Mine was the Lunar Cloak (at the time, it was expensive). Our only sources of gold were vending, fishing, posting, and polling - very limited, but still fun.

death whisper, although admittedly it was back in the day when it was around 200,000 gold. compared to how much it was worth now, it was a pretty good investment when i sold it finally for over 800,000 biggrin
but a stupid one was when i bought Fausto's Bottle for nearly 300,000 and sold it for only 150,000 gold

Although they aren't considered pricy now, my first "expensive" quest was for fairy wings, in 2004. :3

Not the most pricey, but the first one was probably the Masquerade item. I only got it as I made a deal with a friend (I have paid for half the price and traded some items and since we were friends, it was like getting a discount), I sold it in order to buy three items or my other account that is hardly ever used, I miss it now. emo
OMG, the most pricey item I bought and was really proud and was only able to get with the help of my friends is the Orikage item. I was extremely happy about it, but hadn't used it in awhile as that too was for the other account, but transferred it over to this one.

I bought Inari's Beads a few years back at 200k. I sold it recently for 980k.

Mine was Darkened Cello. It was at least 30K-40K when I bought it a few years ago.

Welll. Waaay back when I first started here on my first account, god this was back in like, 2003, when this was still just a message board called Go-Gaia.
Anyways, some of the nicest most high quality items available at the time were the kimonos and yukatas. It took me forever to afford it, because I was so bad at gaining money back then, but I managed to get a purple yukata. I was super psyched about it.

oddly enough,the wraith cloak.It caught my eye and the price was expensive for me lol,that was pricey for me...first MC i grabbed though was wild ******** yea Fenrir.

Back in the day the Angelic Sash was actually acquirable and I adored it.
Inflation's a b***h because even then it was expensive as crap.
