Valair sets his eyes on what he wants, then he goes out and gets it. He views the world with disdain, figuring that any world that would leave a child to struggle for survival on its own must be a terrible place. Perhaps one day, he could change that.
For now, he settles for using his wits and his charm to get what he wants, what he needs. He's survived on his own this long (the fate of any parents he might have had once is unknown), so he holds himself in high regard, arrogantly believing himself smarter than most upon initial encounter. Not that those things are out of place today, but they do sometimes seem a bit harder to find. He's a proper sort, ever a gentleman, bordering more on the 'knightly' type. A protector, a guardian, and a sentinel, he always strives to do what is right, willing to risk himself for the good of others.
At heart, he is a kind soul, wishing nothing but the best for others. However, he is not naive, and knows that these are troubled times. Peace is a hope for the future, but the path towards harmony may be littered with trouble and strife.
