❁ ◕ Ѧυȡitiɵɳs ◕
Okay, so to respect the fact that I have NO idea how Leo wanted to organize this, I'm only making a thread for the current high-up positions we need right now.
➸ Your audition must be of reasonable length. We are testing your writing skills.
➸ If you are auditioning for a Leader OR a deputy position, you must follow the challenge we give below in your post. You can manipulate existing characters or just make up your own for the sake of your version. Be as creative as you like, but don't be too unrealistic.
➸ If you are auditioning for a medicine cat position, you must follow the challenge we give below. You must express a good knowledge of herbs.
➸ The cat you audition with does not have to be a real cat nor the character who will receive the position if you win; it just needs to show off your skill at responding to situations.
➸ We are NOT judging based on experience in the guild/as an admin. You can be a brand new member or a veteran; we are judging based on your CURRENT writing skill and activity.

❁ ◕ Leader/Deputy Positions ◕
➸ Leaders and Deputies are required to be active. If they go inactive WITHOUT WARNING, we have the right to strip their character from them within 5 days. If they have to go inactive for a few weeks and they tell us, we will give their character to someone else to handle. When they return, we'll deliberate on whether they are still qualified for the position and decide from there.
➸ Leader positions require more responsibility, but both positions require the same amount of activity.
➸ Leaders also are given Crew status and are expected to moderate their Clan Roleplay as such. They are given the rights an admin has to confront someone about broken rules and are expected to keep their Clan active; if members start going inactive, it is the Leader's responsibility to prod them (as well as us).
Open Positions
Leaders NightClan (you will be adopting Foxstar- reddish-brown tabby tom with dark amber eyes)
Deputy -BreezeClan
Leader/Deputy Audition Theme
➸ You are suspicious that someone within your Clan is a traitor and has killed a missing warrior, Falconpine. StarClan is being mysterious on the matter but hints: "The answer lies in gilded wings." You must use clues as well as your own instincts to discover the traitor, as well as what his plans are. How will you find him? How will you confirm your suspicions? How will you confront him? And How will you punish him? You can interpret the warning however you want, but you must tie it in somehow.

❁ ◕ Medicine Cat + Apprentice Positions ◕
➸ Medicine Cats are required to be active (perhaps even moreso than leaders). If they go inactive WITHOUT WARNING, we have the right to strip their character from them within 5 days. If they have to go inactive for a few weeks and they tell us, we will give their character to someone else to handle. When they return, we'll deliberate on whether they are still qualified for the position and decide from there.
➸ Medicine cats require more responsibility, but both positions (med cat & med cat apprentice) require the same amount of activity.
➸ Medicine Cats also are given Crew status and are expected to moderate their Clan Roleplay as such. They are given the rights an admin has to confront someone about broken rules and are expected to keep their Clan active; if members start going inactive, it is the Leader's responsibility to prod them (as well as us). They are technically second-in-command ( the owner of the Leader being first-in-command).
➸ Obvious rule is obvious- medicine cats must have a good knowledge of herbs! Apprentices don't require any knowledge though. You're just littel bebbes ~<3
Open Positions
Medicine Cats BreezeClan (you will be adopting the NPC Wolfspirit- gray tom with green eyes)
Apprentices BreezeClan SeaClan NightClan
Med Cat Audition Theme
➸ This is for both apprentices and full med cats, seeing as you will all one day be med cats. There is a strange disease spreading through the Clan. Two warriors and an apprentice- Rainclaw, Icestone, and Berrypaw- have died from the disease, and countless others are falling ill. Even the leader has caught it. You need to gather your wits and your knowledge and work with your apprentice, Willowpaw, to try and figure out what the disease is and how to treat it. The symptoms are: intestinal discomfort, tight chest, anxiety, and high temperature. Which herbs should you use? How can you make sure nobody else gets infected? How will you teach your apprentice along the way?
When auditioning, please pick a Clan to have the setting in. You can audition for up to TWO Clans but you will only get one position.

Auditioning for: Breezeclan Deputy
Ok, I realise that this is ridiculously long and it's not the best audition piece, however I loved the idea too much to change it so I stuck with it. I had a lot of fun writing it mrgreen
Since we could interpret the prophecy however we wanted, I tried to take a darker approach and interpreted the prophecy in a much deeper manner. Influences drawn from the Berlin Wall and Prague Spring. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Characters Valiantstride: Tiger striped tabby tom, good natured and easygoing deputy of Breezeclan, a strict follower of the warrior code. The protagonist Twistedstar: Mackerel tabby tom, ruthless and power hungry leader of Breezeclan. The antagonist Thundercry: White she-cat, righteous, ambitious and hot-headed. The anti-villain Falconpine: Ginger tom, quiet and soft spoken. The hero Wolfspirit: Gray tom. The medicine cat
Backstory The previous noble leader of Breezeclan, Lightstar, just lost her ninth life, leaving her deputy Twistedshadow to step up as leader. Immediately after he received his nine lives, Twistedstar began a reign of terror upon Breezeclan, harshly punishing all those who opposed him. Desertion was not tolerated, and the ruthless leader punished opposers by killing them or imprisoning them in solitary confinement. The power hungry tom planned to wage war against the remaining three clans, wanting to expand Breezeclan territory so that they could thrive, but in turn threatening the peace between the four clans. Thus, Breezeclan began a dark chapter of history, where it is ruled under the iron paw of Twistedstar.
Prologue ”I willingly joined you, and I agreed with your cause...but not this way Thundercry! This is wrong!” The usually quiet and soft spoken tom protested, leaning back on his haunches as he gazed up at the white she-cat looming in front of him. The white she-cat’s eyes glittered with menace as she stepped forwards, forcing the ginger tom to back away. ”Falconpine, you know what the consequences were when you decided to side with us. There is no turning back, and no refusing.” Her claws unsheathed as she continued walking forwards slowly, backing the tom up against a tree. ”Please, Thundercry, I swear I won’t tell a soul! This...this isn’t you! This is making you no different from Twistedstar!” ”I am completely different from Twistedstar! Don’t you ever compare me to that fox-hearted piece of crowfood!” ”P-Please! NO!” The ginger tom yowled in terror as the white she-cat suddenly lunged at him, pinning him beneath her. Not wanting to injure his clanmate, the tom hesitated before swiping his claws against his attacker’s face, but the slight moment of hesitation on his part cost him dearly. He managed to scratch her on the cheek and slam her shoulder against the tree bark, but the she-cat fought ferociously and in no time had him overpowered. She pressed her paw against his throat, choking back his cries of terror, her eyes glittering menacingly in the moonlight. ”Your resolution was not enough, Falconpine. I made it clear when you first joined our cause; desertion will not be tolerated.” She bent down and sank her fangs into his throat, jerking her head back and tearing his throat out. Blood bubbled from the hole in his neck, his mouth opening and closing several times before he grew still, his frightened eyes still gazing sightlessly at his attacker. Thundercry spat the blood out of her mouth and dragged his body towards the border between Stormclan and Breezeclan, dumping his body into the brook and allowing it to flow downstream to be lost forever.
