Poor Azin! He didn't know that when he mated Tay that she wanted a large family. I don't think any of them expected it to get THIS big. So we need some people to help take the little ones off their paws so they don't get overwhelmed.

This is a mix between a personality contest and a creativity contest! The family is a little different so we wanted our contest to be a little bit different too.

Start: Now
End: Friday 15th 6:00 pm CST

Wait what do you mean by creativity?! - Well we wanted something different. So you must have something besides a personality blurb to show us more about your bowls personality. For example my kits personality is based off Troublemaker by Olly Murs. Draw us a picture, write us a poem, write up an rp. Just about anything to show off something creative.

RP Prompts-

1.Your father and eldest sister both have schizophrenia, and one of your siblings is likely to have a mental disorder as well. However, your mother has a very good understanding of the human brain and is constantly trying to find ways to help her family deal with the strain of their own mental illness.
What is your opinion of mental illness? Do you try to understand your father and help in some way, or do you simply hope love will solve everything like your brother Ebi? Do you have some sort of disorder?

2. Your father loves to garden along with one of your adopted brothers, Dubstep, while your siblings, Ebi and Rasa, simply love to go shopping with your mother. What are your interests or hobbies? Do you happen to have a secret love for something, like your father does for romance? Are you ashamed of it?

3. Make up your own prompt!
Please include an actual question/point of interest before your response.

The Family

Just in case you wanted to know the personalities of the family~

Parents
Daddy:
User Image
Name: Azin Zurro
Played By: Ishmeluv
Personality: Azin is cautious and tends to seclude himself from others, but anyone who talks to him can tell you that he is gentle and sweet, if a little nervous and jittery at times. He is slightly schizophrenic, which causes him to be violent or flirtatious, since he is easily influenced by the words and opinions of others, his voices especially. His only wish is that the people around him are happy, which means he will do anything for his mate and his children, even if he has to be a little harsh and stand up for his beliefs. Notes: He loves gardening and he is, at heart, a hopeless romantic.

Mommy:
User Image
Name: Taylor Zurro
Played By: CrimsonCutie666
Personality: Your mom is sorta the rock of your family. She's the loving stable presence that keeps your father from falling into his voices and keeps your family from falling apart. She's also sort of the reason you have such a big family since all she's wanted is a family to call her own. She loves music, cooking and the mind. She's a good listener and even better flirt so if you need help putting the moves on your future mate she'll gladly help.

Older Siblings
Oldest Sister:
User Image
Name: Rasa Zurro
Played By: CrimsonCutie666
Personality: The oldest our of all your siblings Rasa is a tomboy. She doesn't mind getting dirty or roughing it but she does have a girly side which comes out around her kinda boyfriend Cadassi, and when it comes to clothing. She's a severe daddies girl, she loves him, she looks like him, and she secretly shares a bit of schizophrenia like him. No matter what she'll look out for you, mess with you and probably dress you up like her own personal doll.

Oldest Brother:
User Image
Name: Ebi Zurro
Played By: Ishmeluv
Personality: Ebi adores affection and greets everyone he meets with a gentle nuzzle or hug. He can be very fun and outgoing, bouncing around with a big grin on his face, or he can be soft and understanding. Often times, he prefers to stay quiet and listen to what other people have to say, and loves nothing better than a good story or rant. He has no sense of darkness or evil lurking in people's hearts because he believes that love can change everyone for the better. Like his father, he wants to do what makes other people happy, and to him that means lots of cuddles.

Your Litter
Older Brother:
User Image
Name: Chardon Kassim Zurro
Played By: Lexi_Perplexi
Personality: ???

Older Sister:
User Image
Name: Dahlia Raelynn Zurro
Played By: Ishmeluv
Personality: Dahlia has two layers to her personality. On the surface, she is very childish and cute, often giggling and acting innocent when it comes to her family and friends, even blushing when teased. However, when she actually starts to spend time with someone, especially if she finds them attractive, she is flirty and saucy, sometimes going a wee bit over the top. Despite her feigned innocence and ladylike demeanor, she is a closet pervert who catches almost every sexual reference.

Little Sister:
User Image
Name: Lilliana 'Lily' Lynn Zurro
Played By: CrimsonCutie666
Personality: Your littlest sister is spunky and sassy. She doesn't care that she's the youngest of the bunch, in fact she rather enjoys being the baby and tries to get extra attention because of it. She likes being in the limelight and is a bit of a drama queen. She's quite a flirt so be careful...even as a bowl she plans to steal hearts.

Adopted Siblings
Adopted Brother:
User Image
Name: Trexler Zurro
Played By: Kitsu
Personality: A sweet little thing, but not terribly bright. He just kind of cutes his way around. He's really really afraid of the dark. He is a rather clingy sort, and he loves his mommy, and just about everyone else. The only thing that could ever really make him angry with you is if you hurt someone in his family... and even then he'd likely just hiss and swat at you until you went and left them alone.

