User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Dorian was rather perturbed, he had been trying to catch Ursula for days now to talk with her about not getting a chance to meet her. He had intended to meet her a few days ago after the fiasco with the gryffindors by the Black Lake, but he had been intercepted before he could get there. Despite his having tried to reason with them that he hadn't sexually abused her, they had still gone to the Head of their House and told on him.

Dorian had been grabbed after coming in the side door of Hogwarts and been taken off to serve a rather severe detention for his actions. Worse yet, a letter had been sent to his father of the whole account. Of course the damn Gryffindors had exaggerated the whole thing. 'He forced himself on her, and then he hit her really hard.' Dorian had been shocked and rather mad about their lies, but somehow the teacher hadn't believed his account of the story. Dorian wasn't sure if the teacher had even talked with Ursula to confirm it. It seemed as if the gryffindor boys' account had been enough for him.

He had been trying to catch her for days so they could talk, he had no clue if she knew what had happened or not. If she did, she was just being cruel for not sticking up for him. It rather annoyed him. What kind of a person was she to let lies get spread about him like this? He thought that she had liked him. Apparently he had been wrong.

Perhaps they had gone a little too far too fast, and Dorian had been too quick in getting familiar with her. He couldn't help but feel responsible for some of what had happened. They were after all still young, and getting that involved without really thinking things through hadn't been very smart. Still..Dorian couldn't help his feelings. He just hoped that she was willing to take things slow so they could have an actual relationship instead of a stupid fly by fling.

"Mr. Devereux, would you please tell the class who invented Wolfsbane?" Professor Fairfront queried bringing Dorian back to fact that he was in the middle of Potions class.

"That would be Damocles in the mid 1970s or later." Dorian intoned in an almost bored fashion.

"Good so you are paying attention. Now then class, I would like you each to write 100 lines about Wolfsbane and it's inventor. I expect them to be turned in tomorrow at the beginning of class. You are dismissed." She replied tritely and then started gathering up her things.

Dorian was glad class was over, and determined that today he was going to catch Ursula to have that talk. However, he wasn't going to wait until she was out of class surrounded by her House Mates. Otherwise they'd more than likely gang up on him again. He quickly gathered up his things not even caring if his things made a mess in his bag. He strode purposefully over to the table where Ursula was sitting and stood over her.

"We need to talk Ursula, the sooner the better." Dorian told her in a low voice. "and if we can do it without your gryffindor goons that would be great."

User ImageUrsula sighed when Professor Fairfront assigned them a paper. She wasn't particularly looking forward to writing that! Though I suppose I have to, ever since her incident at Durmstrang, her father wanted her to do all of her schoolwork in a timely and ethical manner.... Which meant not using boys to do it for her.

To make things even better, before she could leave, Dorian was right in front of her. "They aren't my goons," Ursula responded with a frown, packing up her things and throwing her bag over her shoulder. "Would you care to explain what happened last week?" She inquired with a haughty voice.

He did TWO things to wrong her.

Firstly, even though she had every intention of sitting down with Dorian and telling him she wanted to take things slower (if anything at all), she was still peeved that her stood her up. Ursula had waited for an hour for him! She never waited for guys! I'm not even sure if something happened to him or if he just was being a jerk... Merlin's Beard, she shouldn't even care about him! Ursula knew she shouldn't be bothered by it, but she was. Just a little bit. But over the past few days of talking with him, most of that care turned into cold indifference.

Secondly, after pulling her underneath that damn frigid water, Ursula was sick with a cold for the next few days. It was horrid nightmare filled with sniffles, a high temperature, and some coughing. She was just beginning to feel better! Not to mention she still had work to make up in class.

Ursula gave Dorian a glance before beckoning him out of the room with her. "Here is as good as spot as any" Ursula declared once outside the classroom, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed. Most of the students were already down the hall; their laughter and voices slowly dulling as they grew further and further away.

Dorian couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her statement. "Oh really?" He muttered more to himself than her. "Could've fooled me." He added with a dark glower.

