Mygith wandered about the fish market, eying the different kinda of fish that were for sale. His stomach rumbled lightly as he thought of all the different kinds of sushii this could all be made into. The thought of so much sushii caused his tiny nub of a tail to flick. The storm the day feborehad him crouched under the bed all day trying to drownd out the loud crashing sound in terror. He hadn't eaten much so the thought of being able to gorge himself with the flavors of fish, nori, and rice was greatly appealing to him at the moment. With a disappointed sigh, he made his way from the market. There was a sushii joint he'd found not too far from the market which for him just meant the fish was extra fresh there, and that was always a plus.

Standing just outside the market, Orabella huffed, lifting her paw to slide her penguin hat from her head. Her light pink locks were mussed and tangled from being hidden for so long. Looking at all the bustling people, watching them go about their business with such light hearted faces, almost coaxed her forward. Her paw hovered a moment before setting back on the ground, her tiny tail flicking.
"Oh, who cares..." Turning around, she headed back to the small sushi restaurant she'd seen. She had been debating on buying some fish to make her own dinner. Which was pointless, as she currently lived alone. Flattening her hair with a paw, she pushed through the doors, offering small smiles to those she passed as she looked for a place to sit. Twisting her hat in her paws, she chewed her lip. Everyone in here had someone to sit with, someone to talk to, and here she was, odd one out, with not even an imaginary friend.
Sighing again, she just stood there, almost frozen, as she searched for a place to sit without being in anyone's way.

Pushing through the doors of the restaurant, he glanced about. Great.. he thought to himself. Loads of happy smiling paired off faces. He nearly groaned as he looked around. There was only one table left, a small booth in the corner meant to seat two. There was one individual waiting ahead of him too.. probably waiting for her companion he suspected. As a hostess drew near, she glanced from him then to the female ahead of him and smiled a knowing sort of smile. Ugh.. he thought once more.
"Table for two?" The hostess asked before waving them forward without even waiting for their replies. "I hope a booth's fine."
He froze, looking a bit lost. Did the hostess honestly think that they had come in together? Risking being noticed, he looked at the stranger before him and blinked rather dumbfoundedly.

As the hostess came forward, the young bear opened her mouth to speak. Though that quickly changed as she looked from her to a spot behind her and said something about two of them. Blinking, honestly confused, she turned to see what the other female had been looking at.
With her eyes landing on the male behind her, she stammered a moment, quite unsure of how to remedy this situation. She didn't want to be rude and make a scene by not sitting when she'd been standing here for a while. Offering him the best smile she could manage at the moment, she spoke softly, "Since there is only one table left.. we can share it. If you d-don't mind."

His shoulders gave a shrug and he looked at the booth for a long hard moment before finally opening his mouth to speak. "I wouldn't want you to risk whom ever you're meeting getting angry..." He looked at the hosted and nearly snorted at her assumptions. "But if you're not suspecting anyone I suppose I wouldn't mind much.." He seemed gruff as he spoke, rough around the edges and a bit unkind, like the world had turned it's back on him and he in turn had turned his back on the world.
He was really too hungry to care at the moment. All he wanted was a nice bowl of sup and lots and lots of sushi. If he had to play nice.. or well nice enough to quietly sit and eat, he supposed he could this once. After all.. it wasn't like that confounded annoying penguin was around or that slyly erotic female was anywhere close by so it wasn't like he was worried about being disturbed too much. And what the hell? Maybe this female wouldn't insist on cuddling up and droning on and on and on about how fluffy he was.