She would accomplish her goal of restoring Breezeclan, but deserters and traitors would not be tolerated.
Chapter 1 Valiantstride looked at the returning patrol expectantly, waiting for someone to give him an answer. When the patrol leader shook her head, Valiantstride pursed his lips and uttered an inward sigh. It had been three days since the mysterious disappearance of Falconpine. The deputy lifted his head and shifted his gaze to the sky, praying for an answer from a higher power. Something must have happened to the usually soft spoken ginger warrior, and although he was not the bravest or the strongest tom, Valiantstride knew that he would not be cowardly or stupid enough to desert his clan. He took a deep breath, more to give himself courage than to relax, before heading towards the leader’s den. ”Twistedstar.” He greeted his leader a little apprehensively, afraid of his short temper. When the tabby leader gave no sign of having heard him, the deputy cleared his throat and continued. ”The dawn patrol just returned, and they reported no sign of Falconpine.” At those words, the tabby leader snarled and lunged forwards, pressing his nose against Valiantstride’s. ”Then why are you still standing here? FIND him! I don’t care what it takes, if he ran away then I’m going to make minced crowfood of hm! That would serve as a fine example to the clan, don’t you think so?” Valiantstride forced himself not to flinch at his leader’s voice, holding his gaze without wavering. ”Yes, Twistedstar.” He replied, turning around to walk out of the leader’s den. At that moment, the medicine cat Wolfspirit trotted in, making a beeline for Twistedstar. ”Twistedstar, Starclan has spoken; it is a prophecy.” ”What is it? Anything to do with Breezeclan’s possible future? This clan’s rise to greatness?” ”Starclan’s message is shrouded in mystery as usual, but this is what I’ve been told: the answer lies in gilded wings.” ”Well? That’s it? Fat lot of good that is, is Starclan allergic to straight answers?” ”I believe Starclan wants us to figure out the true meaning by ourselves, Twistedstar.” ”Right then, Valiantstride, you can go solve riddles, that’s all you’re good for anyway. Me, I’ve got some warriors to train.” The tabby leader climbed to his paws and stepped out of his den, barking an order to the warriors for a sparring session, leaving Valiantstride behind. ”So...gilded wings? What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked the medicine cat, who shook his head in response, showing his cluelessness in the matter. ”I know as much as you Valiantstride, Starclan is never clear in these matters.” Nodding to the medicine cat, the tiger striped deputy headed out of the leader’s den, pondering about the strange celestial hint.
Gilded wings...since birds were the only creatures around who had wings, it would probably make sense to start with that. Day after day, Valiantstride relentlessly brought back birds for fresh kill whenever he could, and every time he would rummage through the bird’s feathers for clues. Birds were rarely caught in Breezeclan due to the terrain, and with the wood pigeons and the rare crow that he managed to catch once, every time he would sift through the feathers with his nose for any clues that might be hidden in the wings. He repeated this for days, but to no avail. He even tried climbing to an eagle’s nest to look for hints, since eagles were the only birds with tinted feathers, almost as if they were gilded with gold. Eagles were not easily found, and it took Valiantstride almost a week to locate one, built high up in one of the tallest trees in Breezeclan. The tiger striped deputy uttered a sigh to himself as he gazed up at the nest in the tall branches, as if he was willing it to drop in height. Of course the eagle’s nest did not heed his wishes, and Valiantstride leapt onto the tree trunk, latching his claws into the bark as he heaved himself up. Breezeclan cats were not known to be good climbers as there were few trees in their territory, and they were mostly known for their speed; Valiantstride was no exception. He lifted one front paw to heave himself up...
...When suddenly, the sight of a few strands of snagged fur caught his attention. Directly to his right, a small tuft of white fur was snagged in the rough bark. Valiantstride slowly lowered himself onto the ground, peering closer at the tuft of fur. And coming to think of it, around the tree trunk there was a very stale, very faint scent of blood. Valiantstride lowered his nose against the ground as he sniffed around to re-confirm his suspicions. Yes, he was right, the stale scent of blood was very faint but it was there. He peered closer to the tuft of white fur, trying to make sense of everything. White...the only cat in Breezeclan who had white fur like this was Thundercry. And the blood...it was possible that it could have been Falconpine’s, and probably the she-cat snagged her fur against eh bark when they were fighting. However, it was also possible for the blood to belong to a piece of prey that was killed on that spot. Was this what Starclan meant by the prophecy? “Gilded wings” implying an eagle’s nest? Valiantstride was confused, but since he had no material proof, he could not accuse anyone of murder yet.
Chapter 2 The meaning of starclan’s prophecy nagged at Valiantstride’s mind as he returned to camp. When he first heard Wolfspirit’s words, he had immediately assumed that “gilded” wings meant wings with a tinge of gold. Now that he delved deeper into the words, perhaps they could have another meaning? "Gilded” could mean masked by something else? In that case, deception was the first thing that came to his mind. He didn’t want to trust his own words, surely no Breezeclan warrior was being deceptive. To be on the safe side, Valiantstride started keeping an eye on all his clanmates, watching for any suspicious movement. Doing so made him feel dirty and disgusted at himself, after all what kind of deputy spied on his own clanmates? He had chosen not to tell Twistedstar about the small tuft of white fur he had found snagged on the tree bark, as it was inconclusive and he was afraid of what his ruthless leader would do. The tiger striped tom made himself comfortable on a patch of moss in an isolated part of camp, nibbling on his freshly caught rabbit as he kept his eyes and ears open for any suspicious activity. Throughout his whole meal, nothing interesting happened, and just when he was about to get up and call it a day, a snowy white pelt passed in front of him, only for the cat to walk up to a small group of cats, talking in hushed voices. White pelts among cats were rare, and in Breezeclan Thundercry was the only cat with white pelt. Valiantstride’s eyes narrowed slightly as he watched the small huddle of cats, his ears pricking as he tried to listen in on their conversation, but he was too far away and could only hear quiet murmurs. That was strange, he didn’t remember Thundercry being a particularly sociable cat. If he recalled right, Thundercry rarely joked and rarely acted in a friendly manner, and saying that she had friends in the clan would be an overstatement. Perhaps she was having a change of heart. However, as Valiantstride looked closer, the conversation seemed less and less like a social chat. His eyes narrowed slightly as he watched the white she-cat, hating himself for suspecting a member of his own clan...but as deputy of Breezeclan, this was his part of his job description: to obey his leader and do his work whether he liked it or not.
