User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Lothar triumphantly made his way out of his History of Magic class, with a smirk on his face. He found it amusing that the other first years in the other Houses hadn't remembered a bit of the assigned reading. Of course he had. He always remembered everything he read, and had shown that in class today. He had been so knowledgeable that the other Ravenclaws; as well as his cousin Louvenia had been annoyed with him.

He thought it funny that everyone else in the class had been assigned more homework, while he hadn't. He had also gotten ten points for his House. At least that had brightened up his classmates and had them congratulating him. Now the Ravenclaw's were in the lead. He intended on keeping the Ravenclaw House in the lead; and with both him and his cousin both vying for top grades it was more than likely they'd be accumulating more points among them than any other House.

Lothar was starting to go to the Ravenclaw Common room when a red headed girl caught his attention. He automatically changed his course of direction and began to follow her, wondering where she was going and why she was out of class so early. He ran his hand up the staircase railing as he slowly walked five feet behind her.

He had thought he had seen a flash of white and black on her head and was curious to see if it was her hair or just some girly hair accessory. For some odd reason hair fascinated him and he was always itching to check out girl's hair. He paused on the stairs to shake his long bangs out of his eyes and was annoyed when the staircase started to move on him. Crap! She was already on a different one way ahead of him!

Lothar ran up the stairs and leaped from the moving staircase onto the landing it had once been attached to. "Darn staircases. Who's idea was it to make them move around?" He muttered angrily and quickened his pace to catch up with the girl.

Vonali loved having a free period first thing in the morning. Gave her more time to rest and plan the day's mischief. Today she was off to her favorite pastime, pissing off the Gryffs and then she had an agreement with Sweet Cheeks to harass a Huffle. As she walked the hallways her head swung her ponytail back and forth.

Humming to herself she skipped up the stairs totally unaware she was being followed. Reaching her platform she turned to head into the hall when an older student bumped into her. " Stupid Twit!" As she tried to right herself the stairs starting rotating and she slipped falling towards the landing beneath.

For that moment in the air she was sure she was going to die. What an embarrassing way to go.

Lothar was rather annoyed when the staircase she was on started moving as well. He stood on the landing stamping his foot in annoyance when he heard her swear and looked up to see her falling through the air. How the heck had that happened? Had that other kid bumped into her or something.

Lothar lunged for her, knowing if she hit the landing from that height she'd more than likely break something or possibly slip off and fall to the floor, which was thirty feet below them. He caught her, only to be slammed into the landing from the force of her fall. He gasped for breath for a few moments, before he could manage to get a word out.

"A-are you O-kay?" He gasped, still short of breath. Before she could move off of him, he leaned forward and sniffed her hair. He closed his eyes and laid back with a small smile playing over his face. Her hair smelled of strawberries and cream. Such a lovely smell.

Vonali just knew that if she survived this she'd unleash her fury at that kid. Her eyes closed bracing for the impact, which wasn't as hard as she'd thought. Opening her eyes she turned to notice someone had caught her. She nodded numbly, vaguely noticing his hair, when he leaned in and sniffed her hair. Wait, what he sniffed her hair?

So there she sat on this kid's lap staring at him. It probably took her a good minute to speak. " I fall on you and you react by smelling my hair?" She can't help but laugh at the situation. " Guess if we're going to be so close I should introduce myself then. Name's Vonali." Lifts one of her hands towards him.

After another moment or two she realizes people are staring and glares at them til they look away. " As comfortable as this is, we better move." She smiles and slowly tries to get up. Long as she goes slow she has little to no pain. She gives herself a once over to make sure there's no blood. " When I find that kid..." She leaves the threat hang open not wanting to have witnesses who can say it was premeditated.

Lothar cringed and blushed slightly at having been caught sniffing her hair. He was a bit surprised when she laughed, and he grinned back at her. "Yeah it's a bit odd I guess. I'm Lothar Alvesleben, despite the way we met, it is a pleasure to get to know you Vonali." he replied taking her hand gently and then kissed the top of it.

He could feel the stares of other people and turned and glared at them along with Von. He nearly laughed again, gosh they were a good deal alike. "Yes that would be wise." he replied giving her another smile.

He noticed she was moving rather slowly and frowned, had she still hurt herself from the fall? He had been so certain that by using his body to cushion hers that she'd be unharmed. Perhaps he had been wrong. "You don't hurt anywhere do you?" He asked getting to his feet quickly and felt a sharp twinge in his right side where he had landed with her on top of him.
"I'll help you find him." He offered.

