The Bylaws

General Rules
1. Mearhs applying for Knighthood MUST be at Adult stage.
2. Any age from Child up may apply to be a Page.
3. Do not complain if your initial application isn't approved. I will work with you to get it where it needs to be.
4. A Squire will only be Knighted if they've reached their adult stage.
5. Knights, Squires and Pages all have a responsibility to the realm. Please keep that in mind when interacting with the populace.
6. IC fights will be subject to IC punishment. OOC fights will not be tolerated.
7. Anyone may offer quests for completion by Knights, please run it by Dizzy_Kat FIRST. If She approves she will post it to the Noticeboard.
-7a. Knights may offer quests for completion by Pages and Squires. Follow the same procedure and Dizz will post it to the Training Grounds.
8. This thread is an ORP set at the complex. It is open to both members and non-members of the Order.

Questing Rules
1. Only one Quest may be accepted at a time. Previous quests must be completed before a new one is accepted.
2. Quests are to be completed in PRP's unless stated otherwise.
3. Follow each individual quests rules for completion.
4. Points will be awarded by Dizzy_Kat upon successful completion of Quest.

Rank Promotion
PM Dizzy_Kat when you are ready for promotion to the next Rank. You must have the minimum amount of points to be able to move on though you may have more if you wish to delay promotion.
Pages require 15 points(total) to apply for promotion to Squire
Squires require 40 points(total) to apply for promotion to Knight. They must be at Adult stage and they will also go through a ceremonial RP with Sir Roherdiron.
Knights require 100 points(total) to apply for promotion to Champion.

Rules are subject to change at my whim.

The Complex

The Order of the Horn
The Order is built around the motto: We Protect and Serve. They are trained soldiers and body guards who are willing to give their lives in battle to protect their sworn charges.
The Order's Knights are strict upholders of the law and have zero tolerance for criminals. They are welcome to take mates and have families but the Order must always come first.
The guards of the royal family are often chosen from the Order's ranks.

The Order of the Horn is based in a large military complex outside of the capital city. It's set up as an Academy for the training of the Realms military force. Most forms of armed combat are taught here.
The Complex consists of a central courtyard, surrounded on all sides by buildings.

-The first building you encounter contains offices and living suites for the Order's officials. This is where prospective Pages apply for entry and Knights can meet with their superiors and receive Quests. Through a large arched walkway in the middle of the building you can see the courtyard and the buildings beyond.

- To the right of the courtyard extends two long buildings, they house the barracks and classrooms for Archers and Pikemen (Bows and spears/polearms)

- To the Left of the courtyard two more buildings lay symmetrical to the right. They focus on bladed combat using swords and axes as well as blunt force weapons such as maces and flails.

- Straight across from the office building is the largest building, the Main Hall. It contains the Mess Hall as well as a library and study spaces for students. It also has a wing extending off the back that belongs to the crafters guild. There Journeymen blacksmiths and wood crafters make and teach about the weapons and armor all knights use.

-Behind this building is the communal training grounds. It is segmented, providing specialized places for each form of combat to train safely.

The Training Grounds

Sparing!

LESSON: Squires and Knights
-May be Repeated for Credit // 1-3pts-
Where: Training PRP
What: You are practicing your skills against another Squire or Knight. ( chance of facing Sir Roherdiron )
Procedure: This will be a two person dice game! You may request a match against an NPC squire or knight, or face a friend in the guild. First post will be made by Dizzy_Kat announcing the match and randomizing who goes first. Each player will then roll their dice for the round. The higher roll 'hits' that round. Dizzy_Kat will post between rounds announcing the hit.
Squires roll a d12 and win at 10 hits.
Knights roll a d20 and win at 15 hits.
Roddie rolls a d20 and wins at 8 hits

Points:
Squire Vs Squire: 2pt win - 1pt loss
Squire Vs Knight: 3pt win - 1pt loss
Squire VS Roherdiron: 5pt win - 1pt loss
Repeat: May be repeated as many times as you want

Choosing Your Weapon

LESSON: Pages Only
-May be Repeated Once // 1 point-
Where: May be posted in Order of the Horn Thread, or Solo RP.
What: One post detailing your pages choice of weapon. Please provide their reasoning behind it. 3-4 sentence minimum for point.
Optional Prompt: Upon enrollment into the academy you're given a tour of the grounds by a friendly and knowledgeable Knight. After an hour of walking the grounds and learning about the different weapons and fighting styles taught here he leads you to the Armory. Here behind a large barred set of double doors lays a large room filed top to bottom with a wide array of weapons and armor. "Pick them up, try them out. Just be careful. Return to me when you've made you decision." He leaned against the wall, watching you carefully.
Repeat: May repeat once for secondary weapon choice.

Care of Your Weapon

LESSON: Pages Only
-May be Repeated Once // 1 point-
Prerequisite: Choosing Your Weapon
Where: May be posted in Order of the Horn Thread, or Solo RP.
What: One post detailing the care and maintenance of your weapon. 3-4 sentence minimum. Double points may be awarded for exceptional detail and research.
Repeat: May repeat once for secondary weapon choice.

Dummy Training!

LESSON: Pages
-May be Repeated for Credit // 1-2pts-
Prerequisite: Choosing Your Weapon
Where: Solo RP
What: You are practicing your skills against a stuffed dummy on a pole!
Procedure: This will be a solo RP dice game! First post will be your introduction then you will make 10 posts, each time rolling a D10 and rping your results to each roll.
--A roll of 1-10 = You land the hit! Congratulations.
--A roll of 11-20 = Your attack missed, try again.
--You need a total of 6 hits to pass the lesson.
-- You earn 2 pts if you pass, 1pt if you fail.

Example Intro Post:

Attempt #1
Hits Needed: 6

Repeat: You may repeat this quest as many times as you like. If you succeed in your previous attempt your next one requires one more hit to Pass. If you fail your previous attempt the hits required doesn't change.

Defense Training

LESSON: Pages
- May be repeated for credit // 1-2pts-
Prerequisite: Choosing your Weapon
Where: Training PRP
What:: A knight tests your defense skills!
Procedure: PM Dizzy_Kat asking to take the lesson.
I'll set up the initial post and introduce the knight you'll be sparring with. It will usually be an NPC but you MAY end up going against Sir Roherdiron himself. (20% chance)
-- There will be 10 rounds. Pages must block 6 attacks to succeed.
-- First post by Dizzy, this will include the first attack by the Knight (1 d12)
-- Second post by you, roll 1 d20, then edit in your rp response.
-- This will continue till all rounds are finished, draws are considered wins for the Pages.
Repeat: You may repeat this quest 4 times as a Page, adding +1 to blocks required each time you succeed.

The Realm

- Another Order of Knights. Knights are free to come and go.

- A Guild of Assassins. Knights are forbidden here and known members should be arrested on sight.

- The Alchemist's Tower. Knights are to free to come and go. Just be on guard and keep your eyes out for anything suspicious.

- A Lodge and Shrine to the Goddess I'Elen run by the Dispassionate Watchers. Knights are free to come and go.