Over the next few days, Valiantstride kept a close eye on the white she-cat. It seemed strange to him that the she-cat of normally few words would suddenly choose to socialise with a particular group of cats, as well as that, none of their conversations seemed too serious social chatting. His suspicions for Thundercry grew, and his mind kept returning to the prophecy. Gilded wings...the more he thought about the idea that someone in the clan could be hiding something, the more uncomfortable he grew. Falconpine was missing and has not been proven dead, but the tuft of white fur plus the very stale scent of blood around the tree was making him look at Thundercry in a whole new different light. He wanted to find out what Thundercry was constantly discussing about with her huddle of cats, but he couldn’t creep closer without giving himself away.
A window of opportunity finally opened a few days later. It was moonhigh, and most of the cats were already preparing to rest for the night. Valiantstride was just about to head off into the Warrior’s Den and rest for the night, when out of the corner of his eye he glimpsed a white pelt pass by. Looking up in surprise, he narrowed his eyes as he watched Thundercry step out of the edge of camp, along with two other cats accompanying her. What would a she-cat have to do at moonhigh that requires the accompaniment of two others? Valiantstride followed silently a good distance away, careful to stay downwind so that he would not be detected.
Chapter 3 ”We need to act soon, he seems to be suspecting something.” He heard one of Thundercry’s companions meow in a hushed voice. ”Agreed, we can’t have him telling Twistedstar about this, otherwise our moons of planning would have gone to waste.” ”You have no need to worry; for our plan to succeed, Valiantstride must die, and that is only the first step towards our goal.” Hearing the three cats mention a plan to kill him, Valiantstride stumbled back in shock, unable to comprehend what he had just heard. Unfortunately his paw snapped a twig under his weight, alerting the three cats of his whereabouts. The three Breezeclan warriors snarled as they leapt in his direction, tackling him to the ground. Even though he was deputy and a good warrior, one tom was no match for three cats and he was overpowered in no time. ”Speaking of which, I didn’t know that the great and courageous Valliantstar was a sneaky little spy in disguise.” Thundercry’s hiss drpped with venom and unmasked disgust as she stood over the deputy, claws unsheathed as she prepare to slash his throat and end his life. ”Why though? I want to know why I’m so important to whatever plan it is you have!” He wasn’t afraid, and wasn’t begging for his life, but honestly he wanted to know exactly what role his death played in Thundercry’s little plot. ”For freedom, Valiantstride.” The she-cat’s claws stopped in mid-air at his question, and she sheathed her claws as she continued to advance towards the deputy. ”Breezeclan has suffered enough under the tyranny of Twistedstar. For there to be change, a new leader must rise. You, being Twistedstar’s personal lackey, of course wouldn’t understand.” Valiantstride looked confused at Thundercry’s accusation, ”What do you mean, personal lackey?” ”Don’t feign ignorance, Valiantstride. Why else would Twistedstar have chosen you? Because he favours you, that’s why, so don’t pretend to be all high and mighty because you’re deputy, or because you think you live up to your name. Every other cat in Breezeclan thinks of you as Twistedstar’s lackey.” ”But I’m not! I’m nothing like Twistedstar!” Valiantstride hissed furiously, struggling against the hold of Thundercry’s two companions. ”It was you, you were the one who killed Falconpine, weren’t you? What did he do to deserve death?” Thundercry’s gaze softened as she looked down on the incapacitated deputy, her expression a mixture of pity and disgust. ”Falconpine was one of the first to join us to fight against Twistedstar’s reign of terror, and he was assigned to kill you because we all knew that you thought highly of him. However, being the meek and useless tom that he was, he refused...and because he had such a weak resolve, and because we couldn’t risk our plan being leaked, he had to be killed to keep the secret safe.” ”Then what you’re doing is just like Twistedstar, he kills any opposers without a second thought! Falconpine saw clearly what was right and what was wrong, and he died because he refused to change his beliefs. More deaths aren’t going to solve anything, and Falconpine knew that, yet you killed him!” Valiantstride was beyond angry at such an innocent death, as it was evident in his bristling fur and flashing green eyes. With a final kick, he broke the hold of the two cats, but refrained from attacking Thundercry. The two cats were about to shove him to the ground again, but Thundercry shook her head lightly, indicating that they should let him go. She then turned back to Valiantstride and held his fuming gaze with her own calm ones. ”Valiantstride, always believing you’re so righteous like your name. It’s time for you to wake up from your dream, Valiantstride, Twistedstar has nine lives yet you only have one, continuing like this is going to achieve nothing. It’s cats like us that are the winners...we are the achievers, the ones who actually get things done.” ”You are no different from Twistedstar...If you are leader, Breezeclan would fall, just as it is right now with Twistedstar as leader!” Valiantstride snarled as he stepped up to Thundercry so that they were almost standing nose to nose. ”Say what you want, Valiantstride, it’s futile...a puppet like you can’t possibly lead us, Breezeclan would fall under a weak resolve such as yours. All we want is freedom from Twistedstar’s rule, and sacrifices have to be made for a victory. Falconpine was the first one, and you were going to be the second. Unless, of course...you decide to join us.” Behind Thundercry’s clan-loving facade, Valiantstride knew that he was being given a choice: join, or die. If he joined in their crusade, he would be rising against his leader’s tyranny, but breaking the warrior code he had so loyally followed all his life. If he chose not to side with the righteous rebels, he would be signing his own death certificate since he was next on their kill list. Either way, there was no winning or losing for him: there was only doing what he thought was right. ”Give me your answer by tomorrow moonhigh, Valiantstride, then we will truly see what kind of cat you really are.” Thundercry said, completely unfazed by the glares that Valiantstride sent at her. She leaned in slightly to speak into his ear, her voice lowering into a secretive whisper. ”From the moment we devoted ourselves to this cause, we were fully prepared on dying for its sake. Are you prepared to lay down your life for your beliefs?” Valiantstride didn’t react to Thundercry’s question, and he didn’t tear his steely gaze from her retreating back as her and her two companions left to head back to camp, leaving Valiantstride alone in the forest, pondering to himself about his decision.