Adopted Brother:
User Image
Name: Dubstep Zurro
Played By: Lexi_Perplexi
Personality: This is one tough kitten, he managed to survive on his own in the forest while he was a bowl before he was found by his adoptive family. He likes to prove to his mother that he isn't a weakling even though he's the runt, so he's less likely to complain about anything even if something is bothering him. He hopes to one day be big and strong so he can protect his family that and a master gardener like his dad.

Note: Ish the noodle and Crimson are also kinda close to this family. While they aren't literally a part of it they are around them.

Bowl Chosen: girl.

Name of Bowl: Aster Suri Zurro

Personality: She is happy but is paranoid schizophrenic, but she doesn't let that bring her down most of the time, even when it is at it's strongest time pulling her down into that deep dark hole. She has support from her mom, and she tries her hardest to be "Normal" She loves flowers and growing them, gardening calms her nerves, her favorite being the Violet, she wishes she was named that, but oh well.

Theme Song: ((This is OPTIONAL. Our children's personalities were inspired by music. Were yours?))
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_cuSCcl0ZE

Creativity is the key!

Disability....

Life can be so hard,
if you are alone,
or as sharp as a glass shard.

Even the darkest days,
don't have to be so bad if you just think,
there are tons of ways.

family will always be there,
for you when you are down,
their problems you can share.

You can feel alone,
but be aware,
your heart doesn't have to be a stone.

Prompt 2

Aster sat by the garden as thoughts rushed into her mind. They hate me, they all hate me. She shook her head and looked at the flowers that needed to be planted.

"Thank you plants, for helping me get through this hard time, I can't get past this feeling, I need my mom." She felt silly talking to plants, but thats what really helped when her mother wasn't around.

She was planting tulips, big orange ones with red centers, she forgot what they were called, but the colors made her feel good inside. Why does she talk to them like they were noodles? Maybe because they couldn't hate or judge her with her issues.

Her mother knew she talked to plants, but that is about it, she was way to shy to let anyone else know, they would judge her and make fun of her no doubt.

She began to plant the tulips, humming to herself as she worked, she planted them all, then cleaned up.

"Now nothing to do but read." She took out her book and read, the only other thing that could help her escape her issues is her books, she loved to read and day dream. Her favorite books were love stories, she wanted to experience love one day soon she hoped.

Bowl Chosen: Girl

Name of Bowl: Cleome Willow Zurro
Cleome is a genus of flowering plants in the Cleomaceae family.

Personality: Cleo is a tough girl. She puts up a rough exterior and is always looking out for her siblings, even those who are older than her. Despite this, Cleo can suffer from depression at times, and even hears voices when she's at her lowest point. However, she's pushed herself to a point where she ignores it, looking out instead for the rest of her family no matter how bad off she is. When she does get bad, however, she goes almost into a trance.. lost in a world of make-believe that only she can see. In this world she has a friend who she is convinced is real and on occasion has even seen him with her and her family. She gets very confused when no one else acknowledges that he's there.

She is still, however, very sweet. She loves to cuddle with her brothers and sisters, always giving them attention and spoiling them whenever she can. And even though she keeps this side of her hidden behind layers, at times even strangers can come to see the soft side of her whenever she's around music or flowers.

Theme Song: Imaginary by Evanescence

Creativity is the key!

Invisible lines of ceasing purity.
Growing in hate and fear.
Shattering like thin glass.
Living like a solemn tear.

To understand is to know.
To gain that great dream.
Instead its a withered life.
An end of a shaky scheme.

Dance along the newborn pine.
In the rising sky under the sun.
Weathered skin becoming scarred.
Flaking off in the season undone.

This wonderful silence.
From a past we'll never share.
Wondering amid the mess.
To a life that will never care.

A melody of a cold lost night.
With memories not there before.
Wanting more than words tell.
Burning deep inside the core.

One shared glance inside a life.
A risen pain from what will not be.
Driven to travel in life alone.
And for this is another tragedy.

Prompt #3~

She wouldn't forget the first time she saw him. She wasn't very old, still a child. She had heard the voices before, but had always ignored them. She had to be big and strong for her family! But that day that he first appeared was the day she felt everything change.

It was just like any other day, she was playing with her sisters. That was why she hadn't understood when things seemed different somehow..

Her cheeks puffed up, well beyond the point they should have. She stood still, determination clearly written on her face. She felt her ears go red, but she held her ground until she finally let go of the breath, "How long?!"

With a slight giggle, one of her sisters pointed to the watch, "6 minutes and 37 seconds! Not bad! But you'd still have to do better to beat me!"

Cleome mused, "Nu uh, you couldn't beat me!" She stated pointedly, glaring at her sister.

-You know, you really shouldn't antagonize her.-

Cleome looked to the side when she heard the voice but the words quickly disappeared from her head. She shrugged her shoulders with a giant heave, was it her own thoughts? Was no one there? "Oh whatever, she'll be fine!" She glanced back at her sister and stuck out her tongue. After her sister finished, she giggled, "Told ya! Only 5 minutes and 4 seconds!"

