So, you've got a test tribe and want to finally make it official? This is the place to come!

If your tribe is rejected, you will be given a list of reasons and will be able to submit another application in two weeks. If your tribe is accepted, you will be given further instructions. Acceptances and rejections will be given via PM by Modifox.

This application is to make it easier for a tribe to be reviewed, as well as for modifications to be handled by the shop's modifiers (Mali, Shi, and Spazzy), so please fill the form out accurately and thoroughly!


Before you continue, an important reminder!: just because a staff member give you the okay on something for your test tribe (in the main thread, via PM, etc.) it does not necessarily mean it'll pass the actual tribe application. When we're asked questions about a test tribe, we usually don't see the full picture, and things can change as you develop your tribe via concept editing and RP.

  • The only ones posting here should be test tribe owners. Anyone else's posts won't count. Those posts will be ignored and deleted.

  • Don't mess with the form. Just fill it out and post it.

  • Forms should be posted in this thread. There's no need to PM us your forms or anything like that. Just post them here.

  • Put all of your forms in separate posts. One post per form, please!

  • No bribing, whining, complaining, crying, etc. We're all adults/teenagers here, so let's act like 'em, alright?

  • A tribe must have a future Elder and five tribe members before it can be approved. Additionally, only one of the five tribe members can belong to the tribe's owner.

  • Tribes need to be clearly distinct from others. Don't make clones of other tribes and test tribes. Be creative!

  • Straight up cosplay tribes are not allowed. However, a tribe is allowed to be inspired by an aspect or concept from a show/book/etc. Example: The Akatsuki Tribe is inspired by an aspect of Naruto, but it isn't an exact copy.

  • Don't include another tribe in your tribe's history unless the owner of the other tribe approves. If you want your tribe's territory near an existing one's territory, you must have it cleared with that tribe. You need to get permission from the tribe's owner!

  • Many things besides the actual application will be reviewed. This includes, but may not be limited to: tribe activity, RP quality (if you have pages of one liners, this could be an issue), and other areas.

  • A tribe must have five full pages of RP before it can be accepted. This means page 1 doesn't count, even if it has the beginnings of RP on it! Only after you have completed page 6 and reached page 7 can you be considered.

  • Don't pester us about updating things. Updates will always be completed. However, RL comes first. Please don't pester us about updating this thread or anything like that. However, if your info hasn't been added after one (or more!) month, please PM Modifox to discuss the situation!

  • PM any questions to Modifox. Yup. Just PM them to Modifox

Elder: The tribe's leader. Every decision has to be run past them, and they are also the only ones who can pray to the Higher Beings.

Shaman: The medicine fox of the tribe takes care of any sick and ill foxes.

Hunter: A hunter is essential to a tribe, hunting down game (deer, elk, wild boars, gamefowl, small rodents, etc.) and supplying a majority of the food for the tribe.

Gatherer: A gatherer will help a hunter bring home a satisfyingly large kill, as well as collect herbs, plants, and any other materials needed.

Scout: A scout is responsible for finding out information and relaying important messages to the other tribes.

Carer: A carer could be considered a professional babysitter, watching over the kits in the tribe while the parents are away to make sure they come to no harm.

Tribe Member: Your standard member, an extra hand who can help with any of the above tasks.

Elder: The Elders have the abilities of all the ranks below.

Shaman: The ability to use small amounts of magicks. Nothing extreme like commanding oceans or anything, but small commands over earth, air, water, and fire. Providing some sparks to start a fire, breathing underwater for a short period of time, causing a fruit to fall from a tree with a small gust of wind, etc. The abuse of these powers, however, will result in Shamans being demoted. Along with that, if a fox is injured, spending time with Shamans (and the Carers, who assist and act as nurses when needed) means that their wounds can be treated faster and leave minimal scarring.

Hunter: Heightened senses. They can move quicker, and sense other foxes and creatures quicker and more accurately than others.

Gatherer: The ability to use ultrasonic-like pulses, to check surrounding areas for downed prey (not live animals, just kills!), herbs, and any other materials.

Scout: The ability to use telepathy, in order to send news faster. The telepathy is one way and they must be a few miles near the one receiving the message, unless they are talking to another Scout or an Elder.

Carer: The ability to sense auras for a short moment and get a general idea of what another creature is like (good/bad/neutral/dangerous/etc.), and to calm other foxes when they are in distress. They can also communicate telepathically with kits that are still in their BCR stage, similar to how Scouts use telepathy.

Tribe Member: No special abilities.

Elders: Two perks from the list below: one picked by the owner, and one selected randomly by RNG (Slightly different for tribes with original/different positions).
- To obtain rank perks for your Elder, please select one perk from the list and then PM the shop mule, Modifox, so we can RNG the second one for you in the main thread!

Shamans: Exclusive Shaman modification (coming soon!).

Hunters: Cheaper modifications in general, but less kits, since the parents are usually away.
- The price of all modifications is cut in half, 1 in 30 chance to lose a kit.

Gatherers: Cheaper metallic items, but more expensive tattoos.
- The price of all items is cut in half, an additional 30% added to tattoo prices.

