The Choices:
Dawn Fliers
Wingleader: N'mol of bronze Tyeth
Age: 16
Origin: Benden Weyr
Personality:
Charismatic. Ambitious. Prejudiced. Simply put, Nemmol aspires to acquire a Bronze or Brown dragon and become a Wingleader or, if necessary, a Wingsecond. He's spent most of his life learning the responsibilities of the high ranking members of the weyr and keeping himself fit by taking on whatever athletic tasks are necessary around the Weyr, from running messages to lifting barrels. Nemmol's single-minded pursuit of knowledge for how to be a worthy candidate for a higher level dragon is one of the examples of his ambition, though most of his ambition as a whole is focused on achieving high level status in the Weyr. He's never found anything else he's considered interesting enough to which to devote that level of attention. Unfortunately, his pursuit for a higher-ranking dragon is also the product of disdain for the lower level riders of the weyr. He understands that Greens and Blues are needed to fill out the wings, but he doesn't consider them or their riders anywhere near the level of Brown- or Bronzeriders and thus they aren't really worth his time. He'll be just as friendly to their faces as anyone else, and he's happy to learn from Wingleaders or Wingseconds how best to utilize them for Threadfighting, but he'll never consider them worth their boot leather for anything other than fighting the intermittent Thread threat.
He's the vessel for every old stereotype of what Blueriders and Greenriders are and will adhere to those beliefs fully, only allowing for a few exceptions if the riders go above and beyond what Nemmol expects while in his view. Otherwise they're simply numbers for the Weyr's wings, a group of fickle, foolish, over-emotional people who aren't really at a Wingleader's level of intelligence. Worse still are mutations and their riders, which-- as the Weyr's traditional stance dictates-- are next to useless, unnatural, and unwelcome. Nemmol is less likely to be as friendly to them as he is to Blue- and Greenriders. His prejudices aren't the product of anger or disgust, hence why they don't appear in any very visible capacity when he talks to others. With him, it's simply a fact of weyr life, one that he fully understands and supports and is always floating there in the back of his mind, dictating the level of charm he exudes on others.
However, since he rarely spares lower riders much thought unless directly presented with them, Nemmol is usually simply focused on becoming a dragonrider and schmoozing the other residents of the weyr, almost always with complete success. He smiles, makes direct eye contact, politely tells you what you want to hear, anything to put someone more at ease with him and let them know they can trust him. He does actually want people to like him, and in some cases really does like the other person, but he doesn't usually get too attached to others beyond acquaintances. Nemmol is aiming for a dragon and once you have your lifepartner, you really only need him. He isn't inherently cruel; he's just a product of his upbringing-- or his hoity-toity beliefs. The next Clutch at Benden is his chance to take the next step to becoming a properly ranked dragonrider and really putting those skills of his to good use.

Wingsecond: Wi'vren of bronze Jaleth (NPC)
Gale Stalkers
Wingleader: D'lin of bronze Plexith
Age: 21
Origin: Trine
Personality:
D'lin seems to have two main goals in life - to free himelf from he envisioned enlavement life as a smith would be to him and to be seen as who he is rather then who his parents wanted him to be...to gain thier approval even if he dosen't follow the path they seemed set on him taking. D'lin wants to enjoy life for what it can be, he wishes to stop and smell the roses every now and then, not follow a path that was chosen for him - and for which he finds no love of. He is generally seems to be a calm person, outwardly cool and colleced about most situations but inwardly highly emotional and prone to being easily irritated when someone infringes on what he considers his privacy.
Although D'lin likes to believe he's idealistic and believes in the better things in life, in truth he has a slightly pessimistic outlook and is far more prone to seeing the bad in a situation then the good, such 'bad' stands out like glaring flaws in his percieved perfection to his mind and he's never realy happy until such things are fixed.
He has a good work ethic as long as the chore seems to have a point to it, if he considers it a pointless or time wasting chore he has a tendency to become unmotivated until the point of the work is pointed out to him. With most decisions he is a fairly controlled individual, often thinking things through very carefully before he makes a move though he has a tendency to think most peoples are expecting him to fail and can be a little bit paranoid about that fact.
Despite his generally cool nature when it comes to others D'lin is a bit of a hidden knight - he's the unexpected rescuer someone might have if they were being pushed around as he simply can't stand to see someone run over by thier peer's and is incredibly stubbon when it comes to his beliefs that everyone should have a right to choose thier on path in life. When it comes to solving problems however he can be incredibly flexible.