"What? That can't be right!" Her sister grabbed the watch from her to look at it in dismay. "No way!"

"Yep!" She crossed her arms to show she was the best when she heard her name being called. "Oh crap! I gotta go! Time for lessons!" She grinned at her sister and wiggled her nose before grabbing her jacket to run out to the other building.

It wasn't a long jog before she entered the white one story building. She unwrinkled her jacket, trying to look pristine, "Sorry I'm late Teach!" She stood upright, noticing that there were a lot of new students that day.

"Its okay, take your seat Cleo." Cleome nodded and scrambled into her chair next to a new boy. His hair was white, and he looked rather handsome in a nice fitting shirt.

She couldn't stop from staring at him and when he offered his paw, she blushed furiously, "I"m Asei, what's your name?"

"Oh, oh, I'm Cleome!" She shook his paw, "Its nice to meet you Asei!"

"You too." He grinned. "I just moved here, my parents thought it would do me some good to get cello lessons and meet some of the other kids!"

Cleome nodded with a slight giggle, "That's awesome! I love playing! You will too." She sat to attention when the teacher motioned for everyone to begin playing.

Over the next course of the weeks, she and Asei had become great friends, always playing together. She found herself enjoying every moment that she got to spend playing the cello with Asei. They even began to hang out after lessons and she was so happy to have a best friend for the first time in her life. However, it was something that would not last.

One day, Asei hadn't shown up to lessons. Cleome found herself very sad, but continued to try to do well at her lessons. She knew Asei would want her to do her best, they were going to try to get first and second chair at the recital and she couldn't wait. After lessons were over, she hopped off of her chair and saw her teacher talking to a very tall man. The man was wearing a long black coat and had silver hair, his face was very grim and it looked as though he had been crying for a while.

As they continued to talk, the teacher looked rather shocked and before she knew it, the teacher started crying. This confused Cleome so much that she pulled on the teacher's skirt, "Teach, is something wrong?"

The woman sniffled somewhat and leaned down, grabbing Cleome into her arms, "Cleome... I'm so very sorry..." Cleome knew something was wrong instantly, the teacher never called her anything but Cleo. "..But Asei was in an accident late last night... I'm afraid... I'm afraid he isn't coming back."

Cleome tilted her head to the side, confused at her teacher's statement. She hopped off her teacher's lap and shook her head. "That's not right..." She stated, however her voice was very cheerful. "Asei is right outside! See, that's his face in the window right there!" Giggling, she stuck her tongue out at her teacher, "Silly Teach! Asei would never leave me!"

Bowl Chosen: Boy

Name of Bowl: Monte Cassino Zurro [[ First and middle name are the flower! ]]

Personality: Bipolar, Extremely Aggressive.. Monte isn't fond of attention, hates even more to be touched, but he isn't that way on purpose. Out of some strange movie almost, Monte cannot be taken by surprise without falling into a rare-like state, unable to control his actions.
Most days, he has soft music playing to keep him calm, but touch his music player and you're likely to have your house turned upside down. While he can be a sweet guy, all it takes is one little thing bothering him for everything to fall apart around him.

Theme Song: Black Veil Brides - Perfect Weapon

Creativity is the key!

Prompt #2:
Flowers were too girly.
Shopping was even worse.
But Monte felt out of place of family for thinking this way.

They had chosen today to spend time out and about, and he had volunteered to stay home.
Well, he wouldn't leave the couch, that was. Despite the pleads from both parties for him to join them.
He saw no interest in either idea of fun.
Instead, he found himself staring at a stack of printer paper, pencil in hand. Drawing.
A guilty pleasure, seeing as how he was, most days, unapproachable. But there was something in putting marks on paper that made him feel at ease.

What he hadn't expected, however, was a sibling being around. She had bounced over innocently, asking what he had been doing... and he blanked.
He knew he had grabbed a lighter, knew he had tossed his papers against the seat of the couch as he had screamed at her, "I'll show you what I'm doing!"...
But he couldn't stop himself until he saw his sister's horror-stricken face at the couch set ablaze, the papers he'd been drawing on fueling the living room fire.
Quickly, he rushed to the kitchen and grabbed a bucket, filling it as high as he could manage to carry before tossing it on the burned furniture and assessing the damage.
He sighed and quickly picked up a survivng piece of paper, scribbling a note on it and leaving it resting in the center of burned couch ground zero.

Had he only flipped the paper over, however... he would see his objective had not been accomplished....

Username: Yushika

Bowl Chosen: Girl

Name of Bowl: Camellia Stray Zurro
- Camellia

Personality: Kind, gentle, and loving, Camellia sacrifices her entire being for others. She is a mother figure, a creature that seems without a selfish desire, however she has a strange and sometimes off-putting other half to her. While she is gentle and generous she is also quiet and odd, eyes flicking constantly to places most would not glance twice at, mouth twitching into a profound smile at the strangest moments, and lips uttering words that make no sense masked as advice. She's a strange creature, though seems content with this. She is who she is.

