Cloudrunner looked back at the old building her human had found to nest in. It wasn't much, just four weathered walls and a roof a few feet off the faint path through the Rinaul mountains they'd been following southward, but it should be enough to keep him safe. He tended to curl up and sleep like an overfed pup, so he shouldn't draw any attention. The pale lucario paused to scan the area again, just in case.

Running across the earth was a frisky Growlithe named Miles. Miles had run off from his trainer again, and he felt so free. He loved leaving his trainer behind because his human could definitely take care of himself and Miles loved racing along, testing his speed and hunting abilities.

She heard, smelled nothing unexpected for the area. She started making a wide circut around the shack, cocking one long ear always towards where he boy slept and she moved through the brush.
No... she stopped with on paw still in the air. Something felt off. What was it?
((Permission to sense Miles' presence? I can delay if you like? With lucario's aura senes she should notice him if he's not making so much noise or coming from downwind, but I don't know whether he's still too far off, or if aura-empathy is an allowed ability in Extrasensory. ^^' ))

It was quiet , mostly. The trees creaked under their burdens of snow. Uninteresting things rustled. Something...something in -that- direction was a little too active. She cocked her ears and listened intently. She could just barely hear the rough shhhh of snow being crushed. Vigorously.
Yep! He wouldn't notice. She'd just...investigate this and be back before he woke. She started picking her way through the drifts.

Miles spotted something small moving along the snow, and he leaped and scurried after it, snow flying every which way. He barked at it, trying to get whatever it was to stop. Miles was excited and feeling very friendly today. Of course, he always was wanting to catch up to anything.

Cloudrunner heard and excited bark in the distance. Oh! Another canine? Maybe? Who knew what weird creatures showed up this far south. Maybe cat Pokemon barked here? She quickly released a sharp, questioning bark of her own and trotted towards the sound a little faster, slipping into a deep drift or two on the way. The stranger came into view through the trees. She approached him with her tail held high, slightly waving.

Miles barked at the other, wagging his tail, another canine! He bounded up to the other and stood in front of Cloudrunner.

She looked down at the swirl coated puppy pokemon, one ear flicking back. She had to divide her attention between this Pokemon and any threat that might approach the shack far behind her. She bent for a polite nose-sniff, catching a whiff of sulfur. "Who are you, and what are you doing out here, fire type?" She asked seriously.

The tribal marked canine stopped and sat in front of the aura canine, tail wagging. "I'm playing, what does it look like?" he asked sarcastically, "but you can call me Miles."

Her eyes narrowed at his tone, but "playing" seemed non threatening enough. IF it were true. If he was a wild pokemon bent on harming her human companion with an uncharacteristically good innocent act, she would be ready. "I am Cloudrunner," With a sideways glance and a couple soft taps at the crust of snow, she thrust her head under the surface and came up holding a branch a few feet long. She dropped one end, giving him another serious expression. "One usually plays with someone or something else, do they not?"

He bit into the end of the stick, tail wagging happily. *Yersh, they 'oo,* he said around the stick. He, of course, trusted this strange pokemon right away. He could tell with people.

Cloud adjusted her grip and gave her end a firm tug, sinking hock-deep into the snow. Her tail fanned behind her as she yanked again - not too hard, the game wasn't about winning, not at once, at least. "I can play for a little while, I think," she wuffed around the branch. ((Man, I have literally no idea what to have Cloudrunner say. This is why I usually make un-talkative characters. XD ))

Miles tugged on his end of the stick, digging his paws in for better traction. His tail wagged furiously as he playfully pulled against Cloudrunner.

She gave it a shake, digging furrows in the snow and gritting tighter. Her breath hissed out between the wood and her teeth. "Do better than that puppy!" she growled, tail waving jauntily.
