed help." He tried to explain to her. Between two accents and poor english, he wondered if the tiny girl even understood why he helped her. "Bye." He walked again, only to notice a shadow following him. He stopped once more, and looked at her.
"Plees... You help?" She shyly handed him a piece of paper. She'd been lost all morning, trying to find her dorm. Then her stomach growled. Her hands fidgeted to try and muffle it, and fussed with the school uniform she was given and made to wear. She'd never felt more naked and exposed in clothing before.
Lel sighed. "I vill help..." He finally agreed. It was annoying to have someone so frail following him. But what kind of a man just turned away a woman who asked for help?
Iris was walking in the courtyard. She breathed in the fresh air of her academy. This was her third year. She could only imagine what this year would bring to her. After Team Rocket, she felt as though she could take on the world after surviving that. Also, she had her mother with her still in Adell with her brother Naoki while her father went back to the Nimbasa to help with the rest of the town and the stadiums. With her was Rai, Zoey and Ellie.
As she was walking around, she took notice of girl that was looking uncomfortable as a guy was hitting on her. Iris bristle up and made her way to help the girl when a larger male came to her aid, making the other guy leave. As the guy was leaving, Iris was arriving to see the welfare of the girl.
"Hello," she said. "Are you okay? I was walking by when I saw that guy bothering and well I wanted to see if you okay. I'm Iris...Iris Haruno by the way..."
Iris then looked at the male that was towering over her. She blushed a little since he was cute. "Thank you for helping her out. You're a true gentleman."
Hana looked up at the odd green-haired girl, coming right up. "Haru...no." She smiled. That was a Japanese name! "I am well, thaynk yu," She proudly said. One of the most practiced phrases she had. And in staying proper, she bowed politely while Lel just stood there with an uncertain look. "Good meeting you," She forgot a few words, a bit too excited to find someone from her country. "My name, Himeko no Hana. It hard, I know. Hana iss good. Plees." She held her hands up and close, eager to make a friend with someone who might be more like herself.
Lel took in a slow and deep breath, seeming trapped into giving his own name as well. "Lél Odon," he said vacantly with his thick Hungarian accent. "You know vhere girl dormz are?" He handed off Hana's paper, her dorm room circled on the campus map.
Iris looked as the girl as she spoke. The accent was heavy and familiar. Hearing her name and Iris knew that she had to be Japanese. She was actually excited since the only other Japanese person she knew was Vern. "Hello Hana." Iris said, "It's very nice to meet you. I see you were still learning English, that's great. You know if you don't mind. I can help you from time to time."
As Iris smiled at Hana, the male said his name to be Lel. "Hello...Lel.." she hoped that she had said his name correctly. She listened carefully as his accent was very thick for her. It was seeing the map with a Dorm number on it that made Iris understand what he was asking. "Oh, I know where the girl dorms are. I can show you..."
As she spoke, Zoey and Ellie appeared. The Zoroark looked and sniffed around the Hana and Lel meanwhile Reuniclus remained at Iris' side.
Hana smiled even wider, and was about to say a thank you when a frightful-looking pokemon came up to her without warning! She squeaked and quickly hid behind Lel without realizing it. The massive guy just stood there, debating on how strong the pokemon actually was. But Hana didn't want anything to do with it; Zoraok was nothing like her little togepi that her future inlaws had given to her. "What thaht?" She tried to hide from it better.
Lel didn't bother with being a meat shield, or that he was being sniffed at. "You good battler?" He asked in a general manner, fishing out his pack of cigarettes and his lighter. Iris' response would be the deciding factor of if he should battle, befriend, or more-or-less ignore her.
Iris looked at Hana as she hid behind Lel when Zoey appeared to sniff the new people. Iris saw Hana's shocked face. "That's my Zoroark Zoey. She's a little troublemaker but she's sweet and overall harmless." Zoey looked at Hana, seeing that the girl was cautious of her. Zoey decided to transform into a Zorua. She found that this form was cuter. Zoey mewled at Hana with large eyes to look even cuter.
Iris looked to Lel, scratching her cheek. "I find myself to be a pretty good battler.I battle a lot with my friends and I have a mentor that is one of the strongest teachers here." Iris watched as he took out a cigarette. She bit her lips since she didn't know if it would be okay to tell him that smoking was bad. Especially since she just met him so she decided to continue her previous thought. "I plan to be the top female trainer."
(Nevermind Phiar, it’ll just go here. Also, I apologize to everybody for this long-a** post… But I have no intentions of it going to waste, so it’s getting put here!)
