That.... was... boring, to say the least, Sky thought, setting down her bag on one of the common room's couches. Muggle Studies ended just minutes ago and Sky couldn't wait to think about something else! All those kids in there talked so strangely about all the things Sky found to be as normal as day--telephones and the internet? She basically breathed those! Honestly! They make us out to be the weird ones! Now that was a funny thought!
Everything in the her world--the muggle world--felt so much more natural than the wizard one. Hopefully, over time, that feeling would lessen... but right now, every ghost that passed her or every spell bursting out of her wand felt so foreign. But this feeling was always mixed with a bit of excitement--everything was so flashy here! And Hogwarts was so Victorian-eske--her mother would be absolutely blossoming about all the architect and interior design. Sky gave a soft smile--oh yes, her parents would be having a field day here...
Just one look around the common room was enough of a reminder about how strange Hogwarts really was. There was a toad perched on one of the stairs! And it was perfectly natural, apparently! Cats, owls, toads, ferrets... Oh, and the candies! Sky was daft enough to try some jelly beans--as innocent and naive as she was--on the way to Hogwarts and she got some sort of strange combination that tasted a lot like vomit!
From her earlier glance, Sky saw that no one else was in the common room so she stretched her legs a bit and laid down on the couch, just looking up at the ceilings and some of the decorations on the wall. A nap sounds really nice right now... Sky longed to rest her eyes but she just didn't feel tired yet, so she sat back up and took another glance around the common room when her eyes landed on a black-speckled rat. "Hello there," she started, tilting her head a little bit. "I'm sorry, but I don't have any food to give you... Ah, wait a second!" She remembered a granola of kinds in her bag and fetched it out, taking a small bit of it and offering it towards the rat. "Hungry?"

Lothar was in a panic, and that rarely happened. Usually he acted all easy going and smooth, but with Sherlock missing and several of the Ravenclaw boys having snake familiars he was worried that his rat might have been eaten.
He threw his clothes out of their drawers, no Sherlock. He searched through his bed clothes and socks, still no Sherlock. He methodically searched through the sheets and blankets the other kids had stuffed in the corner of the room to get washed. Still no little spotted Sherlock. He was about to rip out his hair when he heard a voice come from the common room.
Who could that be? All the other Ravenclaw kids usually headed straight to the library the moment their classes got out. Lothar straightened his mussed up clothing and then stepped out of his room to see who it was and who they were talking to.
A wave of relief went through him when he caught sight of his rat sniffing around on the back of the couch. The little stinker apparently was trying to weasel some food out of the girl that was laying on the couch. He still hadn't seen her, but he could hear her voice. He walked up behind Sherlock and stared down at her. She still hadn't seen him as she had suddenly dove for her bag to search through it for something to give Sherlock.
Lothar found himself smiling. At least she hadn't freaked out when she had seen the rat. Most girls thought rats to be disgusting. He didn't want to frighten or startle her so he backed away silently and then re-entered walking more purposefully. "Well there you are you little stinker! I've been looking all over for you Sherlock. What are you doing out here? Oh, I see, you've made a new friend. Hello, I'm Lothar, what's your name?"
Lothar reached out one hand from behind the couch in her direction as he introduced himself.

Oh, how cute... Sky thought, watching the little rat twitch its nose--it's whiskers moving accordingly with it--as it inhaled the air at the sight of food. Reminds me of the little creatures my dad used to feed Quetzal... Sky mused, wondering where her giant yellow python was--hopefully he didn't manage to sneak into someone's covers again... that was never a good occasion--far too much shrieking for Sky's liking! I swear, some of these kids act more like a little girl that I do!
But before she could smile to herself, she heard some rustling behind her. A bit alarmed, she looked up. "Strange..." she mumbled, frowning a bit. She could've sworn she had heard something move behind her... Sky took a glance back at the rat, seeing that it had moved a bit closer to her (investigating the granola, probably!). "I'm not going to hurt you," she spoke softly to the creature, placing the granola on the ground.
Just as she did, Sky heard footsteps behind her. Moving slowly--as to not scare the rat--Sky looked up to see a first year Ravenclaw. Oh shoot, what's his name... Sky wracked her brain. Logan?--No... it was something I've ever heard off... Before she could say anything to the boy, he started--Little stinker? Sky frowned for a second before realizing he was talking to the rat. Oh, so that's what it was--Lothar... Sky thought, taking time to actually remember the name. "Oh--I hope you don't mind that I was feeding him," Sky stood up from her resting place on the couch and took his hand. Warm, she noticed.
"I'm Sky--and this must be Sherlock, then?" Sky started, truthfully much more interested in the rat than his owner. "He's quite cute, isn't he?--but I have to ask... Where's Watson?" She inquired with a laugh--having read herself many of the Sherlock Holmes stories. How could she resist?

