"Possessing an ethereal grace that belies her natural charm, she is an altruistic being whose serenity brings peace to those about her. Her fragile beauty is warmed by her kind manner and glowing spirit."
... maybe someday. Right now, she's still a little naive, shy, young-of-heart. RP interactions will help. xD

Mia may be described most accurately by her passions...

Nature:
The natural world fascinates her.
She prefers the solitude of forests/meadows/natural landscapes to city-dwellings; manufactured products and paved roads are distasteful to her, though she will accept those that seek only to mimic the beauty that is found in nature (without tearing it away from the place it belongs)- for example, the fabric of her clothing is reminiscent of a gentle breeze, moss, fresh grass...

Nature's inhabitants:
Living things.
Even the soil is alive, tiny creatures and nutrients entwined in harmony that feeds larger lifeforms.
Though she prefers a rock to a stoic male, a rolling hill to a pretty female, she can't seem to tear herself away from the plights of humanoid beings. She can be found trying to help those in need, though she would not push where she is not welcome... unless she is not welcome because someone else is pushing harder and in a dangerous fashion, of course!

Strengths :

Peaceful disposition
Calm and quiet; tranquil.
It is difficult to get a "rise" out of her; though she is quick to come to the verbal defense of one against whom an injustice has been committed, she would hesitate to intervene lest they come to physical harm. If there is any way to resolve an issue peacefully, she will seek it; if not, she will bend to survival instincts and engage another in battle.

Introspective
Self-examination and reflection that leads to increase understanding and knowledge of oneself.

Tidy
She seeks to minimize her negative impact on the world, and so keeps her "messes" contained. Although she maintains a high standard of personal hygiene, she can often be found with soil upon the soles of her un-shod feet and debris in her hair. (Surprisingly, her delicate garb is a sensible choice, for the silken does not pick up much debris!- though the lace can get grubby at times...)

Modest
Though she is capable of recognizing beauty in its many forms, she is not a vain creature and cares little for her own charms. Her one assignation to the pleasing components of her form is her coloration: eyes of sun-touched soil and bark, hair of soft green things. Even that is more an ode to Nature than recognition of a personal attribute.
She is aware of the virtues of her personality, though would recite them more as prose or independent concepts than as a description of herself.

Moral, innocent, honorable.

Weaknesses :

Soft-hearted/Emotional Her Peaceful nature can be a burden at times; she may hesitate to respond violently to an attack due to her dislike of violence, thus leaving herself open to further attack.
Creatures great and small pull on hear heartstrings; she'd willingly sacrifice herself for an animal (her survival instinct... not that great)... luckily, her defensive magic is strong, and so she does remember to shield before throwing herself in between an animal and its attacker. She spends much of her times outdoors, so has built lean muscle and has sufficient endurance for many physical activities... but her ability to wrestle down her compassion is lacking.

Talents/Hobbies :

Gardening: Tending beauty, care-taker of the natural world; though she dislikes interfering to great extent and prefers untamed wilderness to neatly tamed rows, she will occasionally prune and water/nourish plants and has developed a certain fondness for the activity...
She has not sought to control plant growth magically because she does not wish to interfere with nature, although she considers "helping a plant along" using her own 2 hands to be within the realm of acceptable assistance.

Assist(ing): Helping others without expectation of personal gain/benefit. (Different from accepting reasonable payment for a job.) Though gratitude expressed in flowery phrases is often met with a gentle blush, she does appreciate a simple "Thank you"- but as long as a good deed is done, she is content with the knowledge.

Age : 19; seems younger when smiling/laughing.
Gender : Female
Sexual Orientation : ... p-pardon? One may assume that she would recognize beauty in any of its forms. (Mia doesn't know IC. She's rather naive for 19.)
Stage : 2nd.

Race : Witch
Eye Colour : Warm brown woodland eyes, a touch of Redwood bark in direct sunlight.
Hair Colour : Pale green.
Hair Length and Style : Tumbling to just past her waist, lightly-layered and thick yet fine enough to blow lightly in a gentle wind.
Skin Tone : Sun-kissed; skin darkened by years spent outdoors, but still soft and supple (thanks to youth).
Body Build : 5'6". Fragile, willowy.
Fashion : Translucent material, delicate lace framing the edges of the soft fabric. Though modest folds covered her bodice, her sun-touched skin shows through on her arms and legs. She often wears no shoes, to better feel the landscape and remain in contact with the natural world.

