I don't know much about it, but supposedly you lose everything in your inventory (when you move), but it keeps your saved letters (in the post office)...so, you can store items in those, if you want.
It totally moves your character to your friend's game card, though, so I think you lose everything on your own and can only play (from then on) using their game card.
I wish I could help ya more...never done it before, so I'm not exactly sure of all the details...

Moving in with somebody means your info gets transferred onto the other player's cartridge. If you move, you need access to the cartridge you moved onto in order to play.
When I moved off my boyfriend's and onto my own, the items I was carrying came with me. I haven't attempted moving with a dresser full of items so I don't know if that works or not.

I believe the moving option is in place for if you shared a game with your siblings (or whoever) and after buying your own game you then have the option to move your character onto your shiney new cartridge =3
Moving onto someone else's is no fun because you wouldn't be able t talk to them anymore because you'd both be on the same one crying
That part has always annoyed me =

I've never moved in with anyone before so I can't really help you... All I know is that you lose all your items and that when you want to play with your character you have to use their game card.

You can bring the stuff thats in your inventory, your letters and your saved letters. The stuff that your wearing also comes and your current hairstyle. (I'm talking about if you have nookingtons and get a new hairstyle and move to a new Game Card without Nookingtons.)
