Pinkie was out in the field grazing. Her trainer, Rory, had let her walk around on her own for a bit to stretch her leg before they went to train. She had to her skills up after all. And he wasn't very far away; he would hear her if she called for him.

A young Rocket of 16 years came out to the field, curious. He didn't see the ponyta's trainer right away, and so found himself staring at her odd coloring for a while in bewilderment before finally noticing Rory. Raising a hand in greeting, he approached his fellow Rocket. "Hey," he called. "That your pokemon out there? How'd you get it?"

The dark blond Rocket had been keeping an eye on his pokemon from behind a near by tree where he was out of her sight. It would do her no good if he was constantly keeping her in her 'ball; she had to get out and walk around. His attention was so focused on his Ponyta that he didn't notice his fellow Rocket spot him.
"Y..yea," Rory cleared his throat. "She was given to me." he replied coming out from behind the tree.

"Really? By who?" the teen asked, his hands in his coat pockets as he casually approached the unfamiliar blonde. "Oh, I'm Grunt Shadow, by the way. Hall monitor, mostly. Nice to meet you.
"You new around here? Haven't seen you before." He laughed, catching Rory's stutter. "You okay? Were you hiding or something? Sorry, I didn't mean to blow your cover. I just wanted to make sure we didn't have a wild ponyta out here."

"I got her from my parents. I'm Rory." he said wiping his hands on his jeans; he was glad to be off duty for the day, it allowed him to be in his 'comfy' clothes. "I just started here at this HQ. Nice to meet you."
He looked over to where Pinkie was still grazing. "I'm just trying to make sure she doesn't see me. Her doctor said it's not good for her to notice my hovering." he said rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh, cool. So are you a trainee, then, Rory?" the grunt asked. He was also about to ask if he'd had the ponyta long, but then the other Rocket mentioned he didn't want her to see him.
"Her doctor? Why, is there something wrong with her?" he asked, lowering his voice and trying to be more inconspicuous now that he knew they were hiding from the fire-type. "Or is she just not used to you yet?"

Rory shook his head. "Nah, I'm a grunt." He watched as his ponyta sniffed the ground and started walking further away.
A haunted look came over his face as he remembered back to the attack they had endured before the move to Kodo. "We were attacked in a forest. She got hurt pretty bad and still hasn't fully recovered."

Pinky wasn't the only pokemon in the field for very long, as two other hooved creatures entered the long grass on the far north end.
They walked leisurely, as if they were there to relax a little, having no ill intent.
the smaller of the two was a Ponyta, his pray pelt painted with splotches of white brown and black, while his mane, rippled with a hut under burn before the higher flamed turned brown.
He was the first to notice the other Ponyta in the field, Blue eyes picking out the familiar sight of fire right away.
He said, ears fanning forward in curiosity as he drew the other pokemon's attention to the Pink ponyta.
The other pokemon was considerably larger, towering over the Ponyta next to him, and now just the body.
The Sawsbuck held up a rack of sharp, and unusually shaped antlers.
He made a soft grunting noise of acknowledgment when the Ponyta spoke, interrupting him from the grazing he had started.
Grael lifted his head high, red eyes narrowing softly as he too spotted the Other Ponyta.
Pastin said, with a hopeful smile. bucking his head up and trotting past Graelhorn to go see the Ponyta, wondering if there was maybe a trainer near by, or if it was wild.

Pinkie was happily chewing on a bit of grass when she smelled something strange near by. It was the scent of other pokemon. She lifted her head to look out around her and spotted the long antlers at the other end of the patch.
Her heart started to race as she began to look around for her trainer. Surely if her Rory noticed the unfamiliar pokemon he would come to her side. She spotted him underneath a tree talking with a Rocket she didn't recognize. She wanted to make a noise to get his attention but she didn't want to draw him away from a potential friend.
She noticed one of the pokemon start to come towards her and decided to hold her ground. She could be strong, she would be strong. Maybe they were friendly?

The Ponyta's ears perked forward as he drew closer to the other pokemon, able to get a better look at her, he was able to tell just how very very pink she was.
Pastin was sure this was a pokemon his trainer would love to meet.
He said with a smile, certainly seeming nice enough.

Pinkie lowered her head slightly, wary of the other Ponyta.
[H...hi.] she replied shyly, taking in the other pokemon.
His coloring was very different from the normal Ponytas she had seen in the contests. The grey pelt and burnt orange flames were very interesting to see. Never had she seen one of her species colored like that. Her Rory would love his coloring.

It wasn't hard to see that she was uneasy as he approached, tilting his head softly when he stopped a comfortable distance, not getting too close, but enough so that he could talk to her.
when she had glanced away, Pastin followed her gaze, wondering what she was looking at. That was when he saw two boys.
He said with new interest.
He didn't want to scare her, so he continued to act calm and friendly.
Behind him the large Sawsbuck was approaching, only much more slowly.
He introduced himself with a pleasant grin.
He curled a front hoof up, glancing backwards at the large antlers that were getting closer.
Grael's eyes were on the humans though, not in a way that indicated that he was angry of felt threatened, it was more of a passive acknowledgment.

The muscles in Pinkie's body began to loosen as she started to recognize that the other Ponyta, Pastin, just wanted to make conversation.
[Y.yeah I have a trainer. The slightly yellow-haired one is my Rory.] she told him as she watched the antlers get closer. [He calls me Pinkie.]
She started to tense up again when she noticed the other pokemon eying the boys, but Pastin had said he was his team mate. Pastin didn't seem too bad, maybe Graelhorn wasn't either?
She stood up with her head held high. [It's nice to meet you, Pastin.]

He couldn't help but grin, He told her, in kind amusement.
When she indicated who her trainer was, he found the man with the hair much like his trainer had,
As he said this he glanced over his shoulder, as if to check for where his trainer was.
Not seeing her, he glanced back to the other Ponyta.
He asked, with a soft curious tilt of his head.

Pinkie smiled at him before looking up at the sky. It looked like there was still time for her to stay in the field before Rory called her back to him.
[We're out here to relax and stretch my legs.] she told him, adjusting her bad back leg. It didn't like it when she stood still for too long. [What about you and your trainer?] she asked, curious about Pastin and his trainer. She wondered if he had ever been in a contest. Her Rory's coordinator would have loved his coloring.
