I keep playing over the ending to TWEWY in my head and I always end up saying the same thing; "What happened during the 4th week, AKA the Re-Game with Joshua and Neku?"

What ends up following is my imagination flowing and fleshing everything out into something I think that, if someone with the skill and capability put the time and effort into it, it could be something amazing.

It always ends up with my OC ending up being Neku's partner, something I think could work out in the long run due to a sort of odd compatibility between end-game mindset Neku and my character's personality. It also has it that my OC is also the Reaper in charge of that weeks game, although he is taking an active role in the game to keep an eye on Neku to see if he had truly changed.

The thing that I always end up going back to the most, however, is what I refer to as my OC's final words to Neku after he defeats him. I remember one set of line clearly, so I'll post them up here.

"You think I did this just for you?... Heh... Neku... You still have a lot to learn..."

"Huh? What the hell do you mean by that!?"

"Heheh... Think about it, Phones... The world doesn't end with you... The world ends with everybody... There isn't just one person in the end, but rather there is a world of people linked by a web of connections... Love and hate, friendships and memories... All of it, connected into a giant net holding the world together... If we let those connections break and die away, or even worse, never let them form, the world as we know it will be gone... The world doesn't end with you, Phones... It ends with everybody... But it begins with you... You already have a few going now, don't you?... Make 'em stronger for m-... Nah... Don't make 'em stronger for me... Do it for yourself... And for everyone..."

When you beat the game, during the ending it shows that Neku is once again part of the game. I consider that the unofficial "4th week."

That's actually Neku in the RG, thinking he's in the Game again. That's why RG residents and Neku's friends - now alive - could see and interact with him. At least, that's what I'm assuming - the "4th Week" may have an appearance somewhere.

I'm assuming in the sequel that Neku is going to be in the Game again, despite the fact Joshua banned him from playing again, but we'll see.

I personally think that Neku had to play one last week because, in my personal opinion, he didn't get his reason for being a part of the game in the first place until he was re-killed by Joshua. Therefore, with his reappearance in the exact same place as the first three times, I think he is a part of a different, completely new game made specifically tailored to him.

As far as the sequal goes, I think Neku will be portrayed as the main bad guy, but will end up being an angel and act like a Protoman-styled Hanekoma.

Technically, since Neku was Joshua's proxy for his game, I think the fact that Neku appeared in the Scramble all 3 Weeks and when he was resurrected was either just coincidence or Joshua's choice. Neku probably does have one last Week to play, but I don't think it's the time after he wakes up. Maybe he played Game 0 before his being-Joshua's-proxy Game, which could possibly be a prequel to the game that will hopefully either come before or after the sequel. Either way.

And the sequel, I'm just hoping Joshua makes an appearance, so as long as he does, I won't mind much.

in an unrelated topic, but still somehow there
wouldn't the appearance of the TWEWY gang in Traverse Town be considered another week, unnoticed and unofficial at the same time by TWEWY and Kingdom Hearts Fans alike. If you think about them being there in Traverse Town a little more than just the usual TWEWY fan that would just go nuts to see them in 3D instead of the usual drawing-like form in their own game.

Just see it as this, Wouldn't the "4th Week" be in Traverse Town.

Also Lavi, on DA, I've been digging up some old things I've been looking for some old stuff that I used to work on, but with my work schedule being crazy, I can only do so much.

The appearance of the main TWEWY players in Traverse Town actually isn't "them" in reality. Joshua states in-game that the main Players "died," so he took the last remnants of their dreams and found haven in Traverse Town. If you think about it closely enough, Joshua himself is probably the only "real" person in Traverse Town; the rest took form because, as dreams take real forms in that world, Neku's dreams made a Neku, Beat's dreams made a Beat, and so on. [The same concept of dreams from other people taking form as Spirits or Nightmares.]

EDIT: I thought about this again after rereading your inquiry, and I don't think their appearance in DDD makes it a 4 Week; I mean, Joshua is still the Composer and all, explained by his random sprouting of wings and that; he's still watching the "Game" as he switches from window to window to keep an eye on the separated partners and; Joshua is probably still the Composer because he knows by him interfering somehow in that world, it would cause a magnitude of problems, which is why, in Another Day, the legit Joshua from our "canon" game stayed in the Room of Reckoning while the Another Day Joshua interacted with his friends; Joshua purposely didn't make an appearance because he knew there was another one of himself in that dimension. Neku-tachi, on the other hand, are all pieces of dreams; the sad part is, because there are no visible Reapers in DDD and because Neku clearly states that he knows the Nightmares are not the Reapers, I can assume he's playing the Game, but not the offical 4 Week.

That was long... But I back my stuff up, just sayin'.

And I'm sure digging up some old stuff ain't gon' hurt. I looked at one of my old projects and nearly threw my computer across the room, but that's beside the point.

Point proven, though I beat 3D a while ago, the story is somewhat forgotten, mostly due to me playing birth by sleep as Ventus, since I beat Terra and Aqua's stories already. Piecing out the whole story with only 2 of the 3 parts doesn't make a complete puzzle.

Also, when was Genji last on? Me and Zetta are trying to figure out what to due for the long awaited RP without the starting GM