I... just wander ‘round with ๓ץ єץєร ฬเ๔є รђยt, because of you. νєяη кєℓιιкσα νєяη кєℓιιкσα
Covering his ears, Vern just couldn’t stand to hear them. He knew what they were from, but the sound of his mother in pain was something he just couldn’t bear to listen to. Peering into the window, Sawsbuck –his mother’s pokemon- wanted to know what was going on with his trainer.
More screaming.
Miss Norewood was rushing in and out of the room frantically, trying to get lots of wet rags to place onto Naomi’s head. The whole time, Grandma Norewood was at the other end of Vern’s mom, reassuring her, telling her that she’s doing just fine. Oliver was also helping out his mom, making sure that the screaming woman remained hydrated.
Another round of screaming.
”Alice, get your butt over here! Oli can go fetch the water!” Grandma Norewood ordered, no longer her usual nutty self. Right away, Miss Norewood was at her own mother’s side, helping to sooth her, to calm her down, and more importantly, to reassure her that everything was going to be fine. Only one short hour ago, everything had been good and dandy. The Family had been out and about seeing some sights –since Vern and his mother had never been to Foretree before- when all of a sudden, Naomi’s water broke. She wasn’t due for another month! The trip out was cut short, and the Family were quick to return back to the house a top Oliver’s Tropius. The entire time, the labor was advancing awfully quickly, forcing Tropius to fly faster and faster back to the house; when they arrived home the Norewoods knew exactly what to do.
Seeing everyone just go straight into their roles, Vern honestly felt pretty useless. His mother was in pain, screaming, about to give birth to two children at any moment, and he just stood there. Motionless. And… He just didn’t know what to do. What could he do? All around him, everyone just seemed to know exactly what to do; that feeling of worthless just got worse and worse and his heart sunk. Oliver, noticing that something was wrong with him, went over to Vern and whispered to him, ”Vern, I know you want to be here for your mom through this, but I think it’d be better if you waited outside with Leo. We’ve got it covered here.” Vern was about to respond, now feeling even more useless, when Oli then clarified, ”It’s not that you can’t help, it’s that for your mom’s sake, it’ll be better for the both of you if you’re not there to stress eachother out. Okay?” He nodded, understanding why he had to leave the room, and before he left, Oli gave him a quick kiss.
Out in the hallway, Leonardo –whom was Oliver’s oldest cousin- was sitting there, playing with his Treecko absent-mindedly. Vern took a seat next to him on the floor, sighing. Leo looked up at his cousin’s boyfriend, smiling a little. ”Hey.””Hey.” Normally, they were much more talkative with each other, since the two black-haired boys actually got along very well; but given the circumstances, neither of them felt very up to talking. Leo’s Treecko ran around, climbing up the walls and ceilings as the two played with eachother half-heartedly. Nearby, the thirteen year old boy’s Eevee was taking a nap with Leo’s own Kirlia. Seeing the other Kirlia, Vern felt the sudden urge to send out his own. ”Rae, come on out!” The black-haired, blue-eyed, younger boy, looked over with curiosity as Vern’s Kirlia was sent out. Sensing the other psychic type, Leo’s Kirlia got up to go twirl over to Rae. She hid behind Vern, shy of meeting the other Kirlia, but he just encouraged her to go say hello to the boy Kirlia. ”Go on Rae, he’s not going to hurt you.” He reassured her, motioning for her to step forward. She looked back at her trainer, incredibly shy, but the male Kirlia was polite enough not to get too close until he knew it was okay. This went on for a few minutes, and the two Kirlia’s greeted each other and twirled around with the other. They were already becoming friends!
Leonardo had dropped by only a few days ago as soon as his school let out, since even though he loved his parents and siblings dearly, they just weren’t as much fun to be around as his big cousin, Oli, was. Besides, there was a certain appeal to Grandma Norewood, beneath all the nuttiness and insanity; plus Leo really liked his aunt Alice. ”They really seem to like eachother.” Leo pointed out, grinning as he watched the two Kirlia’s play with eachother. ”It’s a good thing yours has a bow, or else I don’t think we’d be able to tell them apart!” Vern laughed a little in agreement! ”Yeah, no kidding!” Now, Leo’s Eevee got up from his nap and meandered over to the two boys. ”Hey Eevee, what’s up?” He asked his brown fox-looking Pokemon, stroking his head and scratching him behind the ears.
