xxxAND SO... Ryo Aokawa hails from the Aokawa clan, along with his brother, Ryu Aokawa. Ryo and Ryu always had this rivalry going between them ever since they entered the academy. Even though both were energetic, Ryo seemed to be generally happy all the time as an kid. Ryo's goal to become an excellent shinobi and become like his idol, Hitoriki Battousai. However, Ryo and Ryu had their differences. They came from different branches that were currently waging war against each other, the Hare and the Bear. Both of them striven for an sacred weapon that was an ancient relic crafted by the founders of the Aokawa Clan. This was the Mizukami, The Legendary Eledia of Water. Only a descendant of true blood can wield this weapon. Ryo and Ryu were the two candidates. Tradition had to be enforced. Both of them had to decide their differing fates. A battle to the death. That would soon unravel. How were the boys suppose to avoid this? Their father disapproved of this, but never had a place to reek judgement. This was a tragedy. Ryu was distant from Ryo. This worried the boy. Was he okay? That day forth, Ryo trained with his father to learn the way of the swordsmen because if he held back that would cost him his life as well. No holding back. It seems that there was no turning back either. Ryo was forced to accept as well as Ryu. This was all for the tradition. Raindrops fell upon the surface, much like angels falling from the heavens. Both opponents goals countering. The two boy had darkness silhouetting their facial. Who will win? The answer to that question was closer than you had imagined. Both swords clashed. The differing forces deemed to be equal. This lead into later clashes. What was the outcome? Ryu gathered a crowding tidal wave of water. A slash of Ryo's blade infiltrated the barrier. He came to find nothing. Where was his opponent?! Before the boy could react, Ryu appeared directly above him. Ryo was strucken down by the slash of a blade. His brother was victorious. Though, that was false. Ryu fell to his knees. His lifeless body met the surface. Ryo was the victor. He was nominated the rightful owner of the Mizukami. But, there was sudden attack on the Aokawa. The clansmen were in a pursuit to counter the situation. Ryo ran with his parents, currently in his kimono garb. The flames of anguish interfered his escape. A masked boy in a cloak was standing in front of him. He held out a hand. A flash on his eye revealed a resemblance to Ryu. Ryo took a step forward, but a pile of fiery wood fell in front of his path. Who was that? There was no time to think. Clutching his wound, he had to find safety. The clan was in havoc and mayhem. The boy managed to escape. The Mist ninja were already putting out the fires. Flames were dimming, later vanishing into ashes. The clan was destroyed that night. All of the clansmen were devastated. Who were the terrorists that commited this crime? The whereabouts are unknown. Ryo's eyes came to a close as well as the others. The funeral of Ryu was scheduled just after the cause. Afterwards, Ryo attended the academy to prove his worth as a shinobi and later graduated. The years have passed. Things were becoming better. The incident that happened a few year back had already been forgotten. As a teenager, he has an stubborn, impulsive, short-tempered, and strong-willed personality. His outspoken, hot-headed demeanor is a trait Ryo himself has acknowledged, and if somebody picks a fight with him, he cannot help fighting back. He is genuinely compassionate and empathetic towards others, promising to bring flowers and a toy plane, or soothing others when they become upset. The boy strives to become a great ninja and hopefully be remembered. 。

Five years later in his storyline, the clan remained under construction. Ryo has grown older. He especially became mature over the years as well. What happened five years ago slowly slipped away. He had to move on and look forward. The past can't keep him from walking the path of the shinobi. His life has started a fresh new start. This all begins as a opening of his door to the outside world. 。