Chapter 4 ”Twistedstar, a word please?” Valiantstride could hardly believe that here he was, standing in front of the leader’s den, asking to see Twistedstar the morning after his impromptu meeting with Thundercry. ”Valiantstride? I really hope it’s actual useful news you’re bringing, I’m not in a good mood today...” The self-righteous Valiantstride had never hated himself so much before. All his life he had been taught to never succumb to cowardice, to face death head on with a brave face, yet here he was, doing the exact opposite of his morals. He had spent his entire sleepless night musing on the situation, and when he had finally come to a decision, he had made his way straight to the leader’s den, asking to see Twistedstar. ”Falconpine is long dead...and I have found his killer.” Twistedstar looked up from his grooming, fixing his deputy with an intrigued gaze as he climbed to his paws and padded over to Valiantstride. If cats could grin, he would have had a wicked sneer smeared over his face right now. Valiantstride cleared his throat before speaking, more to convince himself that he was doing the right thing rather than to calm his nerves. ”It...It was Thundercry.” ”Thundercry? Huh, I always thought she was a loyal and brave warrior, seems that I was wrong then. How did you find out?” ”I...found her scent mixed with Falconpine’s blood, and she...she admitted to it.” Valiantstride did not want to give away the full details, and knowing that a painful punishment awaited Thundercry if he worsened her crimes any further, he decided to give away as little as possible. That, however, did not stop the sadistic gleam from leaping into Twistedstar’s eyes as he padded towards the entrance, his tail lifted high in the air. Valiantstride took it as a bad sign; Twistedstar enjoying himself was never a good thing. A shiver of horror ran down his spine as he watched his tabby leader yowl to the clan, calling for a clan meeting, knowing that there was no way the meeting would not end in bloodshed.
When faced with the choice of either obeying the warrior code and telling Twistedstar the truth or joining in the rebel’s cause, Valiantstride was torn between the two. On one hand, his warrior side told him to never break the warrior code, and that meant not disobeying his leader. On the other hand, his righteous and clan-loving side told him to side with the rebels and fight for their freedom. With Twistedstar as leader, the needless bloodshed would continue; however, with Thundercry among the rebels, he knew that Breezeclan would be no different even if Twistedstar was overthrown. After much hesitation, he reluctantly chose to obey the warrior code and tell Twistedstar of his findings. Righteousness or not, he was still the deputy of Breezeclan and it was his duty to serve his clan leader. Whether he agreed with Twistedstar or not, the word of the clan leader was the warrior code as he was taught when he was a young kit, and to plot behind his leader’s back would be the worst form of treachery he could commit. Right now, his clanmates fighting for freedom were put onto the balance with obeying the warrior code...and with a heart heavy as stone, Valiantstride had chosen the latter: the ancient and absolute warrior code
”Let all cats old enough to catch their prey gather beneath the High Branch for a clan meeting.” Twistedstar yowled to the whole clan, and Valiantstride watched with a dull gaze as cats arranged themselves into position. He could make out Thundercry’s snowy pelt amongst the crowd, her judgemental gaze locking with his, and he did not doubt that she knew perfectly well what was going on. ”Valiantstride here has told me the identity of Falconpine’s murderer. Yes, you heard me right: murderer. A member of our own clan has been murdered by a fellow warrior...do we tolerate murderers in our own clan? The great Breezeclan? NO!” Twistedstar’s claim was supported by yowls of agreement, some reluctantly as though they were only chiming in because they did not want to be caught staying silent, some bellowing their lungs out as they showed their blind faith in their leader. Twistedstar may be a ruthless tyrant of a leader, but he was not without supporters. ”Valiantstride tells me that Falconpine’s heartless murderer was Thundercry! What should we do with this black-blooded traitor?” ”Kill her!” “Put her in solitary confinement for the rest of her life!” “Claw her eyes out!” “Starve her to death!” Twistedstar allowed these jeers to ring out for a few moments, watching menacingly as cats around Thundercry started to draw away, forming a perfect circle around her. Thundercry, however, remained passive and nonchalant as she stared up at Twistedstar calmly and without emotion in her eyes. ”Let the murderer step forward!” Twistedstar commanded and Thundercry obeyed, stepping forwards as if she was being called to mentor an apprentice rather than facing her death sentence. Valiantstride couldn’t help but admire her courage; not many cats can face a possibly painful death with absolutely no fear like her. ”What do you have to say for yourself, traitor?” The jeers piped up again, and Thundercry waited patiently for them to die down until she spoke. ”Because his resolve and his heart were weak. We may have failed this time, but our will still burns brightly...and our spirit will never die.” That was definitely not the response Twistedstar was expecting. He was hoping for the she-cat to beg for her mercy, or to sob with fear as she admitted to her crimes, but definitely not talking about resolve and hearts all of a sudden. Sensing the hesitation in his pause, Thundercry used this moment to continue her speech. Her glance flickered towards Valiantstride and their eyes met for a split second, until Valiantstride broke the stare and shifted his gaze down to his paws. ”Breezeclan is doomed from the moment you stepped up as leader, Twistedstar. I fight for a higher cause, for our freedom...Falconpine swore to fight for the greater good, but in the end he betrayed us. All I did was to rid the clan of a traitorous coward just as you would have done, isn’t that right? Oh great Twistedstar?” She asked the tabby leader with a sneer on her face, before turning to the rest of the clan. ”I have always been, and still am, a loyal warrior of Breezeclan, and you all know that the clan is doomed unless it is rid of Twistedstar as leader. Even if the righteous and courageous Valiantstride steps up as leader, the clan will fare no better. You all saw with your own eyes today, he is just Twistedstar’s lackey, obeying his every word! Breezeclan cannot have such a mindless fool as the next leader, which is why we have to take matters into our own paws!” The whole clan remained in shocked silence after her speech. Some looked horrified, some looked sympathetic and some looked terrified. Valiantstride could not bring himself to meet Thundercry’s eyes, while she gazed back with an almost pitying expression, as if she was pitying him for his lack of self respect, resolve and pride. ”Cease your mewling Thundercry, I’m already tired of listening to your prattling. Kill her, Valiantstride, and don’t be afraid to make it slow and painful.” Valiantstride looked up to his leader in horror, of all the punishments he had been expecting for her, he did not expect himself to be her executioner. He had never taken another cat’s life before, and the warrior code taught him that he should fight for honour instead of aiming for the kill. His horror-stricken look was returned by a malicious gleam in his leader’s eyes, obviously the leader was more interested in the upcoming execution than Thundercry’s rebellion. ”Now, Valiantstride, before I have to drag your sorry hide out.” Twistedstar hissed when the deputy didn’t budge from his spot, and hearing his leader’s words Valiantstride stepped forwards hesitantly. A small, knowing smile played on Thundercry’s calm features, in stark contrast to the regretful expression that Valiantstride bore. ”From the moment I swore to rid Breezeclan of its stains, no matter how low I have to stoop to, I’ve been prepared to die any time. I was ready to lay my life down at my paws for what I believe in, and now that I’ve said what I had to, I can die without regrets as the flame of hope has been lit.” Thundercry’s voice rang out through the clan, and her calm gaze was met with a mixture of sorrow, pity, sympathy...but most of all, hope. ” I join Starclan as a hero as I did what was right...can you say the same, Valiantstride?” She lowered her volume so that only Valiantstride could hear her, smirking when he stayed silent and fixed his gaze stubbornly at his own paws. ”I expected as much. I win this battle, Valiantstride, while you must live out the rest of your life ridden with guilt, knowing that you were a coward and weren’t brave enough to fight for your own freedom.” Valiantstride’s claws dug into the earth as he slowly brought his gaze up to meet Thundercry’s triumphant gaze, his eyes ridden with guilt and sorrow. ”I’m sorry Twistedstar...I can’t.” His voice cracked in the end as he stepped back, his tail drooping. ”You spineless, useless coward, Valiantstride! And to think I chose you as deputy because I saw more in you!” Twistedstar snarled as he leapt down from the High Branch, regarding Thundercry with a malicious sneer before swiping his claws across her face, knocking her over and pinning her down with his larger weight. Thundercry did not struggle, rather a peaceful expression cloaked her features as she awaited her inevitable, but honourable death. ”This is how a real leader deals with rebels.” He hissed before sinking his fangs deep into her neck, drawing rivers of blood. His head jerked back violently with Thundercry’s throat in his mouth, his jaws dripping with blood, and the white she-cat’s body lying limply on the ground. Spitting Thundercry’s throat at Valiantstride’s paws, Twistedstar shot the deputy a mocking glance before turning to the rest of Breezeclan, his tail held erect in the air. ”Listen up, you spineless fools. Breezeclan does not tolerate cowards and wrong doers kindly, but least of all, it does not tolerate traitors. Let Thundercry here serve as an example of what happens to opposers! The next time I find someone who plots against me, I will humiliate and make them beg for their deaths. AM I UNDERSTOOD?” His yowl earned him frightened and hesitant nods from the clan, and he nodded in satisfaction. ”You two, take this piece of crowfood somewhere else so I don’t have to lay eyes on her ever again. I want every warrior paired for a sparring session by sun high. Valiantstride, you organise the patrols. Everyone else, dismissed.” Twistedstar didn’t spare another look at Valiantstride as he headed off to oversee the spars and the clan cats began to disperse, leaving Valiantstride standing forlornly by himself, a deputy who shamed himself by choosing the warrior code over his own clanmate and the clan’s freedom..