Now it was Vern’s turn to be curious. ”You know, I’ve been meaning to ask this, but do you know what you want to evolve your Eevee into?” Vern reached forward to pet the Eevee as well, smiling as he rolled over onto his tummy and more or less asked to have his tummy rubbed. The two boys easily obliged, and they reached forward to rub the Eevee’s underside. ”Well, I would like to evolve him into a Flareon eventually, but not right now. For now I’m content with him staying the way he is~” The Eevee was purring now as the two boys double-timed and rubbed his tummy and scratched his head at the same time.
From the other room, his mother’s screaming was still persistanting, and Vern did his best to block out the sounds. He was just going to keel over in worry and stress at this point. ”Really? A Flareon?” The half oriental boy wondered, leaning back and tilting his head over at his boyfriend’s younger cousin. ”Yeah, why?” Leo blinked, wondering what the confirmation was needed for. ”Well, it just so happens, that I have two firestones and I only need one of them for Nala, my Vulpix.” Leo’s eyes widened, jaws dropping a little. ”Y-you wouldn’t happen to be willing to give one of them to me, would you?” The young boy was suddenly looking at Vern with wide, googly, sparkling eyes, and his hands pressed together in a “pretty please?” pose. His sweat dropped a little at the sight. ”Of course I’ll let you have it! If I didn’t want to give it to you, I wouldn’t have brought it up!” Leonardo glomped Vern in a bear hug, swishing him around back and forth in excitement. ”THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU!” Gaw! He was suffocating Vern with all of his “thank you”s! After that, the two got out a deck of cards and decided to play Go Fish with Treecko, the two Kirlia’s, and Valene, while they waited for news from the temporary birthing room.
At one point, the two boys looked up when the more usual sound of screaming and heavy breathing was broken by sudden wailing. Vern couldn’t help but be concerned, his heart growing heavier and heavier with each passing moment. What could be wrong? His mind raced through every possibility, each one becoming worse than the other one; judging by the looks of it, Leo was getting concerned too. When the door opened, they were both hoping that whoever it was would give them some news as to what was going on; as Oliver went to go grab some more supplies in a frantic rush, he didn’t even stop to say hi to the two of them. This made Vern worry even more and unfortunately his worries weren’t going to be quelled anytime soon.
Another hour passed, the minutes ticking away at an increasingly slower pace. Vern and Leonardo had ceased their Go Fish game a long time ago at this point, and now they just sit sat there on the living room couch with their various Pokemon. Leo’s Wurmple and his Treecko were crawling around on the ceiling, bored, while Vern’s multitude of Pokémon all decided to cuddle with him on the cushions. With Oliver’s house now being his new “storage” facility, Vern didn’t have to even think about the six-only rule that the Pokémon Leagues tended to enforce. Here, he could spend time with all of his beloved Pokémon at once. The doors burst open from where his mother had been giving birth, and Grandma and Oliver Norewood motioned for Vern and Leonardo to enter. They got up eagerly and Vern was allowed to go in first before Leo.
Entering the birthing room, Vern braced himself for the worst, remembering the cries from before. With a bunch of pillows resting behind her, a pile of heavily blooded towels in one corner of the room, and his mother resting exhaustedly in the middle of the room, a small bundle in her arms… Wait. One? There was supposed to be twins? His thoughts must’ve been plastered onto his face, because his mother’s tear-stained eyes motioned towards Miss Alice Norewood. In her arms, she held the second bundle, but her eyes were clouded over in grief… Vern understood. He ran over to Miss Norewood; she showed to him the bundle that she was carrying. ”His name is Gabriel.” Eyes watering, Vern couldn’t look away from his stillborn baby brother. He reached out to hold him, taking him from Alice, and he gently rocked the lifeless Gabriel back and forth in his arms. He had a full head of black hair, just like their mom, and his face looked so sweet and innocent... Vern couldn’t stop crying at the sight. He kissed the top of his baby brother’s forehead, and quietly handed him back to Miss Norewood. Now, he wanted to see the other one. Vern went over to where his mother was and crouched down beside her. No words were spoken between them; they knew what the other was feeling, and his mother gave to him the second bundle. ”This is Angel.” She told him as he gazed at the baby girl that lay in his arms. She looked up at Vern with her bright brown eyes, her head of bright blonde baby hair shining in the evening’s pale light. He laughed a little, watching her pink self move around in his arms and she looked around at the great big world around her. She started crying, and Vern started to freak out! ”Ah! What do I do? I didn’t mean to make her cry…” He tried to soothe her, but to no avail, instead she just kept crying and crying, until eventually his mom just told Vern to give her back. Of course, she immediately stopped crying as soon as she was back into their mother’s arms.
