『 ☁ Stubborn 』Kanon is very stubborn. Very, very stubborn. She won't admit it's her fault, and you'll get a grudging apology in reply if she does decide to take responsiblity. Kanon prefers to stick her own ideas and beliefs, rather accept someone else's opinion. On occasion, she'll even try to force her own opinions on others. She's reluctant to agree to ideals that conflict her own, launching herself in another debate about something pointless. Kanon is very reluctant to admit her faults, and chooses to become irritated at the person who proved her wrong instead. Of course, if it's a light-hearted argument or a slip of the foot, then Kanon apologizes quite freely and cheerfully at that, blaming her own clumsiness or ignorance. It can be rather hard to get along with her.
『 ☁ Carefree 』Free of care is the literal way to describe Kanon. She acts like a floating cloud, drifting from here to there without a single care in the world. Kanon honestly doesn't give a hoot about what will happen in the future, and does whatever she wants without regret or second thoughts. In fact, in a darker sense, she honestly doesn't care about what will happen to herself. If she'll be hurt, if she'll die, who cares? Kanon seems to lack any real ambition in life, going around in a carefree and friendly way and throwing caution to the winds. She treats everything with the thought, 'What do I have left to lose?' Her friendly attitude is cover for the emptiness she feels, since Kanon has lost heart to ever trust anyone ever again. Her carefree side is genuine - she really is free of care, not really worrying about what would happen to her.
『 ☁ Detached 』The one thing she's a bit more hesitant is personal relationships. On the surface, Kanon appears to be a social butterfly, with many friends, but even though she seems to tell everything to them, there are a great number of things people don't know about her. Kanon doesn't really take to close bonds with other people, and keeps everything at surface level. She rarely pushes anyone away openly, but has a hard time containing her disgust for people sometimes. The flawless mask she keeps up hardly ever slips. In reality, Kanon's fearful of bonds with people, and is frankly absolutely disgusted when people begin clinging to her. She doesn't consider anyone her friend, and her family is pretty much dead to her. The only thing she really trusts is her music, and the violin she plays and cherishes so dearly. Music really is the one thing that can actually get Kanon to warm up to you slightly, as she enjoys playing the piano or violin.
『 ☁ Aloof 』Despite the fact that Kanon's a living creature herself, she seems to hold a certain amount of hatred and disgust towards anything living, and enjoys "observing and recording the living's habits". However, she is never found like this - it would ruin her friends and everyone she knew. Instead, Kanon stays the cheerful and supposedly open girl everyone knows. She honestly prefers to be by herself, away from the hated living beings. Kanon can be considered an asocial - she lacks the motivation to form personal relationships, but it's not likely that she'll reveal this side of herself to you. There are times when Kanon wished there was a person who could understand her, but she hasn't found anyone so far. icecoffeeicecoffee♛ █ ❛ MAIN COURSE ─ history 」Well, we can't really start this story without talking about Kanon's grandparents. So let us travel back in time to France, where a duke by the name of Pierre L'Ouverture fell in love with a young British lady named Charlotte Baskerville. They got married, had a son, and generally things were good. However, Lady Charlotte died from pneumonia, and thus the duke took to drinking and gambling. He did not take good care of his son, leaving him to be tutored in a boarding school instead. Soon, one of the most respected families of Europe had turned into the poorest dukedom, and they were forced to give up nearly all of their property except their main estate. Where was Duke Pierre this entire time? Gambling away the rest of his money and spending half of it on alcohol. What an irony – he was still a duke, but the poorest one alive.
His son, Jacques L'Ouverture, fared better than he did. An excellent student, he learned just about everything there was to being a noble. From education of academics to learning the hunt and how to shoot a gun, he was always near the top of the class. He still loved his father to a certain extent, but he was glad when he inherited the dukedom and his father retired. From there, he started his own business. Although it was small, it was successful enough, and Jacques earned back some of the money his father gambled away. Here comes the next phase of Kanon's history. On a business trip to Japan, Jacques met a lovely lady by the name of Kaori Jikan. Only, she wasn't human, but actually a water sprite! As you can guess, she was Kanon's mother. So what happens? They get married, of course! Jacques didn't mind that he married a sprite. They move to a nice little place in America, where they had their daughter. Their daughter, you already know. And then, as it seems to be a tradition in their family, Kanon's mother dies in a car accident. That's right – the females tend to die before the males do.
