Mistaken for Closeness walked, softly, almost ghostlike, through the swamp, gently gliding past trees with distant disinterest. Her face was flat, cold and she didn't seem to notice her surroundings, not the trees, nor the creatures that flitted past or the small prey that scattered should she disturb their hiding places. Two small animals, pressing close, in love so much as they believed they could love, might earn her dispassionate disdain, but nothing could gain much of a reaction out of her. Something seemed to chill her bones, yet the doe did not think so. She walked as she always had, not much of a care or worry on her mind, a quiet, inward, solitude that seemed to suit her so well. She was a doe who did not spend her time with others. Even though she may occasional pass some kin by during her wanderings, she rarely spent more than a few fleeting moments with them, let them see her, but she never truly saw them.
She could not.
She had seen enough in her dreams to know the truth of matters. Those who thought otherwise were only deluding themselves. The world was a cold, dark world, and for all that kin spent time smiling at each other, yelling, pressing as close as physically possible, singing together, they were all still basically alone, as lonely and singular as a distant star. She wanted to tell them, to whisper in their ears and let them see, to save them from themselves, but they would never listen, too caught up in their illusions and machinations to realize the truth. At least she knew better. Her name made it all too clear that she knew so. And so, she was aloof, not by choice, but because it was natural, because that was the only true way to live.
She would not lie to herself.
She would not be mistaken.
Because what's mistaken for closeness is nothing at all. Just lies.Prima Aria Ahhh! My first RP post with her! I'm so excited! Thank you for agreeing to RP with me! Oh gosh, sorry about double quote, found a spelling error in the title...

This particular area of the swamp was darker than the rest. The abundance of trees were endless, and it always seemed like night. A place full of cobwebs, bats, and any undiscovered inhabitants would most likely be found here. Not many dare pass by. Any kin who had came about this dense area of the swamp had the feeling of being watched, it was most likely because they were. It had became a place for those who did not enjoy daylight, a perfect home for Macabre and his family.
296... 297... 298... 299... 300...
Macabre had been following her; always watching. Hidden. Counting down every second he had done so the moment he laid eyes on the mysterious looking doe. Very light on his hooves, this made it easy for him to keep his presence well hidden, almost as if he had been floating. He knew this place like the back of his hoof. This made it easier to watch her. The doe seemed lonely, and this made him all the more curious. It was the first time he had found any kin of the opposite sex to be rather enticing. Before he could even think, he was already following her.
Would she notice? It didn't seem so. A slight grin on his face during his pursuit.
Amorpheous ; A ; I hope this is okay... and I'm excited for this RP. I love her already. Macabre you creepy b*****d, stop stalking her. Dx

It did not occur to the doe that the feeling of being watched was strange. For her, it was a hazard of all creatures having eyes. She simply floated on, walking as if it were bright and there were no shadows obstructing her sight. It did not bother her in the slightest that the swamp was darker here than many place else. It was all the same to the distant doe with the closed off face who walked for the sake of walking, no more no less.
Not to meet somekin, not to seek an adventure, not because she felt the need to. She walked. And sometimes she walked until she could walk no longer, could do nothing but stop and lay down.
Mistaken for Closeness closed her eyes and moved instinctively; she did not need eyes to navigate so long as she could feel the swamp beneath her hooves. She followed the contours of the land as easy as her eyes did when they were open. Every step seemed as effortless as the last, and yet she gained no satisfaction from the knowledge that tripping was not one of her gaits, that somekin could tear her eyes out and she would still be the same doe she was with sight. She seemed to be folded in on herself, and yet, open all the same. She accepted all things, yet she turned all things away as natural as breathing because no matter how much they tried, there was no closeness. There was always a chasm between her and everything else. Nothing could touch her.
No lingering gaze, no silent breath, no hidden steps.Prima Aria It's perfect! I love stalker Macabre, he's so lovely already! I can't wait to see where this goes!

To his surprise the doe was unphased. She did not seem to take her surroundings into account. Usually when any kin passes by Macabre's territory, they always rushed to get out. Was she lost maybe? It didn't seem so. Perhaps she was in search of something?
Curiosity getting the better of him, Macabre started closer. Inch by inch; kind of like how a lioness stalks her prey before they pounce. They were side by side now, of course he was still hidden, not wanting to startle her... too much.
"Are... you... lost?" he asked, the words dragging little more than necessary.
Amorpheous I'm glad. Ugh was half asleep. Sorry. Still quite new to animal RP. sweatdrop He doesn't know why he's doing it but he just is. Never thinks before he acts, this one.

She did not think much of the presence that came towards her, all too aware, she merely opened her eyes, gave a long slow blink, and slid her eyes to her side, her slight movement coinciding with the buck's slow words. Mistaken for Closeness did not answer, at least not immediately. She simply looked at the buck, her eyes almost seeming to go through him, so unfocused her gaze always seemed. He had bones on his face and blood seeping from his eyes.
She had to wonder if he approached her hoping to find a friend, if he was, he would be sorely disappointed. But he had death on his face, so perhaps he would understand, even if not like her, he would be content to stare across the gap. She could tolerate that.
Head tilting slightly to study the buck, Mistaken for Closeness regarded the buck carefully, with blank, quiet eyes before responding, voice sliding like water slipping from her mouth, no hard edges, like the water had disappeared before hitting the ground, "No, I'm not."Prima Aria Haha, I'm at school right now. Sorry for the wait! And he's perfect~ Don't worry, Mistaken for Closeness doesn't really care if he thinks before he acts or not.

A malicious grin appeared on Macabre's face, it didn't necessarily mean he had anything in mind, this is just how the buck smiled. Period.
"I see..." he said, as he walked in circles around the doe, studying her. His eyes never blinking, taking mental pictures as he encircled the pink doe. Macabre had exceptional memory. He remembered every kimeti, acha and any other kin that has passed by his territory. The buck never understood why they were so eager to get away from his home. Was it not good enough? The dark, eerie, shadowy part of the swamp was the most beautiful, to him.
Looking at her with a bemused expression. He knew all too well that he was born from death itself, along with his two sisters, in which almost everyone found them intimidating. If not, just creepy. But the pink doe didn't look frightened at all. She was clearly different.
"I don't... get... many visitors around here... Are you looking... for something? If you are not lost." he asked slowly out of curiosity. His voice was ragged, and echoed through the quiet swamp.
Amorpheous Ah! No problem. Sorry for the lateness as well. I've been kinda eh. xD;

His smile was not so kind, not welcoming, but that was better than anything that Mistaken for Closeness had ever experienced. Better malicious, better cruel, than to create a false sense of opening oneself up, inviting another in. No, this was fine. The buck was fine. For now. She knew better than to assume that he understood though, he probably didn't, but if he didn't believe the opposite, she could humor him, could stand with him, walk with him, without feeling disgust bubbling up low in her belly.
She wasn't unnerved, in fact, perhaps oddly comforted, by his scrutiny. Most kin didn't bother to commit the physical traits of those they met to memory, they were too busy making emotional connections. To be studied was... New. But welcome. It meant that he was focused on the distance of the physical rather than the mistaken closeness of the emotional. She didn't smile, it wasn't something she did often, but she stilled and closed her eyes again, let him look.
With her eyes closed, she heard more, heard more sharply. She listened to him speak, question her, and she shook her head minutely, he would see. No, she wasn't. Kin did not always need a reason to go anywhere, she certainly never did.Prima Aria Sorry for taking forever to reply!