Vern felt a heavy hand place itself on his shoulder, and he looked behind him to find Oliver standing there. ”I’m sorry…” By the look on his lover’s face, he was probably feeling worse about Gabriel’s fate than Vern was. There had been nothing any of them could do, and that fact weighed heavily on Oli’s heart. Vern put his arms around his boyfriend, embracing him.
(July 1st)
The summer weeks were going by quickly, and soon enough it was already the first of July for Vern Keliikoa. Oliver’s parents had managed to get himself a part-time job working as a pianist for a popular local restaurant. The place paid pretty well, Vern didn’t have to (basically) prostitute himself or get forced into girly outfits whenever his boss or coworkers so felt like it, and he got to do something that he loved so much! Playing music! That’s all he had to do, was sit and play the restaurant’s grand piano, and occassionally if a guest asked, he’d do special requests (if of course he knew how to play it or was given the sheet music). He went to the restaurant every evening for several hours, and he typically earned about fifty to sixty dollars a night. Which was nice! Whenever Vern came home, he’d either help out the Family with making dinner, help take care of Angel, help take care of the Pokemon that the Norewoods raised (since they were Pokemon Breeders), or if there was nothing else that could be done by the time he came home, Oliver would take Vern upstairs a little early and they’d make love. Well, the love making was done regardless of if there were any chores that had to be done, it would just occur a little later in the night! Then of course, every morning they’d start the day off with someone making breakfast –often Vern, now that the Family had another person to help with the meals- while the others fed and took care of the Pokémon. There was goofing off around the middle of the day, when lunch was being prepared –a job which alternated between Vern and Alice- the Family would hang out together and talk about whatever. A few hours later, and the Family would be back to doing more chores again, but at that point most of them tended to just involve taking care of the Pokémon. At three in the afternoon Vern would leave for work, and though he had had his driver’s license for over a year by now, something about the clean, refreshing, air of Fortree City seemed just so wonderful. So, Vern didn’t really want to drive, when he could just as easily get some needed exercise. Most days, Leonardo de los Santos Blair, was over and visiting, typically helping out with the chores just like everybody else. Sometimes he even brought his friend “Ghostie” over, and the lot of them tended to goof around and overall get along pretty well.
But now, as the week became a Sunday, meaning Vern had off of work for the day. Inbetween all of the going ons at home and at work and his new baby sister, Vern had been thinking a lot about his Raikou. It’d rained a total of thrice since being in Fortree, and each time the young man had watched the storm, wondering if maybe she was out there. Of course, she never was, but Vern could still hope, and whenever the storm would end, he’d go over to the case that he kept the shattered Cherish Ball in; he’d forever remember his beloved Raikou.
Today was the day, that Oliver was taking Vern down to the tattoo parlor to finally get the tattoo that he’d been wanting since… The day his Raikou left to go live her life. Leonardo was actually a pretty good drawer, so when he showed Vern one day a drawing he’d made of Raikou, he’d ended up really liking it. It had been so good, that Vern decided that that was the tattoo he was going to be getting; it was simple, awesome, and exactly what he wanted. The only issue with getting a tattoo, was that he had to sit still for several hours as somebody stuck a needle into his back and drew on him. Arceus… He hated needles, he had been in the hospital so many times that he’d even developed a phobia of them. That’s what Oliver was for. He was there to comfort Vern, and just overall make sure he was okay. As the woman instructed the young man to lay down on his stomach, Oli started to tell Vern –technically again- about how he got his tattoos. He did his best not to get him to laugh, but the couple of times he did, the tattoo artist was skilled enough to know when to stop drawing and let him finish laughing. On another note, apparently that very same tattoo artist had been the one who’d done Oli’s way back when.
Overall, the boy behaved surprisingly well, and since the drawing was fairly simple, the woman was done in an hour and a half. ”Alright, I’m done!” She declared, putting the needle away, motioning for Vern to stand up. He got up –in a little bit of pain to be honest- and went over to check it out in the mirror for a second. In freshly laid ink, a black and yellow Raikou had been beautifully imprinted onto his back. A huge grin crossed both of the boys’ faces; they were both incredibly pleased with how it’d turned out.
