LEAF-RUSTLEMoody, unstable, fickle Leaf-rustle is in fact four seperate kin: she changes natures with the seasons, sliding easily from one persona to another. It is questionable whether this is out of choice or because of necessity. She is flighty and flirtatious in the spring, adventurous and stalwart in the summer, pensive and thin in the fall, and completely closed off and alien in the winter. It seems impossible for her to deviate from these alignments; perhaps this is because she has no set home, no range, nothing to hold her down.

PATIENCEPatience's claim to fame is his brilliantly-colored coat; it may be the best and most appealing thing about him. He can usually be found lazing about in the northern reaches of the swamp, swimming or eating apples and doing nothing else with his day. He is waiting -- and may wait forever -- for the perfect buck to come along and sweep him off of his feet.

MUDSPLATTER | STAIN Mudsplatter is the first buck to lend a helping hand, venture into the dark cave, or roust the caiman out from underneath a mangrove. He does this usually without speaking, preferring to communicate by nods and shrugs, and the occasional 'yes' or 'no' rumbled in his deep voice. Mudsplatter is not the brightest buck in the swamp, but he is one of the most genuine, and the most honest, if only because he is too transparent to launch any scheme that requires subtlety or ulterior motives.

FLOWER-EATERThe depth of Petal's personality is about as thin as the petals she eats: outgoing and a bit of a hedonist, Flower-eater is pretty but a little round through the flanks and hips, outgoing but shallow, and intelligent but only in a few subjects. She can name most of the flowers in the swamp and especially those that are good to eat, but subjects which do not interest her she must admit only meager knowledge in; her subjects of choice are food and bucks, and in that order.

TWILIGHTTwilight is extremely intelligent and extremely curious, and is nearly ruthless in her drive to attain knowledge. Risks that might stop other kimeti are ignored as long as the outcome is something new to learn or -- especially -- something that nobody else has found or discovered. If there is something to be found in the swamp, hinted at only in rumor or in stories told on moonless nights, Twilight will make it her business to find the bottom of it. She is an apt judge of character, except of her own. She might know better about the dangers of blind risk-taking if she stopped to think about it.

WOOD SPIDERpre-ascension form
Gentle, wise, and intelligent, the petite Wood Spider is an explorer and a collector of charms. She has extensive knowledge of the different medicinal and mystical properties of varied bones, herbs, and flowers, and combines them to lend kimeti their best aspects.
She was widely regarded as a bit of a loon -- friendly and good-natured but maybe a bit daft or gullible -- until one day she had a dream and woke up changed, ascended. Now she still wanders the swamp bestowing her charms and gifts upon those she deems needful or worthy. Wood Spider tends to bless mothers for fertility, strength, and compassion. She will not bless mushroom-influenced clutches.
She's aware she has a small menagerie of pets, but anything cute, furry, or gentle always attracts the mare. Except for Floater -- she just can't get rid of Floater.

LONGSTRIDE | 'YOU INSUFFERABLE, TESTOSTERONE-LADEN JACKASS' pre-ascension form
Longstride, at his core, is a survivalist and an unabashed spinner of tales, mostly featuring himself (though grounded in truth). Pulled away to travel unknown lands by something core to his very being, Longstride, blessed by the Motherfather, is the only kin who is unaffected by the Ache. In his eaglehound shape he has traveled all the known lands, and led the first expedition to find the Obelisks. But recently he has begun to drop from the public sphere; who knows what calls him now. Perhaps he has decided to stay on the beach with the Tidewalkers, or with his mate, Waterside...
Recently he has managed to overcome the last obstacle to his wandering nature and has attained the alternate form of a gryphon; he can wear this in addition to his eaglehound shape.
Longstride tends to bless for strength and endurance. He will not bless mushroom-influenced breedings.

SPARROWHAWKFound and rescued by Longstride as an infant, the tomboyish Sparrowhawk is an immensely practical doe with an odd playful streak. She adores practical jokes, but does not indulge in them often. She is usually somewhat solitary, more than capable of existing in the swamp on her own since Longstride imbued some of his knack for survival onto her.

LIZARDSKINLizardskin is cold and aloof most of the time, and mean and completely emotionless at his worst. He is also lazy and lethargic, stirring himself only for two things: to dine on his favorite meal of brightly-colored, mildly poisonous frogs (which are mildly hallucinogenic), or to spend time with his sister, Love is a Labor, to whom he is .. unnervingly close. Perhaps a bit too close.

TRUTH UNVEILEDQuestioning and abrupt, uptight and brutally honest, but with a secret, gooey center. Truth Unveiled was not so sure of the Motherfather's existance and was pretty vocal about it until his mother awakened into a Legendary. Now he seeks answers from any Legendary he can find.

HOPELESSHopeless is a well-meaning, good-natured buck who is possessed of a seriously self-deprecating sense of humor. If words coming from Hopeless's mouth are to be believed, he will never amount to anything and will go through life perpetually alone; these sound like dire truths indeed, until one catches the amused gleam in his eye, and the wry little quirk of his lips. Hopeless never gives up, despite his name.
If anyone happens to catch him at it, he is also an excellent dancer, and his broad-shouldered, lean frame is perfectly suited to it. Because of his general temperament, however, no one has ever been allowed to watch him dance.

ECLIPSEWere Eclipse to exist in our world, he would have lived in Victorian England, as a poet dying of consumption. Vain, emotional, flashy and intelligent, Eclipse is a poet, always looking for the best words or the most perfect turn of phrase. He will recite his poetry to anyone who listens; unfortunately, most of his poetry is of a particularly lovelorn bent. Eclipse is one of those who has loved and lost -- presumably, his lover disappeared into the swamp one night, never to return. The reality is perhaps much more dire (and may involve a hungry caiman).
However, this has not prevented Eclipse from having a series of flings to mend his once-broken heart, and he has left a string of children and grandchildren behind him. The does need only listen to his poetry and appear interested, and the foolish buck is hooked.