Epilogue ”NO!” Valiantstride yowled in horror as he snapped his head up, jerking himself out of his recurring nightmare. Every night, he found himself surrounded by a ring of fire, the flames creeping closer and licking at his pelt. His limbs frozen, Valiantstride was rooted in place, a prisoner in the ring of fire. Outside the ring of fire, his clanmates were being ripped and torn apart in the most gruesome of ways, invisible tiger-sized claws raking through their frail bodies mercilessly. The bodies piled up rapidly, his clanmates’ sightless eyes staring eerily back at him. Blood flowed down the pile of bodies in rivers, reaching his paws through the fire and soaking his paws red. As much as he wanted to step back and avoid the horrifying crimson liquid, his limbs locked into place. When no more clanmates were left, Thundercry appeared from the distance and started walking towards him. Terrible gashes ripped into her sides and blood ran thickly down her paws in rivulets, but she seemed not to notice. Eventually when her body was so completely torn apart that muscle was starting to show through, her body began rotting and decomposing rapidly, maggots festering and crawling out of her eyes, ears and mouth. Still the she-cat kept on walking, seemingly unable to feel any of the trauma wrecked upon her body. She walked through the ring of fire, completely unfazed, and opened her mouth to speak...instead of her voice, however, she spoke with Twistedstar’s voice. ”You did this, Valiantstar, you let ruin befall our clan! YOU did this! You CHOSE this!” As Thundercry stepped closer, Valiantstar could smell the decay and rotting flesh on her, making him want to gag in disgust. Her maw opened to reveal rows upon rows of serrated teeth, ready to clamp onto his face, and Valiantsride drew his head back with a yowl of terror...
Ever since the death of Thundercry, this horrific dream has haunted Valiantstride every single night. He often thought back to Starclan’s prophecy “the answer lies in gilded wings”. At first he had thought that by “gilded wings”, Starclan merely meant Thundercry’s facade and was warning him of the merciless killer behind her act, but now he realised that Starclan meant more. By “wings”, Starclan meant Breezeclan’s freedom, and cause that Thundercry was fighting for. He figured that Starclan was trying to tell him about Thundercry’s double facade with the word “gilded”: behind the brave warrior that other cats saw, she seemed to mercilessly kill all opposers, but behind that, she was a true warrior who fought for her clan’s freedom. That was what Starclan meant by “gilded wings”, that someone was fighting hard for the clan’s freedom, someone who was not afraid to throw away her honour by appearing to be what she was not. In the end, she had given her life to light the flame of rebellion and to ignite Breezeclan’s will to fight for their freedom. Falconpine, unwilling to commit a murder which he thought was wrong, had stood by what he thought was right and gave his life for it. Valiantstride had chosen the warrior code of obeying his leader rather than his clanmates as he saw the wrongs in Thundercry’s ways, but in turn had shamed himself for compromising, as well as losing the respect and trust of his clanmates by being viewed as Twistedstar’s mindless lackey.
By killing Thundercry, Twistedstar had won in his battle against Breezeclan traitors. Thundercry and Falconpine had both earned the respects of their clanmates after their deaths. In a way, they had both achieved what they had been striving for; in a rebellion, the most important thing was not the result, but for someone to have the courage to step forward. Everyone had won in their respective ways, but Valiantstride had lost.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Since in Warriors there was always a definite "right" and "wrong", I wanted to put the deputy in a situation where he was forced to choose to be loyal to either his leader or his clanmates. There never seem to be any gray characters in Warriors so I tried my best to make Thundercry ambiguous. There is no right or wrong in her actions, it all depends on your personal views. Hence, whether Valiantstride did the right thing or not, it's up to you.

Auditioning for: NightClan Medicine Cat Apprentice.
Okay! Well, I know this story is really stupid and its kind of a quick write up since I didn't really have enough time... >.<
Well, Anyway, Moving on to the challenge:
Challenge: ➸ Medicine Cats are required to be active (perhaps even moreso than leaders). If they go inactive WITHOUT WARNING, we have the right to strip their character from them within 5 days. If they have to go inactive for a few weeks and they tell us, we will give their character to someone else to handle. When they return, we'll deliberate on whether they are still qualified for the position and decide from there. Response: Nowadays I have become especially active. I am on gaia for at least an hour a day if not more. I believe this requires as active due to busy schedule.
➸ Medicine cats require more responsibility, but both positions (med cat & med cat apprentice) require the same amount of activity. Response: As I am going for the apprentice duty, I will try my best to post regularly.
