Amityville Academy is going to resurrect an ancient tradition: Fright Night! For one night, Amityville Academy turns its school grounds into a large outdoor festival celebrating and highlighting the skills and talents its students have learned and developed during their studies. While it may appear to be similar to the Jack o' Lantern Festival at a glance, Fright Night differs greatly. There are two main purposes to Fight Night: the first is to give the students a chance to kick back and relax in a school-sanction festival. The second reason? Fundraising.
Fright Night is an event that is open to the public, where civilians and students from other schools may visit Amityville Academy and partake in the festivities for a small fee. This event will not only give outsides a glimpse into life at Amityville Academy, but it will also give ample opportunities for people to obtain the more elusive of minipets exclusive to Amityville Academy.
The booths at Fright Night are, in large part, run by the students. Students can take the opportunity to show off their talents, promote their clubs, or even create their own nook in which to hang out in. Many students also seize this opportunity to get their name out to their peers. After all, it's never too early to start thinking about running for the Student Council.
Fright Night itself is a festival that lasts for only one night. While traditionally it was only students who can run a booth, Amityville Academy is extending an invitation to their neighbors the Four Clans to also partake in the festivities. However, Amityville Academy will still take a percentage of all proceeds to go towards the school. Nevertheless, this presents an excellent opportunity for those unfamiliar with the Clans to finally meet them and learn more about them.
There is still plenty of time to prepare for Fright Night. Are you ready?

*** Regardless of a character's type, all characters are eligible for minipet prizes so long as they participate in RP. ***
STUDENTS: All Amityville Students and Faculty are invited to create a booth! The intention of these booths is to raise funds for Amityvill Academy. Funds earned will be put towards improvements on campus. This includes but is not limited to expanding the size of current dorm rooms and improving facilities. While Amityville Academy is aware that the demon dorm has many of these already due to outside funding, these improvements are in large part for other dorms. For the demons, there will be an opportunity to acquire additional roomspace for private servants including but not limited to extra gnomes and hired help. This opportunity is also not limited to those within the demon dorms. For the Faculty, funds acquired from this event can be put towards improving classrooms and teacher pay.
HORSEMEN: Amityville Academy has extended the invitation to create a booth to members of the Four Clans. After paying a small IC fee, members of the Four Clans can also create and run a booth of their choosing. Though, granted, a portion of their earnings will go to Amityville. This is an ample opportunity for the Clans to meet their neighbors and more of Halloween as a whole.
HUNTERS:
Stay tuned; you will receive briefing later!
QUEST CHARACTERS: Quest characters may visit Amityville Academy and interact with anyone and everyone during Fright Night's festivities, however they may NOT set up a booth. If you are a quest char hang tight and you may start participating in thr meta once ths booths unfold for a chance at lots of goodies!
No character yet? Why not create one? To begin, please take a look at this guide. When you are ready to create a character, you can post your "character sheet" or quest form in our Quest Subforum! All your character needs is a name, race, personality, and appearance. Don't worry about a natural ability or FEAR, as those will not be in play for the event.
Again, Quest Characters may visit and participate in booth activities to earn Fright Night tokens, but they may NOT create a booth.

Follow all shop rules. Click here for a quick refresher!
Read the front page of all booths CAREFULLY. Some booths will have special rules. Everyone who runs a booth will be considered a "mini GM" for their booth. If you have questions about a specific booth, please contact the creator of that booth here in our festival QnA thread!
Please allow up to 48 hours for prizes to be sent out from winning, regardless of whether it is a token redemption or whether you are waiting for a booth prize. Prizes will not be sent out immediately; please give us time to come online and catch up! Thank you. You are also responsible for seeing if you win or not so make sure to check in to the booth/ check your quote notitifications.
If you create a booth, you are responsible for your booth. You are responsible for validating wins and sending out prizes. If shop staff receives three valid rule-breaking complaints about your booth it will be shut down. Make sure you specify for people to post their minis username for minipets gifted prizes and to always quote the winners
Rules are subject to change! Please check sticky threads often and keep an eye out for announcements! It is your responsibility to revisit threads and stay up-to-date on rule/information changes and updates.
Regardless of whether quest or existing character you do NOT have to create a booth! If you simply want to participate for a fun chance at minis prizes you don't need to sign up! Simply drop by when the official booths are open and just read each booth's game rules accordingly! This is a free for all meta for anyone interested! Only those making BOOTHS need to sign up! (below) however if there are no booths there are no games sad
A player can only play a game at a booth with ONE character! If you are participating in the event with more than one character you MAY NOT play the games with each character to earn double the rewards.
Most of all have fun! This festival is for EVERYONE! Even if you have a character manning booths, your character is still free to visit other booths! However you can only have one character playing at a time (active) OR a quest character per day. That means you cannot have two characters trying out per day at once. It is up to you which one you want to play.
By participating in booths you can potentially win anything from minipets to art, to everything in between. Make sure you follow the booth cues and only take prizes you have been granted. Occasionally you will also win Fright Night tokens from booths! See below (how to booth) on how to redeem them!
NEVER DELETE YOUR POSTS! If you make a mistake, EDIT it with ((Mistake, please ignore!)) instead of deleting it! We may request you to step out of the meta if we catch you excessively deleting posts. sad
Guest/Quest students may not use or have a natural ability, natural form, or Fear! EVERYONE is stuck in a humanoid form for the duration of this event! And by "humanoid" we mean "looks like a human with enough characteristics/attributes to turn them into a cat/dog/hamster/monster/etc boy/girl of their species. Not "centaur" or "human but has six limbs."

