Alright, I'm going to be a bit of an attention-hog here.
I. need. help. Badly. Rundown of events...
Sunday - Kiddo starts process to convert her 40 gig hardrive into a backup hardrive. Fixes up main drive, the 80 gig, and moves all data onto it. Studies for exam and goes to bed.
Monday - Boots up computer to a 'disk read error'. Cries for a bit, takes an exam, spends rest of day studying.
Tuesday - Gets computer fixing supplies together. Takes two exams, tries to fix her 80 gig. Finds out that this is beyond her expertise. Goes over to her two computer friends - who are infinately better than her (professionals) and spends the next six hours at their house. Final diagnosis - Kiddo is hosed at the precise worst timing ever.
In short, my hardrive has a scratch on the physical disk. Data is gone. Period. The technology to recover it does not exist or is inaccessable due to price. (aka, I ain't spending $100+ for this stuff) If it had just waited a few more hours, or even one more day, I would have been FINE. I was in the process of making sure that I could survive this sort of catastophe.
The data lost includes my edit files. What I'm asking for is if anyone has, for whatever reason, ANY of my edits, to please post a link to the location of them. I am going to try and rebuild my edit files and I'll need a starting point. It can be done. It will be difficult but it can be done.
I'm gonna really need your help if I'm going to ever get this done. I have to buy a new hardrive (I'm limping along on my old 40 gig backup right now), install, recover, AND finish a massive project by Friday.
So, if you can, please help. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

aww u poor thing *hugs* i had a system error new years even over a year ago now and i lost all my edits to that date plus a lot of my other stuff. I only ever managed to recover the stuff for my webcomic *big hugs* i feel your pain crying .
I ended up rescueing most of mine of my photobucket account where the majority we're stored thank god.
Wish so bad that i could help.

Shainu, that helps a lot. I thought I'd pretty much lose all of my converted mages as few have been bought.
I'll be looking through Meriko's guild here when I have the time to. I'm scrambling a bit as I have a huge project due Friday and well, heh, it was on the damaged drive.

Battleaxe, thank you, linking to this thread is a great idea. I don't have any banners as the computer I'm currently using has only the stuff on it I need to get by. No graphics software, no graphics for that matter, etc. So, time to get witty with text I guess.

*cries with you* Poor Kiddo! I know exactly how you feel. I've never done edits, but once I pushed a button (I don't even know what the button was) and accidentally erased a huge paper I was writing for school. Fixing your edits must be even harder, though. I didn't buy any, but I'll make sure to tell everyone about your predicament.
