 Keetah was excited. That was normal for her. But this time was different, special. This time the world was WHITE! There was snow on the ground and icicles hanging from the trees. And everything smelled clean and wonderful and if she couldn't have flowers, well, this was quite a treat.
Bounding about in the meadow, enjoying the crunch of snow under her hooves, Keetah romped and played and turned the pristine snow into churned up slush. She didn't care, this was new and wonderful!
Then she noticed she wasn't alone. Another small mare had come to the meadow. Keetah's eyes lit up with excitement and she dashed towards the newcomer. Her mouth open in a wide smile, "Hi! I'm Keetah!"

 Laeh waddled around the snow, rolling it into balls to make snowmen. She hummed happily and pranced around, kicking snow about with each stop. She was beginning to warm up to winter. She couldn't go on as many adventures as she liked since it was so cold, but the snow was fun to play in and everything sparkled so magically.
Laeh turned around at the sound of a voice and smiled. "Hey there! I'm Laeh!" She moved while she spoke, still rolling the snow into balls. "What are you doing around here? Treasure hunting? Yeti hunting?"

Bouncing with joy at having found someone who wanted to talk with her, "I am playing in the snow because snow is fun and white and cold and sparkles and melts when you put it in your mouth and then it's water but it's still cold and it puffs into the air like it's snowing again if you can kick it just right and it's fun but I don't know about treasure yeti and hunting and what are treasure yeti are they like blue berries which are berries that are blue only yeti that are treasure but I don't know what a yeti is or if it's good to eat but I would like to try to find something good to eat because it is cold and all the grass is brown and tastes like dirt and I don't think that is good to eat do you think it is good to eat or do you eat snow too but snow doesn't really seem like eating because it's like drinking and I'm still hungry but I want to play with the snow because it is new and here and I havn't played with it before."
If she breathed during that entire rambling splurt of though, it was hard to notice. But the grin sparkled in her overly large eyes as she took a moment for Laeh to answer her questions.

For the first time in her life, Laeh didn't know what to say for a moment. She was shocked at the little mare's outburst. She seemed so.. normal and quiet. That would teach Laeh for judging a soquili by their coat. She took a few more moments to understand what exactly the mare was trying to say. She managed to grasp a few concepts and decided to go with those.
"I haven't played in the snow before either, this is my first time too. It's cold but I like the surprise!" She dug into the satchel on her side and pulled out a large bunch of berries, dropping them on the ground in front of the mare. "These are edible and quite tasty. I just had a bunch so you can help yourself to these."
Kicking the snow and making it fall again? Laeh couldn't kick very well, but she did have another gift she could use. She concentrated for a moment, tongue sticking out the side of her mouth, before she released the hidden power that all puttis had. A small gust of wind blew past them, kicking up the snow in a flurry and making it fall again. The split second it hung in the air before it fell, it resembled a cloud.

Keetah's eyes get a bit wide, "Ooooh! That's neat! Did you do that? It looked like you did that but how did you do that because there was wind only there wasn't wind and it did a puff and swirl and snow cloud and wow and thank you for the berries they are very nice and it is nice of you to share them and share your snow wind thing cause it is very spiffy and neat and I don't think I can do that but it would be fun if I could and I could make snow puff and swirl and cloud and do you want to be my friend?"
She looks at Leah with her large, ingenious eyes, a smile dancing in them. The berries lay there until she gets an answer, then she munches on the berries as she listens to the other mare.

It took Laeh a little less longer to decipher the mare's long sentence in to a string of singular ones. She laughed, brightly, her eyes closing. Is this what she sounded like when she was excited? No wonder people didn't understand her. A hoof reached up to wipe a tear from her eye, her laughter dulling to a chuckle. "You're very welcome, Keetah."
Laeh smiled at the mare. Friends? Of course. She had few friends, which was why she was always playing by herself. It was fun, but sometimes she got lonely. "I'll be your friend. But you have to promise you'll go on adventures with me."

"Adventures? I've never been on adventures but I could go on adventures. What kind of adventures do you go on and where do you go and what do you do and do you think I'd be any good at adventures even if I've never been on adventures and if I go on adventures will you teach me the wind puff thing is that what adventurers do is make the wind puff and play with snow because snow is fun to play with but it is cold and I don't know if I want to adventure in snow lots but I would like to be your friend and adventure with you." Keetah grins at her new friend, happy and bouncing. She loves the idea of a friend and an adventure. This could be lots of fun.

Now, used to the mare's long sentences, she was able to answer her straight away. "I'm sure you'll be great at adventures! If not I'll teach you. It's easy. You just have to be brave." She nodded, matter of factly. "I can try and teach you the puff thing but I don't really know how I do it. It's just something I was born with."
Laeh looked around at the snow and shivered. She didn't much care for it, either. Bring on Spring! Warmth and flowers; birds and butterflies.
"Hopefully the snow won't be here for much longer. It's fun to play in but it's so cold!" A shiver rippled through her body, emphasizing her point.

Keetah grins and bounces some more. "I can be brave! I won't run or cry or whine or call or anything and then I can go on adventures and you'll go with me and stay with me and not leave?"[[Sorry - that one is a bit short - Keetah muse is taking a break.]]

Laeh laughed and puffed out her chest. "We'll be the bravest adventurers, you and I. Together forever! Or until a dragon eats one of us." She said the last part with a wink and burst out into laughter.

Keetah's eyes go wide. "There's a dragon? I've never met a dragon would it really eat me cause I don't want to be eaten but I might like to meet a dragon are they like dragonflies because dragonflies are pretty and silly and like to land on my nose and it tickles and makes me laugh but a dragonfly couldn't eat me because it's so small and I wouldn't want it to eat me and they don't come out in the winter when there is snow but I think they would be really pretty in the snow because they are such pretty colors but if I saw one I would be brave just like I'll be brave if I see a dragon and we go on adventures."
With a smile, Keetah bounces. She was looking forward to this adventuring thing.