Like her parents she has inherited some oddities, though it isn't quite sure what her problem is. Ever since she first hatched she has repeated the same phrase, "Mother gave birth to six." She has a strange behavior of speaking to a figment of her imagination called Ann. Ann has been a part of her since she was young, she does not know a life without Ann, and she quietly lives her life as if there are two in the same room rather than simply herself. Sometimes, Ann would vanish for a time and Camellia would accept. She does not panic easily, she knows Ann will return. She does not believe she is crazy, having been told by a woman long ago that sanity is in the eye of the beholder, and she sweetly smiles at anyone who questions or mocks her strange behavior.

Camellia is patient, honest, gentle, and wise. However, she also is unable to change habits once she's become an adult. Once she is an adult she'll be stuck with any childish habit she had previously. This includes her playing with her food before eating, sleeping with toys, and an irrational fear of storms when lights click off. Yes, she's quiet and seems strange, almost mysterious, but then she walks down the hall carrying a teddy bear and you wonder how mysterious this woman can actually be... On the topic of toes, Camellia has given each of her toys names and personalities and often refers to them whenever you come near them, such as: "Ellie appreciates you for choosing the seat beside her instead of moving her." It's strange, but harmless.

She does not judge, not even the evil, and is the type to reach out her hand even to those hideous and frightening and offer a motherly comfort. She will wrap her arms around those who need it, soothingly whispering gentle words into their ear and protect them from what they fear. It does not matter who you are, Camellia probably cannot distinguish evil from good anyway. People are people, that is it, and she believes people deserve love and compassion.

She draws at times, though mostly her drawings is of Ann. She rarely draws herself or anyone else. Ann seems to be her primary focus when she picks a pen up, her mind blanking and eyes becoming dull as she focuses on paper and create an image of her "sixth sibling".

Theme Song: My Secret Friend - IAMX
Kings of Lonely - Isles and Glaciers

Creativity is the key!

Prompt Two:

"Mother gave birth to six."

The laughter, sweet and young, filled the room as her blood peered at her with a strange flicker of curiosity. She did not mind the laughing, finding a sense of peace within it that she brought joy to her blood without trying, her mouth creating a pleasant smile as the laughter shimmered and rippled throughout the room. Her mother tried to quiet them, though Camellia did not mind. She saw no malice behind the laughter, no judgement. Simply a sound of mirth and joy. Finally, when one child piqued up and questioned what she met and her mothers eyes flicked curiously to view her Camellia answered.

"Her name is Ann. You can't see her, but she loves you like any sister would. She looks different than mother or father, but she loves them dearly, too." Camellia's ear twitched, head raising as her sentenced ended and a flash of white brushed past the doorway. A figured emerged, thin and young, like the five siblings, white hair gracing shoulders and emerald eyes fluttering with a childish glee when they locked onto Camellia's eyes. A giggle followed the girls mouth before she fluttered out into the hallway, leaving Camellia with her siblings.

More laughter, but again that was okay. Camellia focused on the doorway, watching her "sister", and turned to view her family once more. Her mother spoke of food, her father confirmed within another room, and suddenly many feet clicked against the floor to receive their portions. Camellia stayed, staring blankly at the doorway for another second before joining her siblings quietly.

- - - - -

Her fingers pressed against the piano keys, quietly playing a melody gracefully, eyes lowered, eyelashes casting shadows on her cheeks. Her body swayed, not noticing her parents watching her silently from the doorway. Her world was music right now, gentle and quiet. Her head did not raise when her elder sister approached, eyes blank as her fingers spread and pressed, not noticing the hand that rested on her shoulder. Rasa's presence was not noticed, not until her hand played the last note, eyes focusing and head raising.

"Would you like to play with me?" Camellia questioned, scooting to the side for Rasa to join her side. "Here, let me show you a song. We can play together." Her eyes flicked, spotting Ann pressed into the doorframe, emerald eyes furious, jealousy flickering within her orbs before she fluttered off. Camellia watched the girl, head raising when Rasa finally accepted the offer, a faint but uncertain smile touching Camellia's lip.

What was that?

- - - - -

"Talent?"

Her brother had questioned her talent, wondering what she was special in. Camellia could not answer at first, for she did not think of herself this way. She did not find talents in herself, for she did not wonder what she excelled at, or even what others did. It never crossed her mind, and now that her brother had asked she could not give an answer.

"Her talent is being crazy."

A neighboring kit called, causing a sound of disapproval from Camellia's brother. Camellia turned to view the kit, eyes blinking emotionlessly as she considered the offer. Crazy? Was she crazy? How so? What made someone crazy? What was normal? How could one compare another to the terms of "normal" or "insane" when in this world there was an unlimited amount of personalities. Life flickering in and out of existence, unique and beautiful in their own way. How was one to determine which one of these infinite lives were "normal".

