A forest of Green
Nano 2013
Tokala's vision was filled with green as she looked around. She had gotten used to the dreamery, she enjoyed living in the city. There were a lot of people and manifest, there was all ways something interesting going on. Now she was in a forest, the tall green leaved trees towered above her. She had known that they would eventually go to the world that her guardian was from and knew that she had lived in a forest. She had not expected it to be so remote and in the middle of nowhere.
She had been expecting a small village or something not one small wooden cottage. Still the forest was peaceful and it was a quaint little house, there as green ivy growing up the sides making patterns as it wound its way up and for the place of a person who was used to living alone it had quite a few rooms. It seemed that the house was not as little as the outside suggested it was although it still would not be considered large. It would take a bit of time to get used her new home but it was nice and an interesting change from the city she was used to.
Somehow she wasn't surprised that her guardians home was a place full of green, the older woman's outfit was mostly green with a bit of brown. The light that managed to filter through the leaves was tinted green. While the forest seemed to have a thick canopy were the oak trees where most of the forest was made of evergreens. They stood tall and let in a lot of light with their needle like leaves. Even in winter the forest would still be covered in green. A winter wonderland full of white and green would be an interesting scene indeed.
Still there had to be a village or something around somewhere, it might take a while but she would find it eventually. It would give her something to look for as she wandered around. After all how big of a forest could it be? Exploring would have to wait for later though; right now she had to unpack her things. The inside of the house was not lacking in green either. Most of the blankets and sheets were green as were the curtains for the windows.
The natural all woodsy feeling of the house was nice and all but it could use more colors, a three color pallet, two if you count the two shades of green as one, was a bit dull. The house could use another color, maybe a blue or something. She would have to think about it, but Tokala was determined de-green the house a bit. Flowers seemed to be a good place to start, there were a lot of them, and they were natural and came in many different bright colors. It wasn’t that there was anything wrong with green, it’s just that there seemed to be a bit too much green and brown in the house, the forest you can’t really complain about because that’s its thing but the house had plenty of room for improvement. There would be a rainbow of flowers in the house by the end of the week and then maybe she’d move on to her guardian’s wardrobe.
