THIS GAME IS REALLY GREAT AND CAN BE EVER GREATER IF WE HAD MORE OF A COMMUNITY. PLEASE CHECK THIS GAME OUT AND GIVE IT A CHANCE, IT CAN APPEAL TO ALMOST EVERY TYPE OF MMORPG GAMER!!!
Now, it is a roleplaying game. The whole game was originally centered around roleplaying, but since the game has died down a lot since the Open Beta release, not as many people play with means not as many roleplayers. But there are still a decent amount of them left.

Now the game might be extremely confusing at the start, but it's really not hard at all. Once you get the hang of it, you will understand what to do right away every time you log on.

Law Enforcement Department (LED) [BLUE ARMOR]: These are basically the police of the game. In this faction you will have to follow certain rules that keep the faction organized and neat. They have a nice base/headquarters on NYC-Ground Zero, and a prison keep on DeMorgan's Castle. They have a faction-only ability to use stunner-type guns that allow them to subdue and arrest foes. At Rank 2 you get the ability to arrest I believe. (Could have changed since I don't play LED) THIS IS A VERY GOOD FACTION TO START OUT AS.

Freedom Defense Corps. (FDC) [GREEN ARMOR]: The military faction of the game. They are in a very nice alliance with LED. They follow VERY strict rules and regulation, and even have their own base called DSS Yukon, a spaceship that only FDC members can access.. If you want nice guidance and people to play with all the time, and want the best military RP experience, this is your faction. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY GREAT FACTION TO START OUT AS.

Mercenaries of the Blood (MOTB) [GREEN AND PURPLE ARMOR]: This is a very loose faction in the terms of what you want to do, and when you want to do it. MOTB is ruthless faction which houses some of the most excellent combatants in the game. In this faction, it's all about the money. Mercenaries can accept bounty-like contracts that other players create and post. The most common way to play MOTB is to be a good fighter, get into a cell (A guild like system), then accept and complete contracts as a team.
THIS IS PROBABLY THE WORST FACTION TO START OUT AS. IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND YOU'RE NOT GOOD AT FIGHTING, YOU WILL HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO FUN.

Brotherhood of Shadows (BoS) [RED ARMOR]: This faction is Semi-Loose all about producing and selling drugs for good money. This is the only faction that has the ability to create drugs. Most of the time, BoS also has very good combatants and aren't afraid to kill you if you make the wrong move, or say the wrong thing.

Guardians of Mankind (GoM) [GREEN AND GOLD ARMOR]: This faction is supposed to be about keeping the peace. It sports a high player base, and some very good attributes. They pay less for clones, they regain more Bio-Energy and Health when they finish cloning, and can even use the Medical Terminals for FREE. This is also a fairly loose faction as well.

The main purpose of this faction is to mine, and produce items for the community of FoM to buy off the market terminals. If done right, you can become very wealthy within this faction. This faction gets extra perks which makes it cheaper to produce items. Keep in mind, the game is open PvP everywhere and anytime, so EC also has the ability to start wars and such for fun.

Colonization and Mining Guild (CMG) [BROWN ARMOR]: A faction focused all around economics (Eco). The main purpose of this faction is to mine, and produce items for the community of FoM to buy off the market terminals. If done right, you can become very wealthy within this faction. This faction gets extra perks which makes it cheaper to mine materials. Keep in mind, the game is open PvP everywhere and anytime, so CMG also has the ability to start wars and such for fun.

Vortex Inc. (VI) [BLACK AND DARK GREEN ARMOR]: This faction is basically dead. There are not enough active players in this faction to pay it any attention. It's basically the same idea as the other corporations, except that they have perks that make it cheaper to transport items and produce weapons.
NOT RECOMMENDED DUE TO LOW PLAYER-BASE.

Now, go to a market terminal, and the basic gear you will need is.. BUY ALL OF THESE NORMAL QUALITY (MQ) Your factions prime gear, Infensus or Pythica armor set (MQ). If possible, instead of leg-pads, buy a Resistance Amplifier (MQ) under the Implants section (When you can finally afford it, buy a High Quality Res Amp). For weapons, use a Linner PP7 (MQ), a DOA (MQ), or an Orbit (MQ). Buy the ammo for one of these weapons (MQ) as well. For dodging shots, use 1 Pizza (MQ) and 1 Burger (MQ) which you can buy under the Food section. Under Medication, buy Normal Medkits (MQ) or Battle Medkits (MQ).