As he shrugged, she gave a tiny snort, rolling her eyes. It was only after she'd done that she realized that he might take such reactions the wrong way. She'd actually found it funny that he'd assume someone would be meeting her. True, she was normally very sweet natured, but she'd been left alone for so long. She supposed her sudden slight case of cynicism was to be expected. However, she swallowed it and gave a halfhearted smile. "Nope. My parents are off doing only the gods know what, so it's just me for a while," she said, taking his gruff demeanor in stride. If he was trying to get rid of her by being short, he'd have to work harder than that. She was all too used to people like him--or, at least, like how he seemed to be.
Turning to the hostess, she nodded. "Okay. We'll take that last booth." Silently, she followed her to their table, sliding in on one side, dropping her hat down on the chair beside her. Smiling, she thanked the woman for their menus and immediately opened hers. 'This is going to be awkward,' she thought to herself, chewing her lower lip as she mulled over what she'd want.
"Mmm... I know I want... maybe miso soup. Or..! Oooohhh~" She was, at the moment, completely lost in her own mind, trying to make a decision. Therefore, she didn't realize she was speaking out loud. Making an utter fool of herself in front of a stranger.

Following the female to the booth, he slid in on the opposite side and sat, promptly picking up the menu, he looked over the selection. Soup was a must.. especially on a day like today.. he sushi would be well welcomed too. Folding his menu, he set it down. Her audible thought process was enough to draw a deep chuckle from him. It was an almost awkward sound coming from him as his features softened slightly. It'd been a long while since he'd been in the company of another polar bear, let alone a female one.. not since her...
Closing his eyes, he lifted his menu once again before settling to stare at it. Anything would be better now than to think on that. He'd settle for almost any sort of interruption to save his mind the madness of seeing that vision again. Almost as if on Que, a waiter walked over pad in hand and pen at the ready.
"Are we ready to order yet?" He asked looking over the two noodles.

The chuckle that came from him surprised her, and she stopped mid-sentence. Lifting her eyes from her own menu, she focused them on him. He'd looked so.. grumpy earlier. And now that he'd actually laughed, he looked more inviting. Like he was someone she might be able to have a nice conversation with, stranger or not. Setting her menu down, completely forgetting that she was supposed to be trying to figure out what she wanted, she cast a playful glare at him. "Was that at me?" She teased, her darker pink wings fluttering as she folded them tightly to her back.
Just as she was about to prod him again, the waiter came to the edge of their booth. Giving a small laugh of her own, she looked at the male across from her a moment before turning her attention back to the wait staff. "Just bring us two of everything, okay? We're really hungry." She gave her sweetest smile to him, waiting for him to shake off his wide eyed expression and walk off. Flicking her ears and tail, she looked back to him, that smile still on her lips. "I really hope you're hungry enough to sit here and eat a lot of this with me," she joked, though she was partially serious.
"That reminds me... if we're gonna sit here and eat together, I think we should at least know each other's names." With that, she lifted a paw, holding it out across the table to him. "My name's Orabella Snowfrost, but you can call me Bella," she grinned, waiting for him to respond.

He ignored her initial prod for the time being and looked at the waiter as he shook the shock of the order off. "Sake... keep it coming till I give the word to stop, you hear?" It had been almost two years since he'd had a drink and not thought on that.. but with the current company, he found himself needing to take the edge off his mind. Returning to the female before him he offered a half hearted smile that faded as soon as it had come and nodded slightly. "It was more my amusement at your audible thought process.. and as for names... I suppose it'd be a good idea to be at least a little cordial." He watched her a moment as she held out her paw to him. Taking it he shook it quickly and let it go. "I'm Mygith.."

Frowning slightly, she flicked her little tail. This guy was really confusing. He seemed nice enough, but it looked like he had a problem. And not just any problem, but on with her. As he shook her paw, retracting his own like she was made of some nasty, corrosive material, her ears fell on her head. Perhaps she should have asked their waiter if this restaurant had hard liquor. Sake was all well and good, but she didn't think it could make her forget the person sitting right in front of her. Well... she didn't necessarily want to forget him, just a bit of his attitude.
"Mygith, hm?" She wanted to say more, but she didn't want to chance upsetting him. Or him getting up and walking out. Especially since she just wanted to talk. After all, she didn't really know anyone around here.
Not really sure about the whole situation at the moment, she simply busied herself with watching the patrons of the joint. There were wait staff scuttling around, chefs yelling in the kitchens, sushi chefs slapping knives and bamboo rollers around as they worked. It was a veritable mad house, and yet she was calm. Which was weird, considering she still wanted to talk to her companion for the time being, but she had no clue what to say.
....Why did meeting new people have to be so hard?...