By the time she returned to the world her father had shooed the kit off, attempting to reassure his daughter with words such as "you are not crazy" and "do not listen to him". However, they did not reach the girl, eyes raising and head lifting to view her father. Was he crazy? Was her family crazy? What was the definition of crazy? How could one soul be chosen to be deemed as something different when, in all actuality, weren't all souls different? So, wasn't everyone abnormal? Then... what was crazy?

Was she talented in being crazy, like the kit said?

- - - - -

"I've found my talent." Camellia whispered to the brooding child. White hair floated in the air, emerald eyes watching Camellia with little interest. Arms folded, legs floated above the bed, dress billowing around her.

"I am talented in being crazy." At first, Ann did nothing but pout, though finally she rolled her eyes and floated off the bed, landing on her feet gracefully and approaching Camellia. Hands reached out, touching the others chin and raising until the sitting Camellia was staring into emerald eyes. Soft, gentle hands gripped Camellia's face, white hair falling into the others face as Ann leaned closer, inches from Camellia's face. Their eyes locked, unwavering. Slowly, Ann's mouth parted, a strange, hollow, eerie voice escaping.

"Not crazy." Was all Ann said, the first and last words she'd ever say to Camellia. Her eyes firmly stared at Camellia, narrowing slowly before, suddenly, she moved away from Camellia, floating back to the bed and turning to return to her pouting float.

"Then what is my talent?" Camellia questioned, accepting Ann's words quickly and without a question. Ann suddenly glared, floating off the bed, landing on her feet, and exiting the room quickly. Camellia set her doll down with a gentle thud, rising and following her "sister" silently. Ann led her mutely into the room which held the piano, pointing at it with a slender, pale finger, bright emerald eyes narrowing towards Camellia. The girl approached, settling on the bench and looking up towards Ann.

"This is my talent?" She whispered, hands touching the keys, eyes watching as emerald one's curved, a pale mouth becoming a sweet smile. Her hands pressed against the keys, eyes beginning to close, to fade as she allowed her hands to take over. Before she could start she heard a small cough, head raising to see her brother who had asked her talent. Quietly, the boy questioned if he could play with her, causing a gentle smile across Camellia's lips.

"This is my talent." She whispered to her brother, pride etched in her voice. "You may join. I'd love that." The shimmer beside her caused her head to raise, watching Ann scowl, eyes flashing that same ugly jealousy as she began to float away. Quickly, Camellia rose, turning to her brother.

"Only after Ann plays with me first." She softly added, smiling as Ann whirled around and wrapped cold arms around her. Her brother tilted his head, questioning loudly, even further when Camellia seemed to touch empty air with her paw as if leading another over to the piano, and began to play a song that sounded disjointed. As if it was missing another half to it. He could not hear the music the two produced together, nor could anyone except Camellia. Quietly, she played a strange song, swaying gently, tail wrapped around invisible air as if another sat beside her.

Bowl Chosen: Boy

Name of Bowl: Rhododendron Zephyranth Zurro (Called Rho (Row) for short)

Personality: Rho is very much a lost case on most given days. He's always trapped within his mind, going on some exotic trip to a place only he could imagine, and is very hard to keep in normal, day-to-day conversations. Despite his disconnected mind, Rho is a very gentle, kind boy who, when participating in the "real world", loves to cuddle and play games with his siblings. When not day-dreaming or playing with his siblings, Rho can be found napping or lazing around in the sun. He has a fascination with balloons, leaves, feathers, clouds and rainbows. Most of his drawings will depict some sort of rainbow or blast of color.

Pros: Gentle, calm, non-violent, quiet, thoughtful, patient, kindly
Cons: Lost within his mind, inattentive, indecisive, fluctuates between insomnia and narcolepsy without warning, a push over.

* He does have a mental disorder, though it isn't clearly diagnosed. He isn't schizophrenic, but he does have intense "illusions" and regularily has hallucinations. Despite this, he remains non-violent and communicates with his hallucinations in a friendly manner. His hallucinations are usually of other kids, rainbows and giant birds that offer him feathers and leaves. He loves to talk about the giant feathers he collects, which are actually giant pieces of construction paper.

Theme Song: Carly Simon - Into White Mary Chapin Carpenter - Why Walk When You Can Fly?
Sarah McLachlan - The Rainbow Connection

Creativity is the key!

When I'm deep in a day dream,
Nothing can make me frown!
Every leaf in a sparkling stream,
Becomes a feather made of down!
Floating high above my head,
Or gently down the river bed,
When I'm deep in a day dream,
My world is devoid of dread!

When I'm up and away,
There is nothing to make me sway!
All the smiles and the faces,
And all the made up places,
They make me dance, they make me wiggle,
They make me sing, they make me giggle!
When I'm up and away,
The world is meant for play!