D'lin can come across as a bit cold to those who don't know him as he prefers to keep mos tpeople at arm's length and gather only a small group of 'true' friends. He seems to prefer female company which might stem from his lack of male companionship growing up in a female dominant family. He is ever the gentlemen when it comes to these females however and can be rather obtuse when it comes to any feelings they might have for him. He tends to be reserved in social situations like feasts and gatherings but is far more open and foreward when it comes to solving a problem of handling 'business'.
He has a distaste for sharing close or personal information, most people would consider him 'secretive' though he just dosen't like to air out dirty laundry when its jut not other people's business, most of the time he simply tries to turn such conversations around on the questioner or simply change the subject. His sense of humor could easily be defined as dry and sometimes cynical.
D'lin does have one small little proble however when it comes to life at the Weyr, he's afraid of heights - clearly this is something he'll have to work though but he's confident that he can overcome this irrational fear in time. In the meantime...he just handles it the best he can.

Wingsecond: S'kor of bronze Scarath
Age: ~22
Origin: Trine
Personality:
From the outside S'kor seems a very solemn fellow. Smiles are rare and slow to cross his lips. This isn’t because he’s mean; it is him taking his time to think through before he acts. S'kor isn’t one to give the wrong impression during a situation. The only one who gets all the smiles she wants is his sister. He knows his sister looks up to him and does all he can to encourage her. When something does go wrong, S'kor will take his time examining the problem before pronouncing his verdict.
Even though he’s a spice trader, some still think he should have been a herdbeast trader. S'kor has an excellent sense on how to get an animal to do what he wishes without the use of violence. A fact he prides himself highly on, no matter how difficult an animal. He posses a gentle touch and soft word that often will get an animal to do what a whip could not. “A well trained beast is the key to a good trader,” is a phrase S'kor will swear by. His own black stallion is a fine example of that.
His father was often busy with trading when he and Optheli were small children. As a result S'kor took up the mantle of protector after their mother left the caravan. He has the attitude of a knight when it comes to defending the honor of others. Insults to himself are easily brushed aside as he knows they are untrue. S'kor knows he will make courting Optheli hard and is ok with it. He feels she should only get the best.
Occasionally, S'kor will make a split second judgment on someone. There is no rhyme or reason to it. Taking in a scene he determines a person’s attitude and position. However he fails to account for unusual circumstances and events that can change a person’s behavior. Because of this once his mind is made up about you it is a very hard thing to change.
S'kor has a high respect for authority. He understands how much hard work it is to reach master rank. Knowledge and experience that comes with master rank, he feels, should be passed on down. Hoarding wisdom to oneself is foolish and detrimental to all. S'kor values his friends greatly and puts a large amount of trust in them. If you need his help you can certainly count on him being there to back you. In a battle he expects his friends to guard his back exactly as he guards theirs.
Although he won’t admit it out loud he has a reason for being a spice trader. S'kor has a hidden passion for the spices; the ways they are used in different dishes and which region uses which spices. A favorite past-time is trying foods from different locations then trying to puzzle out the method and spices used in the dish.

Storm Riders
Wingleader: Z'fer of bronze Calanoth
Age: 28
Origin: Malvren
Personality:
Competitive. Z'fer likes to win. He'll not back down from a challenge, even if it's just in his mind. Z'fer knows dragonriders don't fight but that hasn't stopped him from getting in a 'friendly scuffle' or two, particularly when drinking. He tends to act without thought when angered which has gotten him in trouble. When Z'fer does lose he'll often try to blame someone or something else on it. It wasn't his fault he lost, It was obvious he should have won.
When it comes to being a dragonrider Z'fer takes it very seriously. It galls him that he's not a Wingleader and he's always trying to prove himself and earn the position. He flies well with his wing. He'll take orders from ranked superiors but an order from a fellow rider makes him bristle. Z'fer has excellent sense of direction, nothing rivaling a Black but as well as any normal human can. When under pressure Z'fer is in his element. He thrives in fast paced, dangerous senarios. He's an adrenaline junkie.
In his down time Z'fer appears relaxed and confident. He laughs freely and seems secure in 'who he is'... or egotistic depending upon how much you like him. He's an attractive man and enjoys flirting and showing off for women. He's not much into having a lasting relationship but if she's willing or her dragon is proddy by all means he'll take advantage of it. He's selfish and wants only the best for Calanoth and himself.

