Venezia was displeased - extremely displeased - and on the borderline of being pissed. It was rare for the carnival god to express emotions of anger. Insanity? Yes. Anger? No. But this may as well be considered a blue moon. He had went through the work of putting on a show for the people of Pockettu. He had performers, food, games, animals, and everything else festive at his disposal to put a smile on their faces. But to no avail.

He closed his eyes and tried to calm his nerves. Yet he was unable to shake the thought of being forgotten, casted to the side lines, even by his own followers. Day by day he silently and secretively overlooked his shrine and not a soul wandered forth. Neither newcomer or follower came to chat with him. It was true he was a relaxed God, not one to fuss over the spotlight being stolen, but the lack of communication with his own followers was what troubled him so much. He could let go newcomers and Pockettu owners not fawning over him or bringing to light new discussions, but his own people? No. That could not stand! Chances are they were all slacking off because the carnival was over. What a shame if that were the case. The amount of training they would need again when the next carnival rolls around...

A soft sigh could be heard before Venezia smirked under the mask. Again he approached his shrine and wondered if today would be any different.

Damion hisses softly to himself as he finally manages to pry himself away from attempting to make his haunted house game that much more confusing and terrifying for the next Carnivale. He wasn't having much luck in actually coming up with anything though, and he felt rather horrible for not creepering around his God's temple as devoutly as he should have been. Creeping in through what little shadows there were, slinking on all fours with his head downcast, rather like a dog expecting to have a shoe thrown at them, he inches far enough into the temple for the God to see him, then stopped, eyeing the floor in front of him as he was sure it was the least terrifying thing around at the moment. He hisses in what might be considered an apologetic way, and stays in place, waiting for either pain, acknowledgement, an order... well, pretty much anything from Venezia.

Letting his tail carefully sway behind him, there was something about Venezia's shrine that felt homely to Jianjun, homely but empty. He frowned to see that dust has been collecting, adding to the loneliness of the entire scene. He was going to open his mouth but he noticed someone else was there, another follower.

"Maybe this place isn't as empty as it looks..." he said.

For once, Brigita, the girl who had always known where to go and how to lead, felt utterly lost. It was like there wasn't a place in the world where she belong, where her services were needed, and she could simply maneuver mindlessly, effortlessly through crowds. There were no crowds gathering anymore, and no place where she could show off her skill and beauty; Venezia had no secrets for her to keep and places to leave the innocent. Perhaps, she thought, her God just did not have the time to seek her out and give her orders, offer her a new way to use her skills. Instead, she would go to him; bow down at his feet and offer herself for whatever he needed now that the carnivale had disappeared for a time. Stepping onto the grounds before the God's shrine, she spotted two other followers out of the corner of her eyes. "So I am not the only one lost." She said quietly, looking upon the beautifully decorated deity and his unyielding expression.

Angel had eyed Damion sneaking away from his haunted house, and decided to see what the little gremlin was up to. As she began to follow, she suddenly felt more aware of a presence pressing down on her. Noting how Damion was acting, it dawned on her that he was heading to Venezia's temple. She stopped suddenly, ashamed that she had neglected her god. Suddenly frightened, Angel attempted to quietly creep into the temple, even though she knew Venezia would be watching. She hoped her god would be merciful with her.

Kinai was cataloging the colors he had for his facepainting booth, when a sudden shudder overtook him. He felt incredibly uneasy, and a feeling of confusion and terror began moving up his spine. Looking up, he saw several others making their way to the temple of their god, and went cold. He'd ignored his master after having been given his gifts. How could he? Kinai took off at a sprint, tripping several times on the way there. After tripping at the entrance, he slid in on his back, stopping next to the strange one that ran the haunted house. What was his name again? Before he could remember, he looked up and saw the masked form of Venezia, and his terror returned.

One by one Venezia watched them all trail in. His head tilted to the side as one stumbled about like a fish and the other graveled at the alter. Others were more calm in their approach but the stench of terror and fear ruled the air. "Ah, welcome, welcome. Do not look so frightened."

The brightly colored god stepped out from behind the alter and bowed before his followers. How odd it was for a God to bow to the people who followed him but it was an odd quirk of his to say the least. "I have a simple question to ask you all. Why do you not come and visit? Now, now, don't be shy~! Answer me honestly!" Venezia laughed lightheartedly, masking the potential or else that loomed after honesty.

Damion stays in his previous position, making odd gurgling sounds that might be an attempt to speak and communicate, but knowing he probably wouldn't be understood, he raises himself just enough to raise one clawed hand and point int the direction of the Haunted House, which had a large "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" sign hanging haphazardly over the front door. He drops back down to all fours on the floor, and if he'd had a tail, it would probably be hiding underneath him at this point. He was sure that even though his God didn't seem upset that it was a ruse. He wasn't trying to make excuses, but he had been having quite a bit of frustration with his project.

Angel's eyes widened. She had no reason to have not visited, excuse or otherwise. "I...I don't know, my lord. I would try and lie and say I was busy, but I haven't been." She hung her head in utter shame, and tried not to cry as best she could.

Kinai blinked several times. "Uh..."

His tail swaying calmly behind him, Jianjun closed his eyes and sighed.