When I'm down or in a bind,
Everything is as black as night.
But one look in my mind,
I can quickly find some light!
If by chance I may fall,
And think I might lose it all,
When I'm down or in a bind,
There's still much more to find!

When I'm sad and want to cry,
There isn't always a reason why.
Sometimes when things get really rough,
Day dreaming can seem pretty tough.
But I know that If I stumble,
Or maybe take a tumble,
When I'm sad and want to cry,
My family is there to sing a lullaby!

Prompt # 1:

"Rho! Come on, it's dinner time!"

Fourteen times and counting. He had already heard her, fourteen times and counting. The balloons were just about above his head. Fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, blue, red and green. Eighteen, ninteen, twenty, purple, pink and orange. Floating by, lifting high, good bye, good bye.

"Rho! Let's go!"

Twenty one times and counting. He had already heard her, twenty one times and counting. Feathers and leaves spun wildly around him. Twenty two, twenty three, twenty four, sparrow feather, crow feather, was that one from a pigeon? Twenty five, twenty six, twenty seven, red leaf, yellow leaf, and a leaf made of snow. Hovering round, touching ground, landing without a sound.

"Your food will get cold!"

Twenty eight times and counting. He had already heard her, twenty eight times and counting. Friends of all ages came running up the hill. Twenty nine, thirty, thirty one, Kit-Kat, Finster, and their sister Cotaline. Thirty two, thirty three, thirty four, little tabby Sam, Collin the bear cub, all standing in a line. Laughing loud, standing proud, gathering upon a fluffy cloud.

"Alright, come in when you're ready, then."

Thirty four times. He had heard her thirty four times. Friends, feathers, leaves and balloons, all had gone away. Thirty four, thirty four, thirty four, was that a new record? Thirty four, thirty four, thirty four, how long was he away? His mind had been caught, he hadn't fought, and his dinner had been left to rot.

"Mother, mother! Am I too late?" Rho cried out.

"Not too late, come sit up, please!"

Chicken and fries. They had made chicken and fries! Siblings and parents sat beside him, some with irritated faces. Chicken and fries, chicken and fries, chicken and fries, this was his favorite food! Chicken and fries, chicken and fries, chicken and fries, he had almost missed it! Oh, how silly must he seem, to stay caught in a day-dream, while his favorite dinner sat on the table losing precious steam.

Bowl Chosen: Girl

Name of Bowl: Viridiplantae ‘Virdi Birdy’ Arabe Zurro
~(Viridiplantae means 'plant' in Latin)

Personality: Being one of nine siblings, little Virdi feels like she has to fight for the spotlight in her parents eyes. She tries to be good at everything, but never works long enough to be really great at it. If she tries something and neither parent blinks an eye, she’ll jump ship and try something else. If not for a second voice in her head, urging her to keep trying, she would have given up in the beginning and retreated into herself. When she’s alone, she’ll talk to the voice she named Meeka, discussing plans for the next crazy attention grabbing activity.

As she gets older, this desperate need for attention will get much worse and her voice, Meeka, will fade giving way to severe depression and she’ll pull away from everyone and hide. The only person who could pull her out of this is her big brother Ebi, she looks up to him, but is ashamed, because she thinks herself such a failure, and can’t bring herself to approach him.

Rhyming Song for You ~ by Viridiplantae Arabe Zurro

Check it out, I’m puttin’ words together.
Don’t mind me, it only took forever.
‘Cause I had to make them rhyme,
And it took a lot of time.
So won’t you just stop and listen to me?

I am singing up this song,
And you’re snoring right along.
So, please wake up and listen to me!
It’s really not that bad,
Now, come on Mom and Dad,
I just want you to acknowledge and see!

I just wanted to be loved,
Come on please give me a hug,
Or at least tell me what I’m doing is great!
‘Cause I’ve been stayin’ up so late,
Working hard so you will see,
That the awesomest one of all is me!

So please just stop and turn around,
I’m not looking for a crown,
Or big award or huge record deal!
I just want you to realizes and feel,
That I’m really doing all of this for you!

But it’s obvious that it’s not workin’,
Despite all of the clocks I’ve broken.
So, nevermind I’ll see you later,
I’m gonna go wrestle an alligator,
Whatever it takes to prove it’s all for you!

A True Poem ~ by Viridiplantae Arabe Zurro

There once was a young girl named Virdi,
Who really was quite purdy,
But no matter how she tried,
All of her hard work died,
And every bit turned up in the trash.