He watched her a moment longer in silence, only the waiter bringing the sake distracting him, then as soon as he'd taken a few gulps, his red eyes fell on her once more. "Well Bella, what brings you so very far from the cold north?" He asked, a rather nicer edge to it as he spoke. As the liquor settled in his rough edge seemed to smooth but only so much. It wasn't like he was breaking into a sobbing mess, no... he wasn't that far drunk. In fact he wasn't more than feeling the warm biz begin at the moment. Setting the cup back down after another drink, he waited for her answer, his tail flicking lightly. She looked like she was avoiding him, not that he hadn't given her a reason to. Oh he'd seemed plenty unwelcoming so far. Frowning he reached out and tapped her paw lightly. "It's not your fault you know... I'm just... difficult to please." He managed with a slight gruff chuckle.

She almost jumped when he spoke to her. Almost. But she didn't. Instead, she turned to him again, offering a small smile. "My parents are here on business," she said smoothly, "But I think we'll be here a while." Her fingers drummed on the side of her own paw. With that little bit of liquor in him, he was already settling down. Becoming more approachable. But there was still that way he looked at her. Like she was reminding him of something that made him very, very uncomfortable. It was... odd, to say the least. Yet she acted like nothing was wrong. Like his stare wasn't causing her curiosity to rear its head, and even offered polite dinner conversation. Even though their food wasn't here yet. "So, what about you? Here for a vacation or something like that?"
Giving a delicate shrug, she watched as he reached toward her, tapping her paw before speaking again. Unable to help herself, she laughed. Her mind--much like her mother's would have--turned that comment completely on its head, perverting it. Shaking her head, she grinned, waving away her silly moment. "Oh, no," she began, placing her paws back on the table, "it's all right. I was just... worried that I was bothering you, I suppose."

Mygith frowned. "That is something best left in it's shadows." He stated knocking back yet another cup of Saki. He sat back in his seat, drawing himself further into himself before he heard her next statement. "No.. You weren't really bothering me.. more of a solid reminder." His tone was sorrowful, laced with pain as he took yet another drink in silence for a while.

Upon his frown, Bella blinked. His demeanor changed again. Back to that shadowed, solemn state from which he'd just broken out of. Frowning herself, she leaned over the table, staring at him for a moment.
"Miss?"
Jumping slightly, she looked up to the waiter, bringing the first of their order to the table. She leaned back, allowing him to set the plates down. "Thank you," she paused, looking back over to Mygith before toward the staff again, "and could you bring us two more bottles of sake? I think we're gonna need them." As he ran off to fulfill her newest order, she turned back to him.
"Okay, so... skipping over all that since it's none of my business, how do you like it here so far?" To be polite, she removed her eyes from him as she waited for him to respond. She busied herself with looking over the few plates the waiter had set before them. There were a few spring rolls, some thin slices of pickled eel, various small filets of fish, and a few other starter niblets. The presentation was pretty, too. And apparently the entire staff thought they were a couple because two of the sushi rolls were arranged into a small set of interlocking hearts. At least it was a nice gesture. She'd have to remember to tip the chef that had done that before she left.

He gave a dull nod and idly picked up some of the eel, putting it in his mouth. He chewed in silence a little while longer before giving a small shrug. "It's not too terribly bad I suppose." He could see she was trying to draw the conversation to something else. He was in his own way grateful for this. "It's warmer by far.. that's for sure. And it's difficult to find any real good fish at any place you go to dine out.. This being one of the small few that seems to get it right." He took another drink, setting his cup aside and pushing the bottle to sit beside the cup. Luckily places like this gave you water too. Picking up the icee water, he took a sip, allowing his buzz to warm him to a less than shadowed place.
