AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORMName: Emily Shadrean Nicknames: (She'll earn them x3) Gender: female Age: 16 in this form Faction: Ghost Race: Shade Natural Ability: Emily can make shadowy objects from herself in a variety of shapes, but the bigger the shape the less solid it are and the harder they are for her to hold. Small shapes like a mouse she can hold for about 20 minutes, 15 if it's solid. If it's big, like a race car maybe 10 minutes and if it's solid maybe 3, max 5 but she'll be zonk'd afterwards. Personality: Emily is a elemental, a type of ghost. They have to do the bidding of one reaper family whether she wants to or not. This has made her rather bitter towards the reapers as a whole. There was one way to get away from them that she knew of and it was to put on a skull pin and go to school. After countless years of thinking about it, she finally said good bye to her shapeless form that glowed faint iridescent purples. After putting the pin on she found that she can create shadow shapes from herself.form and hello to limbs, eyes, the whole ten yards. What's this?:: Emily hasn't been in this form for long so she's still learning a few things. Like what food taste like or if she feels like it, what pain feels like. Bookworm:: She never cared for books before but now that she has eyes....well she can't seem to but them down, they are much better then movies with all there flashing colours and lights. She'll read just about anything. Yes sir.......:: She has a problem with authority, she hates taking orders. This stems from having to do what the reapers told her to-do. This only really comes into play when she is having fun and is told to stop or is ordered to do something she feels the person could have easily done them selves. Get off your arse!:: She can't stand lazy people, she herself feels like there is always something to be done, weather it's reading a book, going to school, doing assignments or getting out into the shadows and having fun. She has do be doing something and if your not doing something too she's chew your ear off. Stubborn as an ox:: Once Emily has her mind set on something she does it, no matter how stupid or dangerous it seems. She'll try her hardest to complete the task at hand. Or say one of her friends try's to get her to eat something for the first time, they can try till they are blue in the face but she won't do it if she doesn't want to.....They only thing that would really work would be black mail. Please don't stop the music:: At a dance hall in the darkest corner you might just spot her dancing up a storm but be careful, she really flails those limbs about. Light in the Darkness:: Tho Emily is a shadow elemental her personality was never very dark. She can be a bit bubbly at times, she finds herself smiling now, good thing her hood can hide it tho. She's much happier now, that she is free from the bidding of the reapers. Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Being an elemental she got tired of doing whatever the reapers told her to do. So she took on this form and thought she'd give school a try....and pick up a few new tricks. FEAR Ability: (Battle Cry) Shadow Bomb; She forms a shadow ball and whips it at the opponent, where it exposes inches before them into many shards and passes threw them causing pain an some damage. Physical Description:Oh Hey! There she is! ======>

Interesting girl. XD Ironic how her eyes seem to glow and her hair/face is so pale when she's a being of shadow. You said that she used to do what reapers told her to do. May I ask what that means...? Did she used to work for reapers, like the ones that go to this school? What does she think of them as a whole? Does she consider the ones she worked for different than the ones attending classes with her?
It's interesting how you say she has a problem with authority...sounds like she reacts to it with sarcasm, but I'm not sure I can see sarcasm on a bubbly person. What kind of orders does she dislike taking? What about being told about rules, like if she's doing something wrong? Isn't that a good reason? Does she still hate it? Will she be openly sarcastic about it, or not?
She seems to like books now that she has eyes...but what about the rest of the world? Sights, colors, sounds, movement, people...why would she prefer books over all that going on in front of her? If anything, wouldn't she prefer movies and people-watching? Books are just words on a page and would force her to imagine things based on what she's seen, but if she hasn't seen anything before, what experience does she have to base it off of?
Also, I'm curious...as a being of shadow who likes the dark, why would she suddenly enjoy seeing all this light and color through eyes?
And finally her FEAR ability...aren't students not allowed to 'control' others? ^_^; Even indirectly, like through their shadows?

OuO Hi there! <33 Yaaay, I'm glad to see you got a character! ;; <33 She's lovely ffff. BUT OKAY, UHHH let's see! Since FEAR is one of the most important things, I'll start with that? XD I'll have to echo Ty--doing anything that controls another person's character is always a little iffy, and especially so when the character is only Y1. ;; Maybe just...the ability to control a shadow (using the opponent's shadow would be okay in this case, I think?), use it to grab the opponent, and throw them/smash them into a wall/whatever? C: You'll also have to pick out a FEAR mechanic that fits with your FEAR! C: The most important thing to pay attention in that thread is what each of the types do, rather than the flavour text! ouo Two students can use Swift Strikes for example, but one may ICly rain icicles down on someone, while the other repeatedly strikes an opponent with their weapon. O__O I'm also...curious about the "elementals must serve reapers" thing? I'm not sure if it should be a racial trait as opposed to maybe...something that was ingrained in her by her family? Because the former could definitely lead to a lot if conflict if all elementals must obey reapers (and we do actually have another elemental ghost character, Vieve!), but it would make sense if, say, Emily's family has served reapers for generations/she has been taught to do the same, but is unhappy about it? XD