Summary of Other Events
The remaining half of the summer went by smoothly. A few days after getting his tattoo, Iris came over and visited for a day or so. The two of them managed to get some battle practice in, and of course she had to bug him about that Counter Shield technique that he used in his final exam against Mister Azrael Lennon. He’d been happy to oblige, naturally. More importantly, he was able to bring Valene up to the same level as Rae again –since he didn’t like the two of them being unbalanced- as well as increase Spike’s strength a bit too! Both of those facts, Vern’d been quite pleased about. Still, then she left, and the summer went on as usual. At one point, Vern ended up rescuing a Ponyta caught in a poacher’s trap. Her leg had been broken in the trap, and when he got her out, she’d been unable to go anywhere; he took the wild-tempered Ponyta in and nursed her back to perfect health. Ever since then, Tova –the name he’d given to her- refused to separate from Vern and eventually became the newest member of his team. At another point, Vern wound up catching himself a Porygon too. How did he succeed in that? Well, he’d been complaining about computer problems for awhile and how he needed to update his virus protection software, when Miss Alice Norewood suggested getting a Porygon. Since he hadn’t the slightest clue how to obtain one, she ended up buying one from the Game Corner in Mauvile City (since Team Rocket’s take over, the place became just like the one in Celadon City, Kanto) and gave it to him. The two actually bonded pretty quickly, and Vern’s newly obtained Porygon was eventually named “Ryuichi”; he gets referred to as male despite being a sex-less Pokémon. For awhile, the main purpose of Vern even having Ryuichi was just so that he could go into his laptop and fend off nasty stuff while he was online, and protect his files. Eventually, the man-made Pokémon became a battling member of his team, too.
Every so often, another one of Vern and Oli’s friends would visit, and of course they’d have a splendid time in the process. But as the days got closer to the new school year, Vern could feel himself dreading having to leave his beloved behind. Sure, they’d still be able to skype chat on the weekends (preferably more frequently if possible), and they’d still call and text eachother. It just… wasn’t the same. During that time, in the last two weeks of summer, Leonardo ended up surprising Vern one day –after he’d been gone for a week and a half- with an Up-Grade for his Porygon! According to the younger boy, he just couldn’t let himself not properly thank Vern for the Fire Stone, so he got him the Up-Grade as a thank-you present. Overall, Vern had an amazing summer, especially when his mother finally filed for divorce!
Then school became only a few days away, and Vern packed his stuff for the coming year. For now, he’d leave behind his two starters and bring Tova and Ryuichi in with him at the beginning of this new school year, as well as Nala. Maybe this year, they wouldn’t have to evacuate the school, or fight against an evil organization bent on taking over the world, and just simply have a regular year.
Only Arceus knew how wrong his hopes were going to be!

(First day of school)
Vern entered through the gates of the Academy, eager for the new school year but also dreading the fact that he was going to be away from his boyfriend for the next nine months. But oh well, at least he still had his other friends to look forward to, including Iris, Niara, Lacus… All of them! He was dressed in his school uniform, the last year he’d ever have to wear it, with a light amount of eyeliner on because well… It was the first day of school! You had to look presentable on the first day! Anyways, around his neck he had a fresh ring of bruises on the left side from the night before, but thankfully the collar to his uniform hid most of it.
Beside him to his right, he had Ryuichi floating around, happy to finally get a chance to meet some of his trainers other friends. Sitting on his head was adorable little Nala, now a year old and ready for some adventure…! Yeah no not really, she was in reality lounging there on his black hair and purring with utter laziness and with absolutely no desire to do much exercising so early in the morning. On another side of the Courtyard, Vern spotted with his little eye… A Haruno! An Iris Haruno! Grinning, he found the perfect opportunity to sneak up on her and surprise her! First he walked at a normal pace over to Iris –not noticing the other two with her-; then, as he got nearer, he begun to tiptoe…
”GOTCHA!” Vern declared, getting his arms wrapped around her waist all of a sudden, and hugging his bestfriend. Seeing the familiar greenhair, Nala looked up from her nap, and peered over Vern’s blackhair to look at Iris. ”Neee, Clueless-chan, it’s good to see youuuu~”
Iris was still talking to Lel and Hana when she was suddenly wrapped around her waist and a 'Gotcha' was yelled. Iris gave a gasp before she looked behind her and saw Vern. She smile as she heard him call her Clueless and announce how good it was to see. While she laughed she decided to play a little trick. "Easy... it's still sore.." she pouted before she turned around and hugged him back "Gotcha!! It's stopped hurting weeks ago."