Response: Well, As of now, I've been looking for things to help out in and to do. I'm always here if anyone needs anything. Although, I'm not really sure what to do atm, but I'm sure I'll figure it out as I start rping and time progresses... >.<
➸ Obvious rule is obvious- medicine cats must have a good knowledge of herbs! Apprentices don't require any knowledge though. You're just littel bebbes ~<3 Response: Actually, herbal treatment kind of runs through the family, so I guess you can say I know quite a bit about it... }xD But thats not the point, as an apprentice, I will be willing to learn from my mentor! }>) ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Characters:
Snowstar ~ Leader (Suffering) SilverFang ~ Deputy (Messenger) Shadowfur ~ Warrior (Suffering) NightClaw ~ Medicine Cat (Searching) Willowpaw ~ Medicine Cat Apprentice (Helping)
Background: Nightclan has undergone and incredibly fatal and violent disease. Rainclaw, Icestone, and Berrypaw were the first to fall due to the disease. Many other warriors have caught the disease but the most fatal is Shadowfur’s. There are few who have not caught the disease and one of them is the clan deputy, Silverfang. Silverfang plays an important role for the medicine cat, for she is able to check up on the leaders health and inform Nightclaw while she is preparing herbs for a cure. Willowpaw is the one recording Shadowfur’s symptoms and anything else that might help them find a cure. Will Nightclaw find a cure in time?
Prologue: Darkness. That’s all I see now. Nothing but darkness. The reality of it all has driven me insane. I am unsure of what more I can do for my clan. As I look around me, I see nothingness. Bones and Flesh is rotting. Is this it? Is this the end for me? I keep telling myself that I would be saved, that I would not die. Willowpaw constantly encourages me on. I thank her for her kindness, for her mercy. For now, I’ve seen nothing but Nightmares. This constant pain in my body, my blood boils in anger. Why have I become so weak? Perhaps no cure is to be found. I hear a sudden rustling noise, the sound of pawsteps on hard ground. I look through slits to see Nightclaw nudging a large leaf forward. She urges me to drink. Is this it? Is this the cure? As I slowly lower my tongue into the thick liquid like substance, I find a sort of peace. Starclan has been merciful. I have been saved. I am home.
Begin: Nightclaw blinks awake as her apprentice nudges her side gently. “What is it?” The dark furred medicine cat says and she stretches, her muscles awakening. Her Amber eyes widen as she hears a yowl from outside her den. She looks to the entrance of her den as she gets up. Slowly, she pads forward and enters the dawning sun. Light flickers into her eyes and hits her dark tabby colored fur. “What has-” Her sentence breaks off mid way as she sees the bodies of her fellow warriors on the ground. It was Rainclaw, Icestone, and Berrypaw. The three who had shown odd behavior. Berrypaw was the only one who admitted to not feeling well and had stayed in the den. As for the two warriors, well, they were arrogant and refused to stay in camp. Nightclaw sighed lightly, and ordered the warriors surrounding the bodies to keep one cat tail lengths distance. Many grew upset at this and chose not to follow orders. Nightclaw turned her head as she was called by her apprentice. It was Shadowfur. He had not been feeling well and had shown many signs of anxiety. He also had not been eating very well. Nightclaw guided the warrior to her den and lay him down in one of the nests. “Willowpaw, Look after him for me. Tell me anything he says or does. I will return shortly.” And with that, the dark furred warrior padded off into the forest. She couldn’t but let her thoughts drift to the illness. There was something very strange about it. As she looked for herbs she remembered the symptoms Berrypaw had been feeling. Chamomile might help. She thought to herself as she picked up the tiny white colored flower, remembering the weakness Berrypaw had felt during her illness. As the medicine cat went on rooting out the tiny white flower, the scent of lavender caught her nose. She turned and after a couple of paces, found the small flowering purple plant that is known to cure fever. Nightclaw picked bunches full of these two and returned to camp. She left them to Willowpaw, after all, they had gone over how to cure fevers several times. The dark tabby returned to the forest to look for Thyme, a herb known to cure unease and anxiety. The medicine cat had ventured far and deep into their territory looking for the herb. When she finally found it, close to the border of Stormclan, the she cat felt the weariness of her paws. It was then that she scented the minty scent of Peppermint. Nightclaw shook her head, thinking she was imagining things, because although Peppermint was great for soothing the mind, it was a rarity. Curious, Nightclaw ventured across the border until she finally found the small batch of the minty leaves. Pulling as many as she could, she carried the Peppermint and Thyme back to camp. By the time Nightclaw returned, the sun was setting and many of the warriors were setting out patrols. Nightclan was known to thrive in the night and the warriors had stayed true to the name. The dark tabby returned to the medicine cat den to find her apprentice trying to calm Shadowfur down. “What’s going on?” She asked as her apprentice tried to get Shadowfur to stay in his nest. “Shadowfur! You’ve got to calm down! Your sick!” Her apprentice had an incredibly worried look on her face. Nightclaw stepped forward and glared down at Shadowfur. “Sit.” Was the only thing she said and the warrior flattened his ears and reluctantly obeyed. Gathering the herbs she had bought from the forest, Nightclaw instantly set to work. Willowpaw had given the warrior poppy seeds, water and a bit of honey to soothe his coughing throat. Nightclaw listened as her apprentice told her of what Shadowfur had said and did while she was away. She also explained the nightmares that the warrior had been having during his sleep. Using Thyme and Peppermint, Nightclaw was able to cure a bit of the anxiety Shadowfur had been feeling and had helped him get to sleep as dawn arrived. As the days passed by and the week drawled on, many more cats had died and quite a few were stuck with fever. Shadowfur was one of those who had survived for so long. Finally, Nightclaw used the last bit of everything she had, including hope. In a giant leaf, she mixed honey with Tansy to stop the coughing and chest pains. Luckily, this mixture had helped stopped much of the coughing among her fellow warriors. Using Thyme, Catmint, and Peppermint, She was able to calm many of the cats down from their series of nightmares due to anxiety. Despite the fact that her treatments were working, she had not found a complete cure for the disease. Then, one night, her apprentice brought her a small branch from a bush containing dark green spiky leaves and berries that were purple in color. The two worked the night to create a mixture that the sick cats will easily be able to take. Crushing hundreds of the berries in a giant leaf and adding a bit of honey to make the mixture more like fluid. The two medicine cats brought this mixture to the sick cats along with the herbs previously used. Thanks to Starclan, within a couple of days the sick cats were well again and were back to their usual selves. Towards the end of the month, Nightclaw asked her apprentice to show her the bush where she had gotten the branches. When Willowpaw showed Nightclaw the small bush where she had gotten the berries, the medicine cat recognized them immediately. They were Juniper Berries. The Dark Tabby mumbled to herself about not remembering and forgetting so easily. Juniper Berries could soothe bellyaches, give strength, and help with trouble breathing. How could she have forgotten? Regardless, Nightclaw was able to find a cure with her apprentice and save her warriors and her leader.

