Have you ever had those moments when you're trying to think of a word in English but you only know it in Cantonese?

Like... "yeet hay"... literally translated into "hot air." I don't know how I would say that in English. XD Or explain what "shui po" crackers are in English... (you know, those ones that look like bagels).

Yes, I've been through situations similar like yours. Except... It didn't involve Canto or any other Chinese dialect... sweatdrop I live in a French area and have a few French-speaking friends. Most of my friends can comprehend English fluently so I speak in English to them. :XP: I can speak French fluently but sometimes I'm like "Okay... What was that word in French again...? OH yeah [Insert French Noun]!"

Haha, yeah! People will be like, "Say hello in Chinese." And I'll be thinking for a long time and only come up with, "Um, hello?" ^^;

Hehe, shui po crackers soo yummy. My brother was giving me funny looks while eating them because he doesn't like them at all. XD My mom and I love them. >w<

I totally agree with the "Yeet Hay" thing. My parents and I have been trying to find out how to translate it in English for a very long time now...

I sort of have trouble translating from English to Chinese and Chinese to English in a lot of situations, even if its just spoken form. Because my Chinese vocabulary is very limited, I'm unable to grasp what the more complicated English concepts are when translated into Chinese.