Lothar was glad to see he hadn't scared her, though she had looked up in alarm for a moment before she spotted him. He listened to her speak softly to Sherlock as she placed some granola on the ground. He watched as Sherlock's whiskers's twitched and sniffed the air before he scurried down the back of the couch, across the arm and then leaped to the ground and started devouring the granola.
"No that's all right. A little bit won't hurt him." Lothar replied with a slight smile playing on his lips. He couldn't help but notice that the hair he had first thought to be black was actually dark indigo blue. He watched as it shimmered as she stood up from the couch and took his hand. It was rather cool to the touch, but not clammy. Which was a relief. Clammy hands gave him the willies.
"Nice to meet you Sky, and yes, that's Sherlock." He had the urge to touch her hair to see just how soft it was but fought against it. Sky would probably think him weird if he were to suddenly touch her hair.
Lothar frowned at her question. "I don't know about cute, I'd say he's more handsome. Watson must be off doctoring someone." He quipped with a smirk. "Actually, there is no Watson. I named him Sherlock because he was my favorite from the books."

As Lothar spoke, Sky couldn't help but be strangely self conscious of her hair--she even pushed a strand of it behind her ear for some reason!
"Oh, yes, I'm sorry. You're quite a dashing gent, aren't you?" Sky grinned, looking down as the rat chomped on some of the granola. "Your coat is the shiniest that I've seen, Detective--and I have seen quite a few in my day," Sky nodded, thinking, once again, about the many rats and mice sacrificed to Quetzalcoatl while growing up.
When Lothar admitted that there was no Watson, Sky shrugged. "Poor chap always gets left behind," She murmured--Watson was always a step behind, after all. Either that, or always cleaning up after Sherlock.
When Sky was about to respond to Lothar, she spotted a glimpse of yellow moving on the floor. "Quetzalcoatl, he's not a snack," Sky sighed, walking over to the large python and picking him up--the creature weighed a ton and was pretty hard to pick up nowadays since he got so fat over the summer. "This is Quetzalcoatl," Sky introduced, allowing the snake to slither around her arms and shoulders. "I'll tell him not to eat Sherlock," She promised, seeing the potential.... hazards, with having Quetzal and Sherlock in the same room.
Just as Quetzalcoatl settled himself, the clock chimed--and chirped--causing Sky to nearly jump out of her skin. "I still haven't gotten used to that," Sky laughed sheepishly, pointing to the flying critters originating from the clock.

Lothar watched longingly as Sky pushed some hair behind her ear. Gods, why did girls have to be such big teases? Though of course Sky hadn't done it intentionally because she had no clue what he had been thinking.
Lothar was a bit surprised to hear a her call Sherlock a gent. He held back a laugh as she continued speaking to Sherlock in praising tones. How was it girls could be so vastly different from one another?
He let out a laugh at her comment. "Yes so true. Poor Watson always gets left out."
Lothar noticed the white and yellow snake moving on the floor at about the same moment Sky did. He was relieved when she went over and picked it up before t could sneak up on Sherlock. Seeing Sherlock was done eating he went over and picked his rat up and place him in a safer spot on his shoulder.
"Nice name, he's a beautiful python." Lothar said appreciatively and walked over to pet the snake on the nose. "I think Sherlock would very much appreciate that. I'll try and fix his cage so he can't get out. I don't want him to end up inside Quetzacoatl's stomach."
Lothar flinched slightly when the clock chimed and chirped and was surprised to see that Sky had jumped so much. "It is rather loud. I wonder if we could find a spell to change the sound it makes."

