THE PARADE

The Teufel Festival parade is a much-prized event that happens right at 10:00
PM,
just before the start of the fireworks nearby Anna District's pier. It's up to
you to decide what's in the parade, and what the floats are!

The format of this game is simple. Simply continue the line of thought from the
person above you and describe the parade. Each continuation can be as long as
you want, from a sentence to several paragraphs! Each post will also get you up
to a certain tier in the prizelist below, which you earn as you go...

The starting post:

At the beginning of the line were the traditional Teufel Town marching band, armed with their monochrome clothing and decorative instruments. Just behind them were the school bands, with different uniforms matched up in perfect lines whilst each represented school filed down the line. Confetti streamed behind them, and dancers followed with their baskets of flowers!

Each school dancer's outfit was brightly colored, competitively showing off their school spirit by sprinkling about flower petals while maintaining an air of elegance with their movements.

However, the most precious dancer moved at back. Her hair flung back and forth and her fingers curled slight for poise. She spun and glimpsed the enormous, grinning cartoon elephant behind her. Its eyes narrowed bright red and it hovered above a line of zookeepers. Two at front beared a red banner that requested donations. Their socks met their ankles and their gold belt buckles glistened. They smelled of leopards and flamingos and walruses. Hours of cleaning open habitats tanned them, and watching the glorious, colorful dancers, they seemed blank and unassuming. They realized they would soon return to caged animals and long hours.

Strategically placed, behind the zookeeper's march was a float covered in flowers.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 24, 2012 7:32 pm

The float itself was flowers upon flowers, since the floats were shaped like giant flowers, all colored with varying types of blossoms. There were relatively common flowers, such as baby's breath, and even more exotic flowers such as Bird's of Paradise.

Each large flower seemed to loom over the crowds, smiling with cartoon glee at all surrounding them as they slowly moved past.

The flower float was not just in the shape of a flower and covered in flowers but on the top of the float sitting on a tree trunk shaped chair was what could only be described as the fairy Queen Titania.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 24, 2012 7:42 pm

Sprouting from each large flower, protruding from the piles and piles of smaller, real flowers, were raised stages shaped to represent stamens. Atop each one was a precarious dancer dressed like a bumblebee, complete with shimmering wings and bouncing antennae. Thankfully, they were secured into the small stage with a circular guide rail. They waved not only to the crowd, but to the dancers and the beautiful woman atop the tree, Queen Titania.

Behind this spectacular float, spaced and timed perfectly, was a section of kick line dancers, arms linked and long legs flying up and down in time. A giant drum on each side kept the beat.

It was debatable whether or not the float and the dancers had planned it or not, but each kick line dancer work a sparkling outfit covered in sequins colored similarly to a Monarch butterfly.

Behind the line dancers came Teufel Town School's esteemed marching band playing, and of course marching to, Sousa. The brass player's instruments were so shiny, they glimmered in the sunlight.

Perhaps it was the marching band or perhaps it wasn't but there was a strange beat that didn't quite match Sousa that could be heard amongst it.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 24, 2012 8:28 pm

This unusual beat came from the group of children following closely behind the band- their eyes lit up as they carried around tiny toy instruments. Children that were, no doubt, chosen from the very crowd that surrounded the march. They laughed and danced and banged on plastic drums, carefree and- more than anything- happy. Behind them walked the stiltmen- towering above the parade in their pin-striped pants that had to be at least nine feet tall.

It seemed that the men on the stilts were helping throw about some of the confetti. It took quite a bit of effort on their parts, but the stilted men made it seem easy. Littered around them was bright confetti mixed with sparkling pieces of paper.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 24, 2012 8:39 pm

The paper very closely matched that of the float that followed slowly behind the stiltmen- covered in sparkles so bright some of the more sensitived-eyed onlookers had to look away. And on this sparkling masterpiece? A girl- no- a princess waved happily.

Girl scouts trailed behind the princess (none compared to her radiance. She smelled of papaya and fresh jasmine. She also donned the most precious pink gown--bejeweled with sapphire and topaz.). They marched in khaki and mint. Those with the most badges (Some bearing the most prestigious "Gamer" badge) led. They looked forward and swung their arms and stepped as if timed. The other girls glared at her, and she reddened and carried on.