While Iris visited Vern and Oliver in Foretree, she had fun and saw Angel. Aside from that, she learned about the counter shield that she saw him use in battle with Azrael and also got a tattoo after seeing Vern and Oliver with these. After being challenged that she couldn't handle the trouble, she got a tattoo on a longer part of her body. It hurt but she was a trooper. On her body was a Mitsu Tomoe Symbol, a tattoo was done in honor of Koori, the Kyurem that she had raised from agg. Since she was part of the trio that included Reshiram and Zekrom, a the symbol felt right.
"Hey there...Vern. How are you... My mother was just asking about you and Naoki is looking for his 'Aniki' too."
Hana looked out from behind her human shield. Zorua was significantly less intimidating than its evolved form. Very deceiving. Still, she felt brave enough to come out from behind Lel and try greeting the little thing. "I... Um..." She pulled out her own pokeball. A pink cap where it was normally red. A custom, princess-made pokeball. For a moment, she struggled with trying to remember how to activate it and use it properly. But when she finally did get it, her togepi was let out. Toki toki! It smiled up at everyone. "My mahdehr in law gim me this one," She tried to explain her pokemon. She was sure they all must have known what it was. Everyone of them looked experienced.
Another strange boy came up, friends with miss Haruno by the looks of it. She watched them interact, curious about it all, and couldn't help but stare a while at them. "U-um... goo-ud Morn-ing," She managed to get out to the stranger.
Lel lit up his smoking cancer-stick, clicking his lighter back into its locked cap and sticking it back into his pocket. He took in a breath, letting the embers of the cigarette's tip glow hot and orange, then let out a long sigh of smoke. "Miért? Stop short in plan. Just best girl?" He didn't mean to be insulting. What he wanted to know, while he smoked away, was why she made a point of saying "female". Why not just "the best"? She was interesting, but maybe he'd hold off a final decision about her until after he'd actually seen her battle.
Iris looked at Hana, letting go of Vern. She watched as the girl brought out a togepi. Zoey looked at the pokemon and then transformed into a togepi as well. Iris listened as Hana explained that the togepi was a gift from her mother-in-law. Iris's eyes widened. "Mother-in-law?" Iris repeated. The girl looked to be Iris' age or younger. Before Iris could think more about it, Lel asked why she said 'best girl'.
"Well of course I want to be the best trainer. There's no doubt about that." Iris said, her fist up and clenched in excitement."I guess I got use to be called out on stuff because I am a girl. I mean I've heard that I've won things like sport games when I played because I was a girl. Which wasn't true but for some, it's the only excuse that they use to justify their loss. So now when I win, I want it to be a reminder to people like that it was a girl that trained harder than you and beat you..." Iris smiled.
Suddenly her phone chimed with a cute tone. She took out her phone and looked at message. "Marco wants to meet with me somewhere..." Iris said to herself. She chuckled to herself and texted him back, telling him to meet in the gardens. Once she press send, she looked at Vern, Hana, and Lel.
"Okay.. I'm going to leave for a moment. It's was really nice meeting you Hana and Lel and it's was great seeing you again Vern. She bowed to Hana and Lel before smiling at Vern. "Later.."
With Zoey and Ellie following her, Iris went to the gardens where she would meet Marco. She left with a smile and blush on her face.
He got tricked by Iris feigning pain! Gaw! Women and their tricks! "Uhhuh, I'm sure that's not the only thing that's hurting~" He teased her, referring to her boyfriend. "And I'm good. I'm going to be missing Oliver a lot this year, but he'll still be making trips out here every other weekend." He giggled as she talked about Naoki, and he smiled, "Awww. You're little brother is so cute. But Angel's cuter!"
That's when he finally noticed the other two... an incredibly handsome guy -but what was also really intimidating to him- and a small Japanese girl. The girl had out a little Togepi... That Vern just had to swoon over! "Ooooooooooh my Arceus, your Togepi is sooooo cute~!" He picked it up and hugged the baby Pokémon gently, and Nala suddenly developed the early-morning motivation to jump down from his head and play with the baby. Vul-pix!" She mewed, pawing at the baby; then the adorable velvet fox went up to the Japanese girl and rubbed against her. Obviously, Vern's Vulpix liked the girl already! "Oh by the way," He added, waving good-bye to Iris as she left to go bug Marco. "The name's Vern, Vern Keliikoa, and this cutie here is my Vulpix, Nala. And the one floating next to me is Ryuichi, my Porygon." Since Vern wasn't fully aware of her English-difficulties, he didn't realize that "Ryuichi" would probably be the easiest of the names for her to replicate, given that it was a Japanese name and all. The entire time, Vern never stopped smiling at the new student~