"Thank you, I'm sure Quetzalcoatl loves the praise." Sky admitted, wearily watching as Lothar walked closer to pet her snake on the nose. In fact, she was almost holding her breath! Her python wasn't the most... amicable... or safest... of animals, generally! His rule was a bite first, get scolded later sort of attitude. But luckily, the whole thing went off without a hitch. Surprised, she glanced at Quetzalcoatl--ah... he's still focused on poor Sherlock, she shook her head, amused. "Truly Quetzal should be the one in the cage," She teased the snake, "Did you hear the commotion the other night? Quetzalcoatl decided to slither into one of the girl's bed.... Oh god--it was hilarious!" Sky was about to laugh when it occurred to her that Lothar might not be so amused, "It might seem cruel... but her face... Oh, I wish my camera worked here!" Honestly--these girls acted like they never have seen a snake before!
When Lothar commented about the clock, Sky tilted her head to the side. "How silly of me--that never even occurred to me. I just assumed I would get zapped or something for even touching that infernal contraption--but I do think... I think the Star Wars theme song would match the tense atmosphere always in this place--study study study!" Sky chanted, rolling her eyes. "Sometimes I'm afraid I'm breathing too loud!"
As she said that, Sky looked at Lothar and realized that his eyes weren't quite on her eyes. They were slightly... to the side. So maybe I wasn't insane earlier She thought, touching her hair again self consciously. Finally, she had to ask, "Is there something in my hair or something?"

Lothar grinned at Sky, scratching the snake gently on the nose. "Oh I bet, he looks as though he likes soaking it all up."
Lothar did notice the snake's eyes continued to focus on his Rat and smirked. "Oh yes, we don't want him eating poor Sherlock after all. Oh I did hear it. It was bloody brilliant." He said laughing remembering the high pitched shrieks that had woken up everyone in the Slytherin Dorm they had been so loud.
"I'm sorry I wasn't able to see that." He snickered softly. "I imagine she'll make sure to stay away from you from now on. Which probably isn't a bad thing. I hear she has itchy fingers." He confided.
Lothar grinned at Sky. She was rather silly, but sounded like she'd be loads of fun. Especially since she was actually complaining about all the studying. "Well..this is the Ravenclaw House, what did you expect?" He laughed.
"That's what they do here. Oh I know." He replied. "They do get on your nerves after awhile. Oh that would be brilliant! We should do that. I suppose we'll have to find the right spell to do that first though." He added ruefully.
"Umm no," He replied blushing slightly. "I just like it. I've never seen hair that color before." He added.

Sky was pleasantly amused when Lothar proved he wasn't some sort of horrible stickler. The last thing she wanted was to be scolded for "scaring some innocent damsel in distress." God. Guys ate that sort of thing up. Sky never knew what they were trying to prove--Oh, look at all these princely qualities I have! "She has itchy fingers?" Sky repeated, alarmed. "She is so not borrowing any of my clothes." The last thing Sky wanted was catching some sort of strange skin eating bacteria--I mean, sticky fingers? Really? Not to mention, Sky's clothes were expensive, she knew her parents wouldn't be happy with her if she ruined them.
"Well, I expected at least some breathing time," Sky retorted, pushing back her hair with her hand. "I like my fair share of studying but these guys--it's like they're trying to win a race." Sky watched Lothar as he spoke, leaning back on one of the chairs.
Oh? Sky glanced at the light color forming on Lothar's cheeks. How cute, she thought, a little smile on her face. "Thanks--it was the result of my hair stylist doing something dubious with henna." She admitted, feeling the need to touch her hair slightly.
Before she could say another word, the doors to the common room opened and a flood of Ravenclaws came rushing in. "Looks like it's silent time," She noted, glancing at the group before turning back to Lothar. "Maybe we could look for that spell sometime--God knows we need some relief," Sky commented, shifting her weight back to her feet before grabbing her bag. "Later."

Although Lothar had been brought up to be a gentleman he was something of a rebel and often liked to pull pranks or enjoy pranks others had pulled. He snorted at Sky's alarm. "I meant to say Sticky fingers. Meaning she likes to "borrow" things from people without them knowing. Probably a good idea though, who knows what she'd do to your clothes." He replied.
"I agree, though I have the fortune of having a particularly good memory. If I read it once I never forget it. I think the others are a bit annoyed that I have such a talent. I like my down time as well." He replied and took a seat on the couch, cupping a hand around Sherlock so he couldn't escape from his shoulder.
Lothar was a bit annoyed that she had noticed him blush but was surprised to hear how she had gotten such blue hair. "I gather you hadn't planned on getting blue hair then? It's quite becoming on you." he complimented her watching longingly as she touched her hair. Was it as soft as it looked?
Lothar sighed when the common room was flooded by a bunch of kids. Just when things had been getting interesting. Oh well, he'd just have to catch her another day when no one else was around. "Sounds like a splendid idea. Perhaps tomorrow after class? We could change it every week. I imagine no one would ever suspect us." He added in a much lower tone. "Yes, see you around Sky." Lothar replied and stood to his feet, watching her leave before he made his way to his dorm to put Sherlock safely away in his cage.
