The Guard Tower - Durem The Durem guard tower is a relic of a fortification not used in the world today. It differs from both a regular tower in that its primary use was military, and from a turret in that it is usually a freestanding structure. Its main purpose is to provide a high, safe place from which observations may be made. In some cases, non-military towers, such as religious pagodas, may be used as watchtowers.

Stopping for no man or machine Gamma pulled on the horn several times as he weaved through traffic. Mostly people, but five tons of truck wasn't an object you could bargain with.
Gamma hit a corner and turned north sharply, pitching the truck onto three wheels.

Bracing himself in the back he looked over the crowds they were traveling through. No hostilities so he wouldn't have a need to expend any ammuntion on them. His right hand held the 40mm "sodomy" cannon at the ready, a tungsten carbide shell in the chamber.

He stepped onto the grounds surrounding the Guard Tower. His attention drifted from the base of the tower to the top, where he figured he'd at least get a good look at the surrounding area. Maybe pinpoint any strange sights.
"Alright...let's get to it."
Athan stepped towards the ancient structure's entrance. Assuming that he wasn't going to be barred entrance, he had a long walk ahead of him to get to the top.

After the lengthy ascent, Athan took a moment to gather himself before posting himself on the western section of the guard tower. He leaned up against the wall, staring out at the city of Durem.
"Hell, shouldn't be too hard. These things are usually pretty easy to see. Like that damn cat."
He remained posted atop the tower for quite some time, diligently scanning the surrounding area. His head was starting to throb slightly, but it was nothing he couldn't handle.

"Feh..."
Athan tapped his fingers along the wall's edge before he pulled away from the vantage point. He was at a complete loss as to what to do now. Hardly anything seemed feasible at the moment. Maybe the buildings were in his way, or perhaps the chaotic event just so happened to be confined to a small area.
"Might as well."
He exited the tower, then headed westward, towards the military housing.

Being on a bike had many advantages than being in a car, the main one being one could easily weave in and out of traffic and avoid large vehicles, such as the large truck he had managed to avoid before it turned North. Anyway, details aside, Ruuvan was now standing at the entrance to the guard tower with the bike silenced behind him and the doors already opened - someone was here before him. Well, just because someone else had already been here, it didn't mean there wasn't a Petal ready to be found, eh?
So, taking a deep breath and composing himself for yet another long climb up to the top of this building, Ruuvan made his way up the stairs until he emerged at the top. Needless to say the view from up here was just as good as from the Clock Tower, but whether or not he could see anything was a different matter.

"Nothing here ethier!" Kit yelled through the slience, he broke into a run, wanting something to really do now... He growled a disapointed growl and turned the corner.

Where the heck was Athan? The guy ditched him! Well, it was the other way around, but still! He cursed him under his breath and hoped a bad luck onto him, not too much, he still was a friend.
He ran through the military district's roads.

And so he could see nothing of interest from the top of the tower, definitely no petals up there. With this confirmed in his mind, Ruuvan made his way to the bottom of the tower where he had left the Yamaha by the door. A quick throttle of the engine and he was away, heading West towards the Military Housing.

A manhole moved. Grumbled, turned, rolled, until if was finally out of it's hole. Slowly, a girl covered in grime, blood and soiled waters came out of it, completely naked.
Only to crash on the pavement and pass out there.

Away from the church now, the minivan started past the guard tower. Where the ******** was the military for crises like this?
