Biography: Melissa has always had emotional issues. As a child was was a bit of a spoiled brat/princess type from a relatively rich family and thus most people tended to ignore her little tantrums when she didn't get her way. She made good grades in school but had a rather spotty permanent record due to her tendency to talk back to adults and get in fights with other kids. Still most people just wrote her off as an aggressive kid.
During her middle school years she seemed to mellow out. she became passive aggressive and often expressed annoyance rather than full on anger. This is where she first met Jace. The two got along well but never really payed much attention to eachother, that is until the school bully decided to mess with them, and a few other people. Melissa had finally gotten fed up with his crap and gave him the beating of a lifetime, getting her sent to alternative schooling. Once she returned a couple of weeks later, most kids in her grade avoided her. Jace however was actually grateful that she knocked the guy off his pedestal and the two became close friends. During this time, Jace taught her everything he could about computers.
By time she had entered high school she had become firey in temperament. Her anger issues had finally shown to be a major problem, namely when she got angry at her mother and struck her with a hammer. Her mother survived (luckily Melissa didn't aim for the head) and Melissa was sent to a psych ward, mainly because her mother came to fear her now murderous anger issues. Melissa felt she didn't belong there, and to most, she truly didn't, however the guilt from almost crushing her mom's sternum with a hammer served to mellow her out. She found that she couldn't let her anger control her, if she did, she was no better off than the people in the ward. a few weeks after this realization, she was sent home.
Upon returning home, she had heard about Jace's new project and was asked to help with testing and maintenance. Melissa wanted to help her friend, and her parents, namely her mother, thought that a virtual school would be a much more hospitable environment to her temper so she was allowed to participate in the Virtua Project. She is now one of the 6 admins and thought to be the calmest one...that is until you push her a bit...
Personality: Due to her past experiences, Melissa is mellow and calm most of the time. She often uses her power as a mood ring and makes a habit of bottling her emotions both to hide her abilities from potential challengers and the keep herself from doing things she would regret. It takes a lot to get her angry, and a lot of calm her down though. She's very protective of her friends and stands by them no matter what. She has little patience for freshmen though, especially uppity ones who think they're the s**t, and makes a habit of breaking down arrogance.
