I just thought this would be a fun thing to do. Whether you're new or old to cosplay, chances are that you've learned (or will learn) something from cosplay. It doesn't necessarily have to be "Life" lesson - as in something that changes your whole view forever... but something that you definitely will keep in mind as you keep cosplaying.
For example, today I learned this:
Sewing, like everything else in life, can make you very angry.

If it is too big to fit through your door, it won't fit on the train that well.

the one thing I've learned above all else from cosplay: fake it til you make it. YOU may know that all the trim on your dress is held on with scotch tape and then band-aids because you ran out of scotch tape, but most people will only care about OMG MADOKA or OMG VRISKA to care, unless you make a show of being nervous. act like everything's all right, and you're good.
also a giant cardboard minigun gets you through crowds REALLY well.

Some of the lessons I learned:
"If you feel a really cold feeling in the back of your head, the mask is not protecting your from volatile fumes."
"Your skin cuts even easier than foam."
"Super-Glue is not to be messed with."
But it all seriousness, I learned how fun cosplaying was and the joy I get from rendering something from fiction, to reality. It made me so happy to be able to walk around as a Quarian, and have everyone else be able to experience it themselves.

From actual crafting, I've learned to always carry around a tube of glue in my purse (especially at cons...). From cosplaying itself, I've learned to take life less seriously. Don't mind what people say. If you're having fun, you're the only one who can take that away from you.