Thankfully, the former duke Pierre seems to have snapped out of his little depression and offered to take care of the three-year-old girl for a while. So of course, father and grandfather tried raising little Kanon on their own. Now you can see why she's the way she is. With a grandfather that thinks fun is learning how to ride a horse and shoot a gun at the same time, and with a father who thinks the idea of a vacation is to travel around the world in your own ship, no girl can grow up normally in a household like that. Nevertheless, Kanon loved it. Her other grandfather, Watari Jikan, asked that she visit him in Japan, to learn more about the other side of the family. The two Frenchmen agreed, since they needed to get back to earning money and paying their debts.
So there goes poor little Kanon, shipped off to Japan, where she settled down rather nicely. Of course, she was rather sad about her friends and all (she was only nine years old), but it really couldn’t be helped. There, she received a normal education and calmed down – just a bit. Then, five years later, she returned to the States and attended high school there. Oh joy – she met her friends again! And as you can guess, they got into a load of mischief. After freshmen year, however, she discovered her powers as a half water sprite, and then she was carted off to a magic school in a magical land. Kidding, kidding. (By the way, her family doesn't think much of her craziness – they're pretty used to it, and it's kind of inherited.) Life for her has never been so interesting.
There is a reason why Kanon is so detached and turns to music instruments for comfort. However, that is a private story, not meant for this time, and Kanon has not ever told anyone else about this portion of her life. icecoffeeicecoffee♛ █ ❛ SIDE DISH ─ abilties 」iceiceiceV I O L I Niceiceice██████████
Kanon can be considered a professional musician, since her talent with both violin and piano is no exaggeration. She started music with violin, so it makes sense that the majority of her time goes to the string instrument. She started at the age of seven out of curiosity, developed a love for it, and became a concertmaster at the age of twelve. She actually plays in a real orchestra, but she doesn't join the traveling ones due to her education. Violin is her strong point, and she's not afraid to admit that she has talent with it.iceiceiceP I A N Oiceiceice██████████
While she is certainly good with a piano, her skills on it do not match her ability with a violin. Kanon loves the piano dearly, but her love of violin outmatches it. She only started piano after she became a concertmaster. However, she's been known to call the piano her first love, and she does treat it better than a lot of people she knows. Her favorite composer for the piano is obviously Chopin, and he's probably her number one idol. Though he's dead, of course. iceiceiceC O O K I N Giceiceice██████████
While Kanon may be graceful with her fingers, it's not wise to throw her into a kitchen. Mildly putting it, it's like placing a pyromaniac in a room of explosives. In other words, everything will burn to the ground. Literally. Once, when she was boiling water for noodles, the pot was burned dry of water and the grass cracked from the heat. Black scorch marks ruined the bottom of the pot. Needless to say, after a while, everyone learns to keep Kanon out of the kitchen. If she does wander in though, be prepared for explosion and destruction. icecoffeeicecoffee♛ █ ❛ DESSERT ─ extras 」『 ☁ 』Kanon's favorite food consist of pastries, especially tiramisu.
『 ☁ 』Her favorite drink is coffee - latte, mocha, cappuccino, espresso, you name it.
『 ☁ 』Kanon absolutely hates mushrooms, unfortunately.
『 ☁ 』Kanon owns a tabby cat named Mocha.
『 ☁ 』She's known for constantly wearing pigtails and carrying the occasional stuffed animal.
『 ☁ 』She carries around a messenger bag.
『 ☁ 』Kanon's weapon of choice is a CZ75 gun. Otherwise, she'll stick to the longbow.
『 ☁ 』Kanon can be a bit of a troublemaker and prankster at times.
『 ☁ 』She likes events, such as a circus or carnival, or even going to an amusement park.
『 ☁ 』Her past is a sensitive topic to be avoided if you're not close to her.
『 ☁ 』Be aware that if you are her friend, your relationship is most likely not sincere.
『 ☁ 』Getting involved romantically with Kanon calls for heartbreak if you do love her.