"I am more than willing to tell you, but not here where they can hear." He said jerking his head in the direction of the gryffindor boys sitting around her. Thankfully they hadn't noticed that Dorian was talking to her or a fight might have occurred.

Dorian had no clue that she had been waiting for him in wet clothes, otherwise he might have tried to send her a note. Not that it would have gotten to her. He had been cleaning bathrooms for hours that afternoon. He had been so tired after his detention that he hadn't even thought to send her a note to apologize.

He had noticed she had been walking around with a nasty cold and had wondered if he had been the cause. He had kind of beat himself up over it, he hated to see her in such a miserable state. At least it appeared the kids in her House had taken care of her and helped her get better. That at least they were good at.

Dorian followed after her, pulling the handle of his bag across his shoulders. "First I'd like to apologize for not meeting you like I had promised. I got nabbed by your House Head and stuck in detention for the rest of the day for what i did to you." He told her with a sigh. "Did my pulling you under result in that nasty cold? I'm sorry for that. I hope you weren't waiting around with a wet head for me. How long did you wait for?"

Ursula couldn't help but roll her eyes at what Dorian muttered. She found it more of amusing than offensive so she didn't comment on it any further. He sounds bitter...

And then it all made sense after Dorian explained it all to her. Immediately, Ursula's brow furrowed. She didn't like that the Gryffindor boys tattled on Dorian, she didn't like it one bit. In fact, she was almost certain she was going to have to have a stern talk with those boys when she was finished talking with Dorian. I don't need their protection, she thought angrily, tossing her hand through her hair in exasperation. What was it with guys? Real life wasn't a fairy tale with damsel in distresses being wooed by the brave knight. They need to grow up...

But despite being bothered by those Gryffindor boys, Ursula still wasn't exactly all forgiving of Dorian either. "I didn't wait that long," she said casually. I don't want him to know how long I waited... I don't want it on his conscience or belittling my pride. Not only that, but honestly! Why was she just hearing about this excuse now? Even if he had detention, he still should have somehow managed to get a note to her relatively soon. It didn't have to be the same day but the next would've been fine. Oh yeah... I shouldn't even care, Ursula reminded herself.

"Look... Dorian," Ursula started, readjusting her bag on her shoulder. "I'm not sure what's between us right now," where am I going with this again? She sighed. "It's not that I don't like you but I think we could use some space." And this is the part that guys usually didn't take well... "You talked about sex earlier. Sex. We aren't old enough for that... Not for a long time. And all this touching that we're doing," Ursula waved her hand towards him, "I don't think we should do it--not if sex is the ultimatum you have in mind." Ursula paused, hating what she was about to say, "Not if a committed relationship is what you have in mind..." She looked away from him, feeling suddenly very guilty. But hell. She wasn't cut out for a committed relationship; she's never even been in one before! Ursula wouldn't know what to do with herself and she didn't like Dorian enough to dive into something like that. He was cute and admirable... but who was she kidding?

"We barely even know each other," Ursula started again, once again readjusting her bag on her shoulder. "I don't know the first thing about you and you don't know the first thing about me," She sighed, anxiously brushing her hair back from her face. "... Basically, I don't think you expect the same thing as I do from whatever we were doing... And I think you like me in a way that I don't like you." Ursula sucked on her lip for a second. "I'm sorry."

Dorian noticed that Ursula's brow furrowed as he was explaining what had happened. So she hadn't know. Well then he couldn't blame any of it on her. Perhaps if she had been approached she would refuted the whole thing. It was rather too late to even think about that though as it was already past.

Despite her casual remark, Dorian knew that she had waited quite some time for him. He felt bad about that. He could have made more of an effort to tell her. That was erraneous on his end so again, something that was on him. He couldn't really go back and change it now. It was all rather frustrating. If only he had thought more about it and stayed on top things could have been a lot different.

Dorian knew the moment she started speaking what was coming next. He couldn't help but feel hurt that she was doing this to him. Here she had led him on and allowed him to think that she was into him. He rather didn't care for how she had led him on and felt that she would have made a much better slytherin than gryffindor.

