((Continued from...))

"...and then you're there!" Troy beamed before realizing what he had done. He looked at his surroundings - the stables of Troy. Just as he thought he was appearing to be smart, he accidentally kidnapped a girl and brought her to space. Oops. "Erm, wait, uh...well, this is my wonder."

Troy was flustered and embarassed, ready to transport back at that very moment, but more afraid of how Aventine would react than anything...until something he really should have been afraid of spoke up.

---

"Your wonder?" a voice laughed. A spectral figure of his ancestor, Oreius, the former Knight of Troy, emerged from one of the stable pens. "This is my wonder, Ricky and don't you---who is this?"

He eyed Aventine up and down.

"Don't tell me you met someone with so little intelligence to be your girlfriend," Oreius grinned.

Whatever Aventine had been expecting, it wasn't this. She felt like she'd been dropped on a boat and hadn't yet developed sea legs. The ground below her was sturdy enough, but the surrounding was totally different from the park they'd just been standing in.

It seemed like this was the first time the concept of wonders was really hitting the page, and she was far too enamored with the whole situation to even be amused with Troy's embarrassment.

The only thing that really managed to knock her out of her stupor was another voice, and she immediately directed her gaze towards the newcomer by the stable pens. Given that he knew Troy—Ricky—she figured he wasn't a stranger, but laugh or not, he certainly didn't seem to be a friend.

"That's a bit offensive, you know," Aventine quipped, and even if the jab was directed at Troy, she couldn't help but be a bit huffy. "Aventine, Venus," she introduced, not really sure of proper procedures when dealing with a damn ghost thing. Even all her supernatural fantasy and late night dabbling in oddly occult storybooks hadn't prepared her for this.

"He was just," she came to an abrupt pause, as if considering her words, and then hastily finished, "Giving me a tutorial and got a little too into it." Turning to the current Troy and, despite the saccharine smile she kept on her face, she hissed, "Right? —Or did you get tired of waiting until dinner already and decided to whisk me off now?"

"Naw, naw, no!" Troy insisted. s**t, he really didn't mean to send her off to space. Was this a good first impression or a bad one? He wasn't sure what this would constitute as. Technically he kidnapped her and brought her to a stable with a mean dead ghost of his ancestor, so it probably wasn't good. But on the other hand....

Nope, he couldn't think of a positive. His mind just went to Aventine's boobs. They were very nice...

...right, no, bigger things to deal with. Well, not that they were small but...

"Damnit," he muttered trying to focus. "Sorry, got tits in my brain. Er, not someone else's tits. Your tits. I mean, ferk, I'm sorry. I can try to get us home now..."

---

"Leaving so soon without even a hello to your great-great-and-so-forth-great-grandfather?" Oreius grinned. His grandson was struggling to communicate in front of the girl, and he was enjoying every moment of his descendant's agony.

"I'm sorry darling, I don't mean to be offensive," Oreius explained. "Aventine you say? Of Venus? Hm, very interesting..." He paused for a moment. "It is just that my grandson here isn't the brightest wick on the cake. It doesn't surprise me that he brought you here under false pretenses, or through his stupidity."

It was almost immediately after Troy had informed her what he was staring at that she let out an indignant huff and glanced down at her own cleavage. She didn't think she had anything popping out obscenely, but just to be sure she reached around her bodice and tugged it up as much as she could.

"No, it's fine," she insisted to Oreius. "Just caught me off guard, that's all. See, I haven't been to my wonder or anything, so this guy," she elbowed Troy, in as friendly a manner possible, "Was just trying to help me out. So. I'm sorry for dropping in and, if he would like, he is more than welcome to take me back to the real world and I won't intrude on either of your, uhm."

She paused and looked between the two, words only just then really sinking in. "Oh, I'm sorry. Your grandson? You know, I seriously never would have guessed."

Mostly because that was just really fricking weird. "…Does this happen for all knights? If I go to my wonder do I get to meet my grandmother or is this some special Troy-only thing?" she asked, figuring if she was going to be here, she'd like to know what to expect from her own wonder. Like, maybe if she needed to prepare to meet her ancestor and try and figure out how to make a good impression.

Oreius and Troy looked at each other, then back at Aventine and shrugged nearly simultaneously.

"I dunno if its all Knights, but I reckon it could be," Troy thought. He hadn't really spoken to very many Knights, and certainly not about their families or ancestors. It was...kind of a touchy and aggravating topic for Troy, so he avoided it when he could. Like during times where he wasn't kidnapping girls off the street. Those sorts of times.

"I could take you back if you want me to, it ain't that big of a trouble or nothing...unless Oreos has an issue," he continued on, looking to his ancestor for approval who gave a small nod of allowance.

----

"Please stop calling me Oreos, you know my name is Oreius," the ancestor grumbled.

----

"Right, whatever," Troy rolled his eyes to his ancestor before turning to Aventine. "Ya think you're ready to go back to Earth? And uh...we're still on for that dinner right?"

For as fascinating as her wonder had once sounded, Aventine was now wondering if she ought to dread heading back to the place. What if she got stuck with some weird, angry ancestor? Or some creepy dope? …What if they fought like cats and dogs?

The possibilities were endlessly horrifying, and she figured, all of a sudden, that maybe it wasn't so important that she visited her wonder immediately. "Yeah, taking me back sounds great, Troy," she said, forcing a smile on her face to hide the uncertainty of dinner.

At the end of the day, this had been an adventure—and Aventine did enjoy adventures. And Troy had been fun! And educational! And was already introducing her to the relatives. "Yeah, so," she took a step closer to Troy. "How do we do this, the whole getting back thing? —Oh," she turned to Oreius and, not wanting to leave lest he somehow find some way to follow her back home and haunt her house, "And it was fabulous to meet you, sorry for dropping in so unannounced."

Oreius nodded to the girl and ignored Troy as he vanished into the air.

"Well he's a creepy guy, huh?" Troy laughed. He wasn't exactly sure how to get her home, but maybe if he touched her? He looked at her body, examining places that he could touch. Eventually, his mind settled that holding her hands might be the most appropriate option. He reached out to take her hand as he focused on returning home, concentrating deeply until they vanished from the stable and returned to the streets of Destiny City.