Vonali smiled at his blush, only to blush herself as he kissed her hand. She brushed the feeling off, it did her no good to get attached to people. Either they'd be too impure for her family or she'd be too impure if the family was pure. Oh the complexities of her life. " Nice ta meet ya Lot."

Von grinned when she turned back to notice Lot glaring at their watchers. As he looked at her she rolled her eyes.

Von shook her head." Surprisingly no. I was afraid I would." Stands up straight and stretches. " You make a good cushion." She turned in time to see him get up. " How about you, you ok?" She watched him carefully after all she already owed him for saving her it'd up the anti if he'd hurt himself in the process.

Lothar grinned roguishly at her as she blushed in response to his kissing her hand. Such an amusing girl. One moment she was pushing his buttons and the next he was making her blush. He could definitely enjoy getting to know her.
"Actually it's pronounced Low-thar," he replied reaching out to brush the hair out of her eyes.

He reveled in the softness of her hair, already itching to touch it again. Somehow he managed to pull his hand away and he shoved it in the back pocket of his pants. Why was she rolling her eyes at him? Did he do something wrong?

He was relieved to hear that she hadn't been hurt. He stretched slightly and still felt a slight twinge of pain shoot up his right side. It wasn't really all that noticeable and he almost didn't say anything about it..but saw the way she was looking at him. "Well that's a relief, I'm glad I made such a good cushion for you. You're not exactly the lightest girl I've ever had the pleasure of catching," he said with a devilish grin. "I think I have a pulled muscle or something..other than that I'm fine."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 22, 2012 6:17 pm

That grin almost had her acting like a foolish girl she gave him a playful smirk." I know. I like Lot better." She gave him a wink and watched in silence as he moved the hair from her face. With a mumbled thank you she made sure everyone else had their eyes averted.

At his weight comment she playfully smacked his shoulder and raised her eyebrow, this one reminded her of Kenny. " Didn't your mother ever tell you not to compare your current rescue with your last?" Her tone was surprisingly light and teasing. Glad he wasn't hurt too bad she grabbed his arm that had been tuck in his back pocket and pulled him out of the stairwell, finally tired of all those people. She hurried them along until the crowds thinned out. " Too many people in there. I think we deserve the rest of the day off after that, don't you?" She gave him a mischievous grin.

Lothar could help but chuckle at her response. She definitely wasn't a shy creature like the majority of girls at Hogwarts. She was more like him, a sort of rebel without a cause.

"Well then by all means you can call me Lot. May I call you Von?"

Lothar laughed and rubbed his arm after she smacked him. The mention of his mother made him a bit ruffled, but he wasn't about to let anyone know why.
"Well no she didn't. I've had nothing to do with her since i was born." He replied with a slightly edgy tone.

He allowed her to grab him and pull him down the stairs. He was getting tired of people watching them as well, so he didn't put up a fuss. "Yeah I know. Why do people have to be so nosy?" He asked. "That actually sounds like a pretty good idea, though truthfully I've already gotten the rest of the day off already." He smirked at her.

Von nodded a yes when he asked about calling her Von. After all most did these days. She turned to him as they reached the end of the hall. " That stinks about yer mom. Though my folks have been shovin me around their relatives for years." She just shrugged as if it was no big deal and turned to go down the spiral stairs.

" They've got to be nosy to avoid the sad reality of their existence." She obviously didn't think much of others. Though being raised as your typical pure blood didn't help the matter either.

She raised an eyebrow as he mentioned already having the rest of the afternoon off. " Well aren't you lucky." She shrugged and looped her arm through one of his and headed up the spiral staircase. " No matter, you'll be my excuse for not being in class than." She was taking him up to the 4th floor where her favorite spot was, the music room. She knew no one was up here and she'd been dieing to play her guitar for awhile anyways.

Lothar shrugged as nonchalantly as he could when Von mentioned his mother. "That's got to be really annoying, having to move around so much. If you ever need somewhere to go, I'm sure my father wouldn't mind if you come visit. We've got a pretty big place." he found himself offering.

He rather felt sad for the girl, being forced to live with so many different relatives over the years. He knew his father wouldn't mind if he invited a few people to visit over the summer, as there were plenty of rooms. Plus he would be glad that Lothar wasn't just socializing in his own House but was branching out. Though..there was Louvenia to think about. He snorted. She'd probably be offended that he had invited a girl and a slytherin to stay at their home. Oh well she'd just have to get over it.

"Obviously," He agreed with Von and laughed. "They have such boring lives they have to put their noses into others."

He grinned at Von, and raised an eyebrow. "But of course. I have luck running in these veins."

He accepted her arm without any protests and followed her up the spiral staircase. Just where was she taking him? He wondered.

"Well that works for me." He replied with a roguish smile.