He felt his blood go hot when she started blaming it all entirely on him. What a b***h. He really wanted to slap her, but clenched his mouth tightly and waited for her to finish.

"First, you really could have verbally said this before I went too far. Your allowing it to get to this speaks volumes on your character," He found himself saying in a rather dull tone.

He shoved his hands into the back of his pants to keep himself from strangling or hurting her, since he felt like doing that right now.

"And if you think I had that on my mind, then you don't know me. I was taking my cues from you. Since you didn't push me away or say anything I thought it was what you wanted. Perhaps you should work on yourself for awhile. " He added sharply.

He sucked in a deep breathe of air and tried to reign in his deep feelings of hurt and rejection. By the look on her face she didn't even seem sorry about the way she had treated him. Well..fine. If she didn't want anything to do with him so be it.

"So true," Dorian replied. "You're right I don't know you. I doubt anyone will ever know the true you if you keep this up."

His heart felt as though it had been wrenched from his chest and jumped on. Why the hell did it have to hurt this bad? Dorian vowed he would never look at another girl while he was at Hogwarts. He was going to keep his mind and attention on doing school and hanging out with friends. Girls were the worst form of torture in the world. Especially when they were like Ursula.

"Well now you'll never know what I expected. Have a nice life." Dorian replied. "I've had enough, I'm leaving. Oh and do us both a favor and don't come near me again. Don't worry about me, I won't be bothering you ever again."

Ursula felt a pressure on her chest the entire time Dorian spoke. Ah... Well, what was she expecting? Of course he wouldn't be happy with her but she hadn't expected a response like this. He started ripping on her, blaming what he did on her. In a sense, Ursula could see it... but he acted the way he acted because he wanted to. Even if Ursula flirted and tempted him, it was still Dorian who gave in to that. Blaming it all on me... Ursula felt her face redden with anger and she clenched her jaw and waited for him to be done.

She didn't retort, she didn't bicker, she didn't yell at him. Who was he to tell her to work on herself? What an a*****e... She thought, her jaw clenching again and she looked at him. How little he looked now.

It wasn't like she was rejecting him completely but apparently just liking him wasn't enough. Good thing, too, because it was better for Ursula to see his true character now than later. Oh, the names she wanted to call him!

But she didn't, she just listened to him until he was done and then nodded. "Alright." She responded, looking him straight in the eye before walking past him down the stairs. I don't want to deal with a guy like that... He wasn't even worth arguing with--she didn't have to defend herself against who obviously wouldn't listen to what she said. What she may have felt for Dorian was gone now and she honestly never wanted to see his face again.

Of course she was hurt by all this. Her stomach felt like someone just stuck their hand in and twisted. But she didn't want to give Dorian the pleasure to see how much his words hurt her so she quickly went down the stairs. I don't ever want to see him again, she thought, rubbing her hand on her neck in a futile attempt to release the lump forming there. I'm not going to cry, she told herself, swallowing hard. It's not even worth it.

Dorian had no idea how much his words had hurt her or struck her so much. Of course he hadn't really been thinking about what he was saying, he had been speaking out of hurt. Which meant he had said things merely to hurt her back. All of this wasn't helping matters for either of them.

Of course Dorian didn't realize this at the time, him being a young thirteen and trying to make her understand how much she had hurt him. Dorian felt all his emotions balled up in the center of his chest making it tight and difficult for him to breath. He watched as she stoically took his criticism without saying a word back in her defense. Something was wrong, he could tell that much but he wasn't about to go after her when she stumbled off.

"Bloody hell," he murmured "Why do I feel worse now than before?"

Dorian lowered his head, feeling rather ashamed with what he had said to her. He had noticed she was trying to say something but he hadn't allowed her to speak. Now he wished he had. He sighed roughly and ran his hand through his hair.

"Why does love have to hurt so bloody much?" he wondered as he made his way down the hall, still smarting and feeling rejected.