xxxx Audition for BREEZECLAN Medicine Cat Apprenticeindent There is a strange disease spreading through the Clan. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Willowpaw ⇨ Medicine Cat Apprentice Wolfspirit ⇨ Medicine Cat ⇗ filled with stress ⇉ Proud Berrypaw ⇨ A normally bubbly apprentice. Willowpaw's close friend ⇗ sick ⇗ symptom ⇉ anxiety. Rainclaw ⇨ Wolfspirit's kithood friend ⇗ sick ⇗ symptom ⇉ tight chest. Icestone ⇨ Berrypaw's best friend ⇗ sick ⇗ symptom ⇉ high temperature. Sandwave ⇨ Loyal Breezeclan warrior. Galestar ⇨ Breezeclan Leader ⇗ sick ⇗ lots of the symptoms. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇indent Willowpaw sat down at Wolfspirit's side as they watched the clan silently. To many onlookers it would seem as though the two were waiting for something. What were they waiting for? Willowpaw herself didn't know. Wolfspirit had woken up halfway through the night and, after waking Willowpaw from her pleasant sleep assigned her to organizing herbs. The pretty apprentice looked at her mentor with tired eyes. "Wolfspirit?" Just as she had formed the words to ask the gray tom what was going on when a patrol returned and Wolfspirit stood. Willowpaw tilted her head curiously, they had been waiting for a patrol to return? The leader of the patrol stumbled forward. "Rainclaw?" Wolfspirit said questioningly. "Wolfspirit! Rainclaw says his chest feels funny." Berrypaw mumbled anxiously. "Icestone don't look to good either." She said worriedly looking over to her best friend. "Alright. Let's go into my den." Wolfspirit said calmly, leading the three into the medicine cat's den leaving Willowpaw sitting there, confused. What was going on? The young apprentice finally stood up and padded into the den. "- And all of a sudden I had this tight feeling in my chest" Rainclaw was saying. "Is he gonna be okay? What about Icestone?!" Berrypaw wailed. Wolfspirit cast a glance to Willowpaw before turning to his herbs. With a nod Willowpaw got some poppy seeds and placed them in front of her fellow apprentice. "These will help you relax." She meowed encouragingly, watching as Berrypaw licked up the seeds. "Come here to this nest and lay down." Willowpaw directed. "There you go. Close your eyes." As the apprentice obeyed, Willowpaw looked to Wolfspirit again. "Willowpaw. Get some Borage leaves. We need to bring down Icestone's temperature." Willowpaw nodded and began to rummage through their storage, in awe of her mentor. He could keep calm in any situation. How he could do that was beyond her. She felt like her insides would explode with worry and questions. Maybe Starclan had spoken with him already. Yeah. She came to the conclusion that the reason for Wolfspirit's calm nature was the fact that he had already gotten some sort of message from Starclan and he had no reason to worry because there would be nothing more he could do. Willowpaw's eyes sparked when she found the borage leaves. Picking up some leaves she padded to Icestone while Wolfspirit was busy with diagnosing Rainclaw. "Here eat these." She meowed, setting the leaves down in front of the warrior.
▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇
indent Willowpaw bounded back into Breezeclan's camp, herbs in her jaws. Her hunt for herbs had been succesfull. Wolfspirit had been busy so she had gone out herb hunting on her own. It just couldn't wait. They were running short and had to find some before they completely ran out of stock. "Willowpaw!" A scared Berrypaw meowed. Willowpaw looked to her friend and gasped at the sight before her. Berrypaw, Rainclaw and Icestone were all surrounded by death berries. "Don't eat those!" The apprentice yowled and, dropping the herbs she raced forward and began to sweep the berries away. "It's no use Willowpaw. I've felt my parents in Starclan calling me." "NO!" She wailed and continued sweeping. "Willowpaw. Don't bother." Icestone joined in with Rainclaw. Willowpaw shook her head. "WOLFSPIRIT!" She howled for help. She raced away to get some yarrow so they could throw up any berries they had swallowed though they shouldn't have. Warriors knew to not touch shiny berries. As she returned with the yarrow she dropped the herbs again. Berrypaw was stuffing her face with berries. "BERRYPAW!" Willowpaw shouted and tackled her friend. Icestone hissed and began to poke Willowpaw. "Willowpaw... Willowpaw... WILLOWPAW." A distant voice said as Icestone kept poking her. It was weird, it didn't sound like the warrior. It sounded like... Wolfspirit.
indent Hazel eyes shot open and her eyes were met with dark green ones. "Willowpaw..." He murmured soothingly. Willowpaw whimpered and scrambled to her paws. "Berrypaw. Death berries." She said, trying to get past her mentor. "Berrypaw is sleeping. Relaxed thanks to you. And we don't have death berries here." He meowed trying to push his apprentice back to her nest. "Rainclaw... Icestone. THEY'RE DYING!" She wailed silently, hissing at her mentor and shoving past him. She heard Wolfspirit huff behind her. He seemed to think that they had treated the three well and that they were getting better. Willowpaw shook her head. Death berries meant just as they were called. She was convinced that Starclan was telling them to not bother with Rainclaw, Icestone and Berrypaw. That they were going to die no matter what they did.
▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇
indent Willowpaw sat there and watched her mentor begin to grow crazy trying to help the three cats. The young she-cat shook her head but left her mentor to his own devices. He didn't seem to care about anything else. Or anyone else at that. Others were falling ill and he was obsessed with helping his long time friend; Rainclaw. Please make his death painless. She prayed silently. She wasn't sure how well Wolfspirit would handle watching Rainclaw die painfully. "Wolfspirit!" Sandwave raced in, skidding to a halt in front of Willowpaw. "He's busy. What's wrong?" "Galestar! He's sick!" The pretty warrior wailed, clearly worried. Willowpaw gasped and turned tail and raced to her mentor. Wolfspirit Galestar is---" "Shut it!" He interrupted her. With a hiss of annoyance she turned and picked up some herbs: Borage, Poppy seeds, yarrow just in case (her dream was still haunting her). She shook her head and raced to Galestar's den. "Galestar don't worry. I'm here." She said, setting down her herbs and watching Galestar pace around; seemingly worried about something none of them could see. "They're coming!" He meowed as he looked at her with wide worried eyes. She sighed and shook her head. Picking up thyme she padded to him. "Here" She meowed calmly. She finally understood Wolfspirit's calmness. It wasn't because Starclan had told him things. It was because you were the medicine cat. Everyone looked to you to be calm and to reassure others because you knew sickness. You had no choice but to be calm. Galestar nodded and took the thyme, laying down in his nest he looked at her. "They're coming you know." He said in a matter-of-fact tone of voice. Willowpaw sighed and decided to humor her leader as she determined what was wrong. "Who's coming hmm?" "Our enemies." He huffed impatiently. Eyes rolled. Of course. She thought and nodded in apology. "Sorry. Of course Galestar." "We need to be careful what we wish for." He murmured, licking up the poppy seeds she lay down in front of him. "I know Galestar. Things aren't always what they seem to be." "Be... careful what you wish for." The tom meowed sleepily. Willowpaw sighed. Their leader had once been so handsome; it was no wonder that Frostclaw had fallen for him. This sickness was making him so anxious and, well sick that he didn't seem to care for his pelt anymore. When he was finally sleeping she padded out. It was a miracle that she hadn't caught it yet.