Von raised an eyebrow at the offer and shrugged. "It wasn't too bad. There were good places and not so good places. And don't you think you should ask him before inviting random and strange girls to your house?"

Vonali smirked to herself, yea that's going to go over well. She remembered the time she'd asked to go to Marc's. Her parents flipped out since he was a half blood. Granted now that her mother's secret was out who knows. " Once you find out if he'd allow it, I'll send an owl to my folks to find out my rotation this year."

She chuckled and smiled at him " Now the only question is if it's good or bad luck." Rolling her eyes at his smile she lightly smacked his arm. " Promise, you'll like our hiding spot." With a small skip she walked into a hallway. It was very silent, the only sound was the thudding of their shoes. About halfway down the hall she smirked at him and pulled open a door. " Here we are!" With a flourish she shipped in and spun in a circle. The room was already lit and the walls were covered in instruments.

With a flip of her wrist she pulled out the mini guitar and it grew in her hand. Her face was alight with pleasure at being back in her favorite spot, and for once she didn't mind the company. " Isn't it great?!"

Lothar thought it was funny that she was so concerned with what his father would think. Though, seeing as her parent's didn't really get along and kept sending her away, she probably had no idea that some parent's could be easy going. If anything his father was the coolest. Sure he had rules, but he was rather lax on those. And he always was trying to get Lothar to make friends, but not with just the "elite" like his grandmother was always trying to do.

"All right, I'll write and ask him if it's all right. Does that satisfy you?" He asked in a bemused manner. "Well I'm glad that you were able to handle it."

Lothar smiled widely at her next words. "Oh he will. He's always trying to push me to expand myself and make more friends. The only friend I have right now is my cousin, Louvenia." He admitted, feeling a bit weird telling a stranger about that. He hoped she didn't find it odd. "She lost her parents a few years ago, and my dad took her in. Turns out she's a lot like me, well..sort of. We get along pretty well when we're not competing for grades." he added with a laugh.

Lothar was amused at her quip, and shook his head, causing his hair to fall in his face. He brushed it back. "Well..I haven't had any bad luck so I'd say it's probably good."

He grinned at her when she smacked his arm. Why was it when girls got violent they seemed so much more fun? He smirked back at her and cocked his head to the side. "Well..you'll have to show me before I can make up my mind." He said with a laugh.

He followed her down the hallway, glancing around and taking in his surroundings. So this was the fifth floor. It seemed completely empty and silent for a floor that was supposed to be in use. He wondered why there were no classes in this area. Perhaps it was just a floor where the students could come when they didn't have other classes? It was rather interesting to get to hang out with an older student, they seemed to know more fun places to explore.

Lothar was amazed when she pushed in a door and showed off the room to him. It was enormous and filled with instruments of all kinds. This was definitely a cool place. Especially since he loved to play anything he could get his hands on. Well..try to play. He was really only good on the flute right now. He wanted to learn how to play guitar though. He was going to try and convince his father to get him a teacher over the summer.

"Yes it really is. I love this room." he turned around and was surprised when she pulled a miniature guitar out of a case and it grew to a much larger size in her hand. She played guitar? This day was getting better and better.

"I've been wanting to learn how to play guitar for awhile now, I'm going to see if I can convince my father to buy me one and some lessons for the summer break." he said shooting her an appreciative look. "I wonder, would you mind showing me some chords?"

He figured he could look around for a flute after she was finished showing him some chords. Then he could join her in playing.

Von watched his eyes light up when he saw her guitar. Smiling proudly she deftly ran through one set of scales. " Something like that?" With a chuckle she steps up to a stool and sits gently on it. With finesse she then runs through the scale faster and faster til her fingers seem to fly over the strings.

" How about this, I'll teach you Guitar in exchange for crashing at your place. What do you think?" She was beginning to think he really was good luck. She waited until he looked away and took another good look at him. He wasn't that bad looking and the blue in his hair added a bit of flare to his appearance.

Lothar watched her fingers closely as she ran through the scales. It didn't really look all that hard, but she probably had calluses on her fingers so the thin metal strings wouldn't cut into her. He had heard of people who played so much that their fingers bled.

"Have you ever played so much that your fingers bled?" he asked curiously as he sat down across from her. He watched with admiration as her fingers flew over the strings as she did the chords over and over. She had definitely been playing for awhile, but he could see she wasn't anywhere near a pro. He had seen pros and their fingers were at least ten times faster than hers.
"So how long have you been playing?" He asked cocking his head to the side.

He was rather pleased with her proposal. He imagined his father would rather like that as well. "I think that would be great idea." He said with a smile.