Prompt #3 ~ Virdi Gives Up

Viridiplantae stared up at the ceiling above her bed. She felt like every time her parents were about to complement her, one of her eight siblings would come up and show them something better and they would forget about her.
But that doesn’t mean they don’t love you, Meeka reasoned.
“You’ve failed me.” Virdi said coldly to the voice.
What?! Meeka shifted around her mind nervously.
“You told me that if I kept trying, they would give me the praise I deserve. I’ve been trying for years and received none!” She growled and sat up.
Have you ever thought that maybe you don’t deserve any?
Virdi’s blood turned to ice, “What did you just say to me?!”
I only meant-!
“GET OUT! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!”
But Virdi-!
“OUT!” Virdi screamed and grabbed her head. “GET OUT AND DON’T EVER COME BACK! GOT IT?!” She panted heavily, “I asked you a question, answer me!” But there was no answer. Meeka was gone and, for once, Viridiplantae was truly alone. Her eyes watered and she burst into tears. That sweet soft voice would never encourage her to do anything ever again. Virdi threw herself back onto her bed and wailed for the loss of her only friend. If anyone tried to come in and ask her what was wrong or tried to comfort her, she didn’t acknowledge them. She cried herself to sleep and awoke unable to utter a word. She moved about the house as if in a trance, ‘no one will ever love me.’ That night, she snuck out her bedroom window and ran away to a small hill not too far from the house. She’d hollowed it out and learned how to build support beams to keep it from collapsing. Virdi was going to show it to her dad, who loved gardening, but there was no point now. She fluffed the pile of dry leaves she’d collected in there as a bed and chased away a few bugs who had taken shelter there. After a few moments of starring up at the moon through her grassy curtained doorway, she lay down and drifted off into an uneasy sleep.

Bowl Chosen: Boy

Name of Bowl: Strelitzia Yusuf Zurro (Strel for short)

Personality: Elegant and tasteful, Strel is much more quiet than his twin sister. He, like his father, prefers solitude, and often goes to help him in the garden. While he doesn't hold a complete love for gardening, he holds another hobby very close to him, and often does so when he's alone. This passion? Singing, or just music in general. He has yet to learn to play an instrument, but perhaps that's a plot later to come. He's extremely shy about being musically inclined around others, though there's almost always a song in his head. Eventually, he hopes to compose some music of his own....Maybe to sate his small bit of Synesthesia. In Strel's case, vision translates to sound, and even sounds to other sounds. At times where it's overwhelming, he can fall completely still, heart hammering madly to keep up with the explosion of music in his soul. He has yet to experience this, but is afraid it might happen one day...

Theme Song: The Eternal Vow (While he is a singer, I think this suits him a little better. >w< )

Creativity is the key!
Prompt 2::
Drops of rain fell in a quiet beat, much like that of the drum inside his head. He could feel it, and his breath slowed to match it. Finally, a quiet rainy afternoon away from his sisters, just some time to be alone, and enjoy the music he could feel. The sway of the trees added an almost wind-chime like effect, and this too began to resonate with the solo percussion. But such an arrangement needed...more.

This wasn't a day for woodwinds, no, it was a day of strings, to match the silently passing clouds overhead. Strel didn't mind getting wet, though his mother might huff about tracking it inside. For now it was just him, and his mind, and the storm, just how he liked it to be. It was still early morning, and the sun would be peaking over the hill any moment now...If the fog and clouds didn't cover it fully. Indeed, one look to the hill, and the foggy rays of morning peeked. Another crescendo of strings....And then it was hidden.

Hidden just like his passion.

Strel was more than aware of his family's many passions, including the garden he stood in right now, maintained by his father, but he....he was so different from the rest. If they knew what he could hear, maybe they'd try to treat it...And he didn't want that. This was his gift, and as much of a pain as it could be at times, he loved it and embraced it. He hadn't gotten the voices, he had gotten a limitless orchestra, maestro ready and willing. Strel dreamed, dreamed that one day he could put it to more use, and perhaps convey the feeling of rain that he felt, and the whispering sunrise across the foggy hill. He wanted them to know....But they might take it away....

His mother might understand though. She loved music, maybe just as much as he did, and she might encourage it! The little part, the part he didn't want to admit, tried to hold him back, whispering that she'd try to take it away, to lock it up. That little part of him was logically unreasonable...But he couldn't overcome it for now.

Soaked to the bone from the calming rain, he gave a slight smile. The song inside him ended, and finally he felt calm again, ready to go dry off at last. While he was sure he'd get a talking to about trekking mud and rain in to the house, he knew he'd be met with a warm towel and a hug. Sometimes, it was just worth it.

Bowl Chosen: Girl

Name of Bowl: Vervain Oleander Zurro
(Vervain = Enchantment, Oleader = Beware)

Personality: Vervain is truthful to a fault. Stark. That's not to say that she doesn't love fun though! She's all about fun! She likes to make art and she loves to help others feel better by transforming their bodies through the act of tattooing and body modification! She loves that her mother is a point of light in their lives, and she strives to make herself a point of light in the lives of the people who come to her for help. But she tells it straight. She doesn't pull her punches. She really believes that only once you've hit the bottom can you rise and make something better of yourself - something beautiful.