indent Willowpaw padded out and jumped when Thornpaw bumped into her. "Take a mouse to Galestar." She meowed. "Don't breath in his den though." She said and walked off, leaving the apprentice confused. "Wolfspirit I think I know how it's spread!" She meowed excitedly, stopping in her tracks when the scent of death reached her nose. Oh no. She raced forward and was met with the sight of a dead Rainclaw, Icestone and Berrypaw. "Where did I go wrong?" "There was noth--" He ignored her and raced out. "Wolfspirit I need help!" She called after him, racing out as well. She came out in time to see her mentor's tail disappearing. She couldn't go after him, her clan needed her. Wolfspirit had taught her to help her clan no matter the cost or situation.
▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇
indent Willowpaw herded the sick cats to the medicine cat den which was filling up frighteningly fast. I can't do this alone! Starclan help me! She pleaded and collapsed with exhaustion. The last thing she heard were gasps of fear from the sick cats. And of why wouldn't they gasp? They had every right to be afraid. The only one who knew herbs (who hadn't run away) collapsed. What was to happen to them?
▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇
indent "What?" She said sleepily, blinking her eyes open. "Wolfspirit! You're back!" The gray tom nodded and his eyes smiled. He walked to her and licked her between the ears. "Of course Willowpaw. You were brilliant." He meowed and dropped a mouse in front of her. "How long--" "A moon. I was worried that I was going to have to take on another apprentice." Wolfspirit meowed, curling his tail around his paws. "You're going to have to tell me what you did. Your actions saved the lives of countless cats. Galestar; although a bit embarrassed at how he acted around you when you went to help him, is healthy. Only a pawful of cats passed on to Starclan. I am proud to call you my apprentice." He meowed to an awestruck Willowpaw. She had saved them? By herself? Willowpaw purred and ripped into the mouse in front of her. "I'm sorry about Rainclaw." "No I'm sorry. I let my emotions get to me. I focused on one cat and not our clan. Thank you for stepping up to the challenge." "I don't think the sickness had a name you know... But I'm glad it's gone." Hopefully for a long, long time. Wolfspirit stood and flicked his tail for her to follow as he padded out of the den. Willowpaw stood up and, leaving her mouse followed him out. She was greeted with the clan cheering for her. "Well done Willowpaw. Starclan must be proud to have such a cat walking with them."▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ I'm not much of an auditioner but I thought I'd give this a try. Hope this was good. (could someone give me some feedback. Through a PM or profile comment? I'd like to know how I did.) (=

I'm infected! --------------------------------------- Shiftstar Berrypaw Rainclaw Icestone
Willowpaw She breathed heavilyin her nest, with half open eyes, the dim light blinking in on her, she could hear the coughs of her sick clanmates, she hated to admit it. But had forced the cat's to join herself in the Medicine Cat Den, her tail tip twitched, where was her Mento- oh yea. Now she remembered, Oceanmist was off gathering herbs, herbs that may potentially help heal the sickened creatures that surronded her. Willowpaw's body shook a bit, as she got up shakily, overwhelmed by this. No, stay calm she thought, and her ear's twiched as her name was called, she skidded out of the den quickly, to see her Mentor had returned with the herbs, but she was speaking with another warrior, the herbs layed by her paws. Willowpaw's determined expression was perched upon her face, as she padded over to her Mentor, and spoke slowly, calmly, without anxiety, nor hesitation. "Yes, Oceanmist?" she mewed.
"The leader, Shiftstar, has also fallen ill. I want you to make sure she stays in her den. Our den is already full" mewed Oceanmist, suprise didn't come to her that easily, Willowpaw already knew that the clan was falling ill. What if she's on her last life...? that thought didn't seem to bother her suddenly, Shiftstar was young... correct? Well, she had been Leader as far as to when Willowpaw was born, so not that young. Her tail tip twitched. "On it" she mewed, and disappeared into the Leader's den. "Hey, Shiftstar" she said kindly, she could smell the sickness, it wrecked the air around her. Tainting it. "Hello, young warrior" mewed the female. "I'm a- nevermind" she said, shaking her head a bit. "Anyhow, Shiftstar. Uhm.. what're your symptoms?" Willowpaw asked, her ear's twitching, straining to hear what the tortoise-shell would say.
"Tight-chest....my stomach hurts..it's really got my stressed out....and I think my temperatures high." mewed the Leader, Willowpaw padded over, and took the female's temperture, then stepped back. "I'll go get you some herbs for that, Oceanmist just returned with some" Willowpaw mewed, and padded off, exiting the den quickly, like a snake. Slipping out, she padded into the Medicine Den, where her Mentor was giving Icestone some poppy seeds for his anxiety, Icestone just needed some poppy seeds, and to be monitored, then he'd be fine. Oceanmist soon shooed the warrior out of the den, ushering him to leave before he got sick. "Oceanmist.." she was cut off suddenly, as Oceanmist padded over to her. "You see this...?" her Mentor asked, pointing at some chervil. "Yea" she had never really seen the plant before. Her tail tip twitched, "It's used for stomach aches" suddenly, Willowpaw's eye's widened. "I'm gonna need som chervil, and some uhm... poppy seeds, and uh. Juniper berries! Yes, that's it! and uh... feverfew!" Willowpaw said excitedly.
"Of course, here you go" Oceanmist answered, Willowpaw smiled at the blue-gray Medicine Cat, as she got the herbs pushed towards her, and her Mentor went on to treat Berrypaw of his stomach issues. She picked the herbs up in her maw, and slipped away again, as if she were slime. Entering the Leader's den again. "I'm here." she mewed, a bounce to her step, and quickly sprinted over to her. "Take this" she mewed, giving her the juniper berries, chervil, and feverfew. Watching as the Leader took the medicine, and then pushed some poppy seeds over to her. "I waited those for last, so you didn't fall asleep before you finished" mewed the female, smiling. "I'm feeling better already." purred Shiftstar, Willowpaw's eyes widened in excitement, as the Leader took the poppy seeds and dosed off. She rushed out of the den, towards Oceanmist. "I figured it out! I figured it out!" Willowpaw said excitedly at her Mentor.
It's so corny. Lol, but, there you go.

Update- Deadline is July 12h. We have already chosen Valiantstride as deputy since Echo's posted that audition long ago and we need to move the BC storyline along. We also needed the new deputy before the Gathering, considering Shadestripe had already died and Pebbleheart had already decided to retire.
Every other position is still open!