Fright Night takes place on Amityville Academy at various booths run by the currently enrolled students. Some booths are even being run by some of the local horsemen! All in all, a majority of these booths are run by players while others are being run by GMs, or the Game Moderators of the shop. There are a couple things we'd like you to keep in mind:
A booth may only be run by an existing character in the shop! If you have a quest character, some of these won't apply to you but it does help to read them over!
If you are running a booth, you are responsible for your own booth. This includes but is not limited to running games, validating wins, sending out minipet prizes, and answering questions regarding your booth. Remember, if TiH staff receives three valid rule breaking complaints about your booth it will be shut down! If you wish to file a complaint concerning a booth, please PM the shop mule WE ARE HALLOWEEN.
On a lighter note, if you are running a booth you are completely in charge of your booth. You can pick the theme, set up a game, offer prizes – the sky is nearly the limit! The only thing we will not allow is the selling of services. Your booth may not sell art or offer to trade minis, as we have two subforums for that in addition to the services offered on the minis site.
Before a player can get their tokens, the person running the booth must validate the win. This means you must QUOTE the winner and their post stating that they have indeed won and you have confirmed it. However, that brings up the next point:
All booths have a limited amount of tokens they can give out per day. All booths regardless of their type may only give out 10 tokens per day. Booths run by clubs, however, can give out 15. This limit may be subject to change. Keep an eye on the Festival Announcement thread for updates!
In addition to Fright Night Tokens, some booths may even give out SEs. These Special Edition minipets may be subject to additional rules set on by the player, ie the pet may not be used ICly, contact the issuer of the SE for a desired alt, don't use it at a main pet, etc etc.
Characters may only play in booths that are labeled with [OPEN] in the thread title. If a booth isn't open, you can't play and all posts within will be invalidated.
FRIGHT NIGHT TOKENS:
Fright Night Tokens are occasionally obtained by participating in various user run and GM run booths! If you win, make sure to LINK to your win (where you were quoted for the win). Then redeem it in the Fright Night token claim center! You will be granted to tokens on the minipet site for you to use (see below about the FREE SE RAFFLE and the minipets site booth!)

It's that time again! Student Council Elections are here! Fright Night is an excellent time to start advertising for a position on the SC, should your Amityville Student be inclined. Horsemen, Hunters, and Quest Students are ineligible for this opportunity.
OOC: WHAT IS STUDENT COUNCIL
ALL ENROLLED STUDENTS are eligible for student council. Students can apply for any position available on the clipboard, but you can only apply and run for one. If you have two characters and both run for different positions, you may only win ONE position on Student Council. You may run an SC booth AND a club/ solo booth at the same time for that char! (SC booths are a bonus)
Once again, the positions are:
President You are the figurehead of the student council and are the person who makes announcements and talks on the ickycom regarding student council decisions. You cannot however make a decision on your own without the approval of at least two of your council members. Vice president If the president is busy, you are the person to go to to manage the remaining issues. You help the president as well on making the big decisions or planning ideas. Secretary You manage and organize events and do all the paperwork. You are more of a planner, not a thinker. Public Relations: The student who creates all the ads, the banners, the colourful posters and anything they can think of in regards to an event. You help organise and manage actual events student council has thought of. Treasurer You (ICLY) organise all the money and funds student council has as well as how much costs you are alloted to what event, granted to you from the school. You can also fundraise from students to help with council events.
- ALL COUNCIL MEMBERS CAN HELP PLOT OR PLAN EVENTS, propose them and make them into reality!
So what happens in regards to the event?
Sign-ups, speeches, and voting will occur after the event. We are going to dive straight into campaigning. Your character can take this opprotunity to make buttons, make banners, be as creative or as fun as you would like for it in their efforts to pander votes in their favor! You can even do such things as ICly getting your 'friends' to stand up for you or to pass by buttons or the likes in an open rp. They can even pose outside the school yelling their lungs out, the options are limitless.
WHAT CAN STUDENT COUNCIL MEMBERS DO?
- It is like a glorified student club. Student council members have their own exclusive club which they can choose to create club rps for or not. There they can discuss events they want to run. THESE WILL BECOME STICKIED into orp events, such as an idea for 'spirit week' will be treated like how the 'monster ball' is being treated currently. Whatever open rp events they want to come up with is up to them! - They can also propose smaller scale 'meta' events that might affect all rpers. This again is up to them how they want to deal with it, all proposals can be brought up with admin staff and approved before getting started. This could be anything from something like a "school mystery hunt" to a "student council auction week" (where you sell the a student for pumpkin seeds to 'buy for a day', sounds familiar??) - Student council will also be able to hand out an exclusive 'student council' minipet themselves (each council member has this ability). Each student council member also gets their own shiny status badge. Ooooh!
