have you ever fallen into an entertainment feud?

i have always loved Leo DiCaprio and so much want to see Gatsby but we are on a budget and he just wants to see Iron Man which would be all right but hey, we already saw the first two! so it is not truly "fresh", at least no to me.

now we may end up just staying home and staring at each other!

angrily!

i always give in with these conflicts.

so i end up as a compliant but entertainment-deprived companion.

one of the many joys of singlehood. i go to movies alone. no negotiation needed.

IM3 was on youtube in its entirety a while ago and may pop up again. piracy is great when you are on a budget.

i believe piracy is ALWAYS great!

those royalties never reach the true artists anyway, just little guys in suits in glass towers.

This.
I'm getting tired of being single, though. Maybe I'll do something about it eventually. *procrastinating*

The second hand theater does movies for 2.50, so sometimes I go there, but they're limited in what they can offer. Sometimes the bigwigs in the major theaters keep the smaller ones from offering movies because they want to keep milking the ticket sales.

I watch a lot of movies on youtube now. There's a subreddit that lists them as they're found. I ended up seeing IM3 that way.

I'm getting tired of being single too. I got so many hangups about not being able to be who I want to be for someone though. Woe is me!

Oh, absolutely. Kav and I have completely opposite tastes! I'm a strictly chick flicks and comedies kind of girl - definitely no horror or gore, much to his disappointment! James Bond was one of the first middle grounds we found, so we wound up watching pretty much all of them. xd Anyway, I'll be watching Fast and the Furious with him in the next couple of weeks, so we manage to compromise most of the time. But don't even get me started on music... xp

Movie tickets are $19 here. If work didn't sell vouchers for $12 (they just increased the price from $10 which was a little bit heartbreaking) I'm not sure I would find the movies worth it at all.

What fine local films? The Australian film industry is not exactly booming! As in, I could count on one hand the number of Australian movies I've watched in the last five years. >.>

For everyone tired of being single:

Hello. cool

Yo. cool
Mystery person, wrapped inside an enigma.
You live a significant distance from me. Unless you've moved and haven't mentioned it. ninja

As a note, I waste a lot of money on sci-fi movies in theaters. If it's a sci-fi movie, and it's in a theater near me, I want to watch it.

me too, but more on the fantasy side and less on the science. my significant other however prefers sci-horror, which i pretend to tolerate.

I tend to go for classic sci-fi (my most-liked semi-recent sci-fi movies are District 9 and Looper), but I do enjoy fantasy. Epic, for instance, was a pretty cool movie. Totally worth seeing in theater.

Since it comes out on my birthday and involves Mass Effect reminiscent body armor AND giant robots fighting giant monsters, I must see Pacific Rim, even though I expect an ultra-campy movie. Also, planning to see Ender's Game and be disappointed, just like I was disappointed in World War Z.

...I watch a lot more movies in theater than I should. sweatdrop