Scouts: Cheaper tattoos, but more expensive metallic jewelry, since metal weighs the fox down and s/he is therefore slowed down.
- The price of all tattoos is cut in half, an additional 30% added to jewelry prices.

Carers: Potential kit bonus (1 in 30 chance to gain an extra kit. The maximum number of kits a litter can have is 6).
- 1 in 30 chance to gain an extra kit, an additional 30% added to all mod shop orders.

Tribe Member: No special perks.

Q: So we can just say we want to form a tribe? Like for example, if I wanted to create a tribe of evil/dark themed foxes, I just say so here?
A: Yes. But you must meet all of the qualifications for the tribe to actually be approved and made official!

Q: Can a tribe member breed with a tribe member from another tribe?
A: They will have to have more extensive RP history, and a blessing from the Elder/OOC tribe owner. And they will also have less kits than mates from the same tribe.

Q: Does the "five members" include the Elder, or is it five normal members (making six foxes with the Elder included)?
A: As it says, an Elder and five members. So, six foxes. But you can have larger tribes!

Q: Is the creator of a tribe (i.e. probably the owner of the Elder) allowed to require anything of the players of prospective member foxes? For example, a given degree of literacy (judged on at least one RP sample)?
A: Yes, you are allowed to make those types of requirements for a tribe and deny any tribe member applicants that fail to meet the requirements.

Q: What if someone wants to leave a tribe? Can my pet leave a tribe once it has joined one? Is it possible to set up a confrontation/meeting with the Elder to banish them if they really want to leave?
A: It depends on the situation. You'll want to go here!

Q: Are there any limits on the number of foxes who can be each position? Is that up to the elder of the tribe?
A: The number of foxes allowed to take a rank is entirely up to the Elder/OOC tribe owner.

Q: Can my tribe have two Elders?!
A: No, sorry! This has become too much of a common sight. Excluding a rare case or two, it is no longer allowed.

Q: Can an Elder step down and appoint someone else to be the next Elder?
A: This could happen if the Elder is no longer fit to preform their duties, but it would require RP between the current Elder and the fox that will be promoted.

Q: Are we allowed to come up with different names for the default hunter/gatherer/etc. ranks? Can we come up with entirely new ranks for our tribes?
A: Yes, you can! Include information for the rank(s) in your tribe thread and we'll give it a look when reviewing tribe applications. Please keep in mind that any new ranks you come up with will not have any special abilities/perks.

Q: Can different tribes merge together to become one bigger tribe?
A: After extensive RP, yes. The most common reason for this would of course two opposing Elders falling in love and wishing to bring their tribes together. However, this would cause a lot of conflicts, so it must not be taken lightly.

This was sitting in the old approval thread for days, so 'Rea told me to repost, haha.

'Rea gave me the okay some days ago to officialize this guy, since it technically does have 5-7 pages of RP, just spread out of a couple threads.

Premise and Beliefs of the Tribe
This tribe has a strong affiliation with darkness/shadows. The foxes of this tribe owe their lives to darkness, for darkness is a place to hide, a place to escape, a place to be accepted. Darkness does not discriminate; it will accept all who come to it. It does not illuminate your flaws, shine over you to reveal all that you are, all that you would rather conceal. It does not care. It allows you to maintain your secrecy, and hide in its depths. When the foxes came to darkness, darkness hid them from their enemies. Darkness did not retreat away from them; it embraced them.

All except those of light.

They welcome all who wish to find solace in shadows. As long as a fox cares for the tribe and will do the duties he or she is assigned, Kurai is accepting of them. The foxes are those who have either been turned away from the world of light, or those who would rather avoid light and come play in the dark.

Foxes here tend to be nocturnal, but diurnal foxes are not uncommon or strange here. The tribe land includes a thick wood enclosing a crag of black rock, a lake, and a clearing. At the base of one side of the crag, there is a lake with a seemingly perpetual fog hanging over it. On the other side of the crag, there is a clearing. In the center of the clearing, there is an enormous oak tree. The tribe itself has no affiliation to trees or nature, however, this tree is said to be the tree where their patron 'Deity first touched the earth.

Their patron 'Deity is the 'Deity of Darkness/Shadows, Kurai. He is the manipulator of shadows, he who created the darkness in which the foxes of this tribe found refuge. He is the one who accepted them, despite themselves. They pray to him, thanking him for his acceptance, and, in return for their loyalty, he continues to provide darkness.

Kurai is not a violent tribe by any means. They are a very reclusive tribe, and prefer to keep to themselves. They are not aggressive towards outsiders, but are not very welcoming at all.

The tribe does not have a detestation of light. They understand that light is going to be around no matter what they try. They simply have an aversion to light.

Modeities of the Tribe and Their Domains
Kurai, the 'Diety of the Darkness/Shadows.

What makes this tribe different than the others, both official tribes and other test tribes?
This tribe is a tribe for those who wish to find unconditional acceptance.

Now, that is what most tribes do. However, here in Kurai, even those with the most sinister of pasts, those who are ostracized and persecuted for whatever the reason can find a place to call home. The foxes do not need to run any more. Darkness welcomes all.
