This is the opening post for the RP and is sort of like a cover of a book.
Sometimes this first post will have some short blurb on what the RP is about as well as info on the RP's status (open/closed, accepting/not accepting), as below:
-open = the RP is active
-closed = the RP is not active, usually indicating that the RP has ended or the GM is still working on writing it up
-accepting = the RP is accepting new players
-not accepting = (general means smile the RP is not accepting new players
Other terms include:
-under construction = the GM is still designing/setting up the RP (thread)
-accepting reservations = sometimes, when the GM is not done setting up the RP, they'll be willing to let players call dibs on character roles
In the first post, you will also usually find links to RP relevant material (e.g. profile threads, OOC threads, etc.).

This post contains a more detailed run down of the background plot.
It'll list the important parties and give you and idea of the setting and the sorts of conflicts that are going on in the story.the Story
Summer camp. It's something that always has mix views from the people who attend them, from anticipation at the prospect of trying new things to resentment of the cafeteria food, although it's doubtful that anyone who came to this particular camp got what they expected. Once all of the parents had finally left, the campers were gathered in the dining hall, and buzzing with excitement over the things to come. They were waiting eagerly for the councillors to join the room and begin the opening ceremonies. A few would notice the unfortunate hiss. It didn't take long for all of the campers to drop like flies.
It's quiet and dark, and the loudest noise in the room is the sound of your own breathing. The crack between the door and it's frame is the only light source. A lightbulb above you waits to be screwed properly in place, but whether or not you notice it is a different story entirely. What lies beyond the door is a mystery to you, along with how you ended up in this place, but it is your job to get out.
If you choose to go through the door, different things could await you. There could be nothing or there could be some one in the same situation as you wandering around trying to find some answers. Your suitcases and anything else you might have brought are placed around the bunker along with food and water. You're supplied with everything you need to survive, now you have to find the way out.
This post contains the meat of the sandwich and you should use it to gauge the bulk of your interest.
Look out for a story that you will be willing to stick to with the the end.

Standard things you'll find in this post are rules on the required post length (how much you should be writing per post), the post frequency (how often you should be posting), procedures for profiles submission (including but not limited to special passwords, emotes you should include in a PM, or particular PM subject titles you should be using. These are usually in place so that the GM can verify that you have read the rules. Other times, it is to help them better keep track of what's in their inbox.) Other things include limits on how many characters you are allowed to play.the Rules
Follow the Gaia ToS. Keep this RP PG-13.
No godmodding or autohitting. Don't control anyone else's character without discussing it with them first. PMs and the OOC thread are here for this. If you feel that there has been any issues with this, please speak up or PM me.
This is a literate RP. The minimum is two paragraphs per post. It's hard to work off of small posts. Post at least once every four days if possible. Read all posts.
Be nice. Your character doesn't need to be friends with everyone, but you as a roleplayer should treat everyone else with respect.
Put your character's name and a picture in your post. You can decorate it more if you want; just don't go over the top. Drawn pictures only, please.
Fill out the short code first and then send it through a PM to Watervoir with the title 'No More Books'. When that is accepted, fill out the profile code and send it with the title 'Here We Go'. The profile code might be messed up when sent through PMs, but don't try to fix it. When your character is accepted, I'll add it to the profile thread. If you want to make any changes to your profile, just PM a note to the mule and I'll patch it up lickety split.
The OOC thread is a great place to conjure plots and to get to know people. Feel free to rack up the pages in there. Please try to talk to everyone and get to know them.
Only one character per player.
I reserve the right to edit the existing rules or make new rules if I feel the need. No changes to the rules will go unannounced.
There is usually also a brief mention of the Gaia Terms of Service and a warning against cybering, of which is not allowed anywhere on Gaia.
Each RP has variations of the rules so it's good to always have a look over this section, just in case.

Try to contribute to the RP by adding to this cast and making a character that is unique to the story (but not too far out there that they'll end up being a lone wolf -- an RP is about interaction, after all). This post will also sometimes have information on the various character roles that are pertient to the story, such as Mafia boss, cook, princess, city guard, etc. (this RP doesn't have particular character roles).

Try to follow the instructions your GM gives you about filling it out, such as by only giving a paragraph of information when asked for a paragraph of information, or by using a specific picture size as requested. It leaves a better impression on yourself as an RPer and your profile will look tidier when it's accepted and pasted up beside everyone elses.

The bunker is one level.
There are security cameras hidden around the bunker. Some are more obvious than others.
There is no cellphone service in the Bunker.
The Bunker is well kept and clean. It's built completely out of concrete and the doors are metal. The rooms that the character wake up in are empty. The only rooms that have anything in them are the rooms that have food and the campers' luggage. All the luggage is scattered in different rooms. The food is in the same room. There is one bathroom, which has only a toilet and a sink. There are about fifteen to twenty rooms. I will make a more exact number and post a rough diagram of the bunkers layout.
The content of any extra posts vary depending on the RP, with some examples as follows:
School/Uni: dorm info, class schedule info, calendar
Series/Misc: if there's any grey area in the original series, the GM might choose to clear them up here
Slave RPs: slave collar/category ratings