"Because both you and I have been forgotten." he said simply and walks over to the God, soon getting on both of his knees and bowed respectfully to him.

Brigita watched her God closely, eyes studying his every move, trying to understand his words and the meaning behind them. Holding onto her mask to keep it from falling and dipping her head as a sign of respect, she straightened herself out and opened her mouth to speak. Before any words could come out, the other followers that had gathered began to talk, to beg, to... Cry? What sort of people had Venezia chosen as his followers? She waited until they had stopped talking, watching their faces, before she returned her gaze to the God. "I have been lost, my lord. Lost and trying to find a way to make use of my talents. I assumed I could find something to do that would make you proud and prepare me for the next carnivale.... But I have come now seeking your guidance, for I know not what to do. I...." She faltered, suddenly unsure of her words. "I never thought of a simple visit. I did not know that was your wish, sir."

A simple nod was given to those who had shown their respects. Carefully he listened and acknowledged each reply. "I see... I would like it to be known that although I am a God, I do dwell in mortal matters. I would be delighted if you were to come to me with your problems now and then~" If anything it would give him something to do.

He flicked out a wrist and made a fan appear which he just tapped in the air a few time. "Step up and tell me what ails you. I will do my best to find a cure!" He laughed a bit and began pointing to each of them as he spoke.

"Damion I would like to see your Haunted House and what horrors await. Only once I've experienced your fine work myself can I suggest new attractions." Venezia pondered for a moment on possible ideas before turning to Angel.

"Do not cry my dear Angel. I mean no ill will. Curiosity always gets the better of me." The god grinned and bowed to her politely. "Smile and visit more often and I will ensure your life is filled with laughter."

Kinai's lack of response caused Venezia to frown. "Cat got your tongue?" He slowly approached the poor lad, the bells on his outfit jingling with each step. Swiftly he took the fan he had and placed it under Kinai's chin and lifted. "Learn to speak up! Be verbose!" Playfully he tapped Kinai on the head before stepping over towards the others.

"Forgotten? You? Not at all Jianjun. I think about each of you every day whether you realize it or not!" If it were the truth or not, no one would ever know. Or what he thought about. Venezia wasn't even sure. His thoughts were fleeting to say the least.

"Ahhh and Brigita there is always use for your talents. Sometimes one must think outside of our lifestyle to see them." He smiled and soon returned to the alter and sat upon it. "Say, since you're all here, care for a game or two? Cards? Ring toss? Water balloon fight?" He chuckled at the last one. If any of them truly sought guidance he was sure they would come to him after the gathering had departed.

Damion thinks for a moment, not sure that the attraction would be anywhere near horrifying enough for Venezia's approval, but, having his God's input would be a good thing. He gives a very very small nod, clacking his teeth for a moment before inching closer to Venezia's feet. He hisses slightly as he finally realizes that there were others in the temple as well. With how reclusive and odd he was, it was amazing he'd ever managed to get a mate, if one thought about it.

User ImageUser Image There were lights on in the temple. Noises coming from within. With those things going on of course Silk had taken notice. However...he found himself dragging his feet in approaching the temple. He didn't know who was in there and it made him feel apprehensive. So when Espia crept up behind him and snatched the smaller Pockettu up in her arms...he was not ashamed to admit he screamed. Just a little bit.

Espia had been delayed for...motherly reasons. When she saw her amuseing little friend taking tiny steps too small to be even called baby steps, she had decided to hurry him up and pick him up. After just a moment of flailing, Silk calmed down and allowed the jester pockettu to carry him like a over sized child into the temple.

Silk's blue eyes widened at all the people gathered, but he recognized them as carnival folk. That alone soothed the rapid beat of his heart. With a squirm he whispered to Espia. "You can put me down now." Silk did not want to talk too loud and perhaps interrupt someone actually having a important conversation.

Espia eyed Silk, and unceremoniously dropped the ribbon bedecked Pockettu on his rump at her feet. Unlike Silk, Espia felt a flutter of interest. Sure...she hadn't been around the temple lately, but that didn't make her feel ashamed. Truthfully very little unsettled the jester girl. With her tail curling into a question mark like position, she bounced on her toes around the various people gathered before her God Venezia.

Angel bowed back respectfully with a sigh of relief. "Yes, my Lord. I will do my best to visit you more often." With a smile, she awaited for the others to decide what they wanted to do.

Kinai squeaked as he was tapped. Crap, he'd blown it with Venezia. But he didn't seem angry, just mildly irate. Watching as his God approached the others, he decided he would try not to let his fear show so much. His opportunity presented itself right then, too. "Cards! Cards are fun!"

Venezia eyed the two latecomers with a mild disapproval. He knew very well of Silk's timid nature and it deemed it to be the reason the performer never ventured to the temple. He shook off this mild feeling and smiled warmly to everyone. "Ah, cards it is. But let us be untraditional today."

He flicked his wrist and sent a card through the air with deadly accuracy towards one of his followers. "Quick, catch it and do what it says." He smiled warmly. Each card has a random silly task the lucky Pockettu must complete. It could be anything from pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time to trying to do a handstand. It could even be something bizarre. Possibilities are endless. The only problem is trying to catch it and not let it hit you. Venezia was not kind when he threw cards, the speed was similar to that when he knew a knife. It was deadly and pretty much accurate.