Magic Theme : Shielding/Healing. Elemental (predominantly Earth/Air, though she will pursue mastery of Water for its healing capacity).
Abilities :
Shielding (using elemental magic for defensive tactics- particularly hardening/strengthening the air around her to create a shield, and creation of hardened earth for defensive tactics- for example, creating a temporary obstacle to block someone from following her).
Healing shall be her primary study (a long journey to hard-earned mastery)- pursuing healing is a natural extension for someone who wishes to help others.
Occupation : She takes on odd jobs, preferring to earn her way in the world over receiving charity. She has a talent for gardening.
Battle Style/Magic/Alchemy: ... avoids battle; if forced, would defend defend defend!
Favored Weapon/Item: (See above).
Notable Skills: Creation and maintenance of a full-body shield. She can hold her strongest shield the longest when concentrating and holding perfectly still; if she tries to shield and escape, her shield may flicker while she movies, especially if she is particularly distraught or emotionally distressed. She may be able to extend the shield in future years to push matter away from her, as a sort of offensive "Get away from me."

Quote: "All life is inherently worth protecting."

History: Mia was an unexpected blessing, late in life. Her parents were just past their prime, her mother beginning to transcend her child-bearing years, and they had just suffered the loss of their son. Mia never knew her brother, though she was told that he was strong and kind- and reckless. Foolish, even, when it came to his own safety.
Upon reaching his year of majority, he had traveled far from their family home in Woodfall... and came too close to Riftwood. Arrogant for his youth, he followed the gentle tug of the eerie fog and was forever lost in the forest's depths. His parents assumed his heart had been stolen, though none could truly know his fate, and withdrew from their modest social life to nurse their hurt.
With Mia, they were determined not to make the same mistake. They kept her sheltered, coaching her on the dangers of the world, and her father trained her relentlessly in defensive tactics. Mia's elemental magic was strong, and though her natural talent was great, she lacked the fine motor skill for subtly and finesse at such a young age.

Her mother passed away peacefully when she was 9 years old, just on the cusp of womanhood. Her father clumsily attempted to take on the role of both Father and emotional caretaker, though he was suffering the loss of his wife greatly and thus rather gruff in his attempts to guide his little girl's emotional journey.

As she grew, so did her grace, and her defensive tactics became more of an Art than a child's clumsy attempts at spell-casting. She remained resistant to her father's lectures on placing one's life above all else, understanding that it was his attempt to protect her from the same fate as her Brother and not some inherent superiority complex that drove her beloved father's occasional rants. Although she accepted defense as necessary in a harsh world, she remained rather naive- unexperienced, in the ways of the heart and interacting with others.
She began to realize that she could not flourish at Woodfall. In the summer of her 18th year, she made a case for herself, as a strong-minded young woman, to be allowed to travel and learn from Masters of magic... and book-lore held only in the greatest of libraries. It took a full year's convincing before her father would hear of it, her patience and clarity winning out over his resistance. In the spring, she set out from Woodfall, a satchel across her shoulder and a keepsake around her neck- a fine green ribbon, wrapped once about a lucky stone her father had gifted her for her 13th summer. She brought with her, too, her mother's wide-brimmed hat- a fine tool for long hours spent bent over an ailing plant, and a small token to satisfy her father's fretting (You'll get sun-fever if you stay out like that, Mia.)

A young woman beginning what may be a long journey, she now travels the lands in search of answers.

Plots: For goodness' sake, development. Many encounters to throw her into new situations and see how she will react, how I can expand upon the basis of her personality... and see how she can strengthen her resolve and learn to stand up for herself while staying within the bounds of her character.

Unsavory things:
She may not use a word so strong as "dislike," save for in extreme circumstances, but these are things which leave a sour taste in her mouth, or which turn her stomach... but she has not yet encountered them officially IC, and, thus, i'd love to throw her into situations involving:

- Cement, concrete, tall buildings and dwellings with many rooms absent natural light.
- Those who seek to do harm to others.
- Needless violence. [Note that she would dread to admit that violence would ever be needed! (<~ Subject to change given plot development, as she will defend and protect if needed...)]