Thank you!!!!!! <333 Yeah I'm reworking her because clearly I need too. I need to read up on a few more things too....Anywho I got the whole reaper thing from the Basic of elementals/sprites xD Quote: Elementals and Spirits: In Halloween, the ethereal similarities Elementals and Spirits share with Ghosts has prompted many to see them as a type of ghost. They also share the same animosity they feel towards Reapers. Where Ghosts have mixed feelings (Grim Reapers created them, but there were some Reapers in the past that liked to trap ghosts and use them as nightlights), Elementals and Spirits are summoned by Reapers again and again for various tasks. Go attack this, go do my cleaning, do this, do that -- nevermind what they were doing previously, when a Reaper calls they demand your presence NOW.
Ghosts have welcomed Elementals and Spirits with open arms. Even if they don't share the same memory problems or haunting problems, they are similar enough to where they co-exist peacefully. Over time, Elementals and Spirits have even picked up on a few ghost tricks, namely learning how to become intangible and how to levitate. I could make it a family thing but I was working with what the guild gave me xD

8DD Aah, I see! The guides are definitely good to go off of! ouo There are sometimes a few iffy things/generalizations though @ say, the demons are supposed to be super elitist according to the demon guide (if it's still the same one I'm thinking of XD), but a good number of our demon characters here were not brought up in such traditional ways/have no animosity towards other races. Ultimately, any real animosity depends on your character + their background, I guess? <3 I also don't thiiiink Vieve--our fire elemental student--serves reapers, but I could ask Danse later maybe akdfasdf. Whereas I think it would make sense for an elemental to serve one particular reaper/family of reapers (the ones that summoned them), you might want to specify that Emily wouldn't do the bidding of all reapers? ...........Because we have a lot of reapers here in Amity, and she would find herself in a lot of trouble if she did whatever they said lalkdfjahf but it's totally cool for her to continue being bitter towards the race as a whole! DOES THAT...make any sense idk ;; /spent the last 3 hours writing her paper I HOPE THAT HELPS A LITTLE THOUGH ;; <33 Ahhh I'd love RP with you once you get her all set up and enrolled! *u* She's lovely~~

Oh, you're very welcome! I'm sorry I didn't provide more positive feedback when I posted last, as I wasn't in all that good a mood, but I forgot to say what I really liked about what you had on her already! I was charmed by the idea that she had never before seen anything with physical eyes, so the whole world would be a new experience. Already that sounds like it would be really fun to roleplay with, both for you and whoever your character interacts with.
Even more was the little twist that even though she's a shadow elemental, she's bubbly and cheerful! It also seems to reflect a sort of metaphoric symbolism in the fact that while her element is shadow, her physical features, face, and eyes are of a beautiful, luminescent complexion. The fact that she wears a hood to shade her face also seems to symbolize to me that secret, contradictory personality of hers hidden behind the shadows of her existence as a shadow elemental. Wonderful job!
I really hope my student gets to meet Emily sometime soon, especially since they both seem to be new to the school!

Haha, as a side-note, is it stupid that I find it amusing that she looks like she's peering into blindingly bright sunlight, and yet her eyes appear to be just as bright? Gives a whole new meaning to the term 'bright eyes'. XD Which reminds me of that 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' music video...
OH! I KNOW WHO SHE REMINDS ME OF! HOLY HECK, how did I not notice that before?!
Mangshra, do you know of the series Mushi-shi?! If not, then I highly recommend you watch at least part of it, because there are more than a couple of beings/spirits/mushi from that series that remind me of Emily.
I especially suggest watching the episodes 'The Light of the Eyelid" and "One-Eyed Fish". The episodes don't really go in any order and they only have one character in common, so no need to worry about getting spoilers or anything. Each episode usually explains a certain mushi/spirit/being, and the two mentioned in each of those episodes aren't really supposed to have any connection to each other (at least I didn't think so), but come to think of it, their connection to Emily is starting to make me wonder if they aren't connected to each other...
...Aaaand if I sound like I'm just babbling nonsense, please ignore me. XD I just have an obsession with finding connections between things like these, especially in mythology. Might make more sense if you watch those episodes. It's on Netflix if you have it! (It's also on YouTube, but it's the subbed version, and this is one of the few anime shows that I prefer the dubbed to the sub. XD)
This and this are based on the same scene from the One-Eyed Fish episode. Remind you of Emily a little? Specifically, the Tokoyami (Total Darkness) mushi and the Ginko (Little Silver One/Silver Child) mushi coexisting together is what makes me think of her as an elemental. The two mushi are symbiotic because the Ginko (the light spirit) dwells within the Tokoyami (the shadow spirit) and appears as a sort of 'silver fish' swimming in a sea of darkness, the darkness being what consumes living creatures and the light being what digests them. To me, Emily seems like a combined entity of both.
Either way, I hope it'll help you research Emily better and possibly give you more ideas for roleplay!

The Acceptance Bin had made up its mind. It had a plan that involved a lot of cunning, a lot of bravery, and the more it thought about it, said plan also seemed to take a lot of effort. The Bin thoughtfully chewed on a student application as it thought before it sprawled across the floor, content to lie there and stare at an interesting speck on the while while it contemplated whether or not getting up to move two feet to the left was worth it or not. mangshra Emily Shadrean is approved for RP! You may create her journal and begin to RP~