Wingsecond: G'drin of bronze Follith (NPC)
Dauntless
Wingleader: Kleos of crimson Moriath
Age: 22
Origin: Malvren
Personality:
Kleos is a fighter through and through; she has a strong moral compass and sticks by her beliefs come what may. So far as intelligence goes she’s more or less average, but she possesses a good deal more common sense than many, is good at seeing patterns, and finding solutions to physical problems. She can be relied on to keep her word and do her duty, but she is outspoken and doesn’t hesitate to question authority if she feels they’re in the wrong. Similarly, she will point blank refuse to do something she feels is unjust no matter how much trouble she might get into for not following orders. Speaking of orders, she’s not too fond of them; she’d much rather be the one giving them out than receiving them, at least in part because she doesn’t feel many leaders live up to her personal code of honour and morality. As can be deduced from this attitude, Kleos is proud and while she has never been vain in the classical sense she is very satisfied with her personality, were it physical she would certainly admire it in a mirror. She’s courageous, determined, and noble after all; what’s not to like about her? Perhaps her harshness for starters; justice is not always kindness, she calls people out on the slightest wrong and makes sure the whole world hears about it.
Another problem would be that massive pride; she’s sure that nobody else is quite as good and noble as she is, and while she never says so aloud it is quite clear in her manner that she thinks she’s one of the most shining examples of humanity alive. Egotistical though her attitude might be, nobody could deny that she truly is a decent person; not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but basically good-hearted. She’s in the corner of anyone who she believes is being oppressed, unfairly ignored, or otherwise mistreated; her own wellbeing, and her good sense, take a back seat. She’d rather die than abandon a cause or a comrade in need and is impossible to bribe or blackmail; her honour (and ego) wouldn’t allow it. Her high standards and the passion with which she strives to live up to them make her a pretty forceful person to deal with, and while some might like and admire her drive and passion, just as many will probably find it a bit much to deal with every day and avoid close association with her. Seriously? Who goes on like that all the time? Who does she think she is, the savior of the world? With Kleos’ pride, she just might.
When she gets stressed Kleos bites her nails, and as the state of them suggests she gets stressed quite a lot. Not only are her standards of morality high, all her standards are and she devotes a huge amount of her time an energy to trying to live up to them. She might quite sure that’s she’s one of the best and most noble people around, but she doesn’t have the same confidence in her abilities to succeed in her studies and so on. In the end she usually falls short of what she wants to achieve, because she’d really like to be the very best at everything. She can never forgive herself for failing, and each time she does she pushes herself harder and harder. Without a good friend to reassure her she isn’t a failure and to force her to ease off a little, she will push herself to breaking point. After she calms down (or recovers from cracking up) she is no less driven, but her efforts return to being determined and diligent rather than desperate and frantic. In these times of greater calm she is aware that she can never be the best at everything, and had better settle for being the best she can be. Before too long however some challenge or other will arise to set the whole cycle off again; while Kleos can learn from most mistakes, this is one kind of idiocy she might never overcome.
Kleos’s gender identity is very important to her; she can’t stand being called a man or a guy, but she hates being called a girl just as much, and anyone who calls her a chick is really in for it. What she is, is a woman; she’ll happily admit to being a tough one - and perhaps androgynous of temperament - but she does not and never has wished she’d been born male; behaving as though she does just because she wouldn’t be seen dead in a skirt is hugely insulting to her. She also takes very poorly to insults or being told she’s wrong, and accepts correction only very grudgingly, and only when there is a lot of evidence weighing against her point of view. If the offender is a pretty girl however, she’ll probably let the matter slide. Yes, Kleos really loves the ladies, the pretty ladies that is. She has a bad habit of coddling them given half a chance, which often either leads to them getting annoyed with her for trying to help them with their work too much, or to them taking advantage of her and sitting back while she gets on with it. Similarly, while she’ll happily defend anyone at all if she thinks they’re being treated unfairly, she is especially defensive of beautiful ladies. Even more than pretty girls however she is protective of her friends and would do anything they asked of her, provided it doesn’t violate her morals in any case. If one of her friends does something she believes is wrong she will firstly be very angry with them and then she will demand that they own up, take their punishment, and generally make amends before she will call them friend again.