Theme Song: On a Good Day - Oceanlab

Creativity is the key!
((Prompt 2))

Vervain, despite being named after two flowers like her siblings, had never really been too big into gardening. It wasn't that she didn't like to spend time with her father and her brother - it was that something about the dirt felt kindof gross to her - the way it squished beneath her paws was unpleasant. She liked to look at the things that they planted together, but that was where she drew the line.

Shopping was more her style, affording her the ability to change who she was at the drop of a hat - or a scarf, or a pair of pants. But even that was a temporary catharsis.

There was something more satisfying still about the smell of fresh ink - the rows upon rows of paper and pens and other ordinarily fascinating things that held her attention. It was knowing that even though these things looked ordinary, in her hands, they could be the instruments to bring about a change - to make someone happy. That was what she really loved.

So when she and her mother got home, the first thing she did was thank her, and the second thing she did was head to her room to go and find the inspiration she wanted. She'd collected tons of magazines. Read tons of books. Practiced a ton... and she finally knew what she wanted to draw. What she wanted for her first real tattoo....

Bowl Chosen: Girl

Name of Bowl: Alkanet 'Aly' Alison Zurro

Personality: Aly has schizoid personality disorder. She's a sweetheart and tries hard to fit in, but there are just times you can feel the social awkwardness rolling off her. For the most part she prefers to hang around her family; gardening with Daddy is plenty peaceful and quiet, and shopping with Mommy allows her to feel like part of society without having to be a part of it. She needs at least a few hours a day to herself, to just sit and breath and let her thoughts flow uninterrupted, for her own mental stability. Constant interruptions or pestering her when she wants to be alone can make Aly severely cranky; some days she'll be so wound up that the littlest things can cause her to fly into a rage, though her method of dealing is to seek solitude rather than pick a fight.

Emotions are hard for Aly to properly deal with. She can't read cues from others very well, yet she can surprise with her insight into emotional problems and offer good advice. Her love life doesn't do so well either, emotionally speaking. It's not a self-esteem issue; she's damn sexy, thank you very much! It's not a confidence issue either, since she knows if she put her mind to it she could net a guy, no problem, and indeed gets around quite well. It's a kind of fear of or inability to share an emotional closeness with someone that holds her back from finding "true" love, something that she both desires greatly and runs away from.

Theme Song: Turn Me On - Nicki Minaj | Love Game - Lady Gaga

Creativity is the key!

Prompt 1

Aly loved to read, but that wasn’t the main reason she loved the library. It was so quiet here, people actually doing their best to minimize their noises so that all that broke the silence was an occasion cough, sniff, or whispered question to the librarians. And the smell, paper and ink, leather and wood, dust and cleaner, put her completely at ease. Yes, this place was her sanctuary as much as her way to entertain herself or find answers.

The shelf she was contemplating now was full of books bound in identical deep brown leather with identical gold font stamped into the covers and spines. She reached forward and pulled out a likely one, brushing a paw over the cover and staring down at it, then went to her usual spot and settled down with the book in her lap. She opened it and began to read.

“Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by a breakdown of thought processes and by poor emotional responsiveness. Common symptoms include auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions, or disorganized speech and thinking, and it is accompanied by significant social or occupational dysfunction.”

A tiny frown of thought creased Aly’s brow as she continued to read.

” A person diagnosed with schizophrenia may experience hallucinations (most reported are hearing voices), delusions (often bizarre or persecutory in nature), and disorganized thinking and speech. The latter may range from loss of train of thought, to sentences only loosely connected in meaning, to incoherence known as word salad in severe cases. Social withdrawal, sloppiness of dress and hygiene, and loss of motivation and judgment are all common in schizophrenia. There is often an observable pattern of emotional difficulty, for example lack of responsiveness. Impairment in social cognition is associated with schizophrenia, as are symptoms of paranoia; social isolation commonly occurs. Difficulties in working and long-term memory, attention, executive functioning, and speed of processing also commonly occur. In one uncommon subtype, the person may be largely mute, remain motionless in bizarre postures, or exhibit purposeless agitation, all signs of catatonia.”

Aly used her paw as a place-marker and closed the book, staring emptily into space while she lost herself in thought. She knew there was something different about her dad. Even if Mom hadn’t mentioned it before, she’d witnesses a few bouts; mood swings and moments where he was clearly hearing something none of them could. It had never bothered her though. She knew Dad loved Mom, loved her siblings, loved her. So what if he was a little different? But this book was taking that and twisting things and making different sound like wrong! She gave the book an annoyed look. Her dad was a gardener, of course his dress and hygiene got a little sloppy on occasion! He always cleaned up after, even if Mom had to remind him now and again.

Aly firmly closed the book and stood up to return it to the shelf. Maybe she’d read it again later, when she could be more objective; seemed to her that books like that didn’t take into account all the variables. Deciding she’d had enough of the library today, Aly turned her back on the books and wondered if her father could use an extra pair of paws in his garden.
