It Gets Better Film Maker Commits Suicide

A bit about him taken from his FB:

Quote:
Honest, Introverted Extrovert?
Love conquers hate.

It's been a lengthy, tedious, horrifying, numbing, poignant, beautiful, exuberant, mesmerizing, enlightening, liberating expedition...and the pages keep turning.

I work as a Supplemental Instructor at College of the Sequoias, Intern for The Trevor Project, am a Freelance Guest Speaker and I write. Published once; would like to be published again. I try to stay as active as I can in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender social and political activism.

I actually don't find the humor in it whatsoever like you do, and quite frankly it bothers me that you couldn't contain such an inappropriate response to yourself.

If you don't know his entire story I would personally refrain from making comment, by showing your utter lack of common decency by finding the death of another human being humorous you are showing that if you had done the same thing as a result of whatever life circumstance that you would expect others to be laughing at you and your circumstance during a time that you would be needing the assistance of others more than you can fathom.

I don't understand. "You're a horrible person because you feel love." Loss for words. Can't fathom the stupidity of homophobia.

What the hell is the world coming to? No.... scratch that. Humanity's been dead to me for years.

You ever had someone close to you kill themselves? You ever seen them try their best to make it better only to have their judgement clouded and impaired by all the hatred surrounding them? I am not going to assume you haven't because that would speak ill of me, but I will tell you that just because you assume that the "facts and logic" don't add up doesn't give you the right to create a mockery of such an unfortunate situation. On another note, what "groups" are you talking about? This was on a newsletter and the only things stated were facts. How is that twisting the story? The boy committed suicide, he was a film-maker, and he was troubled for being gay. There was never any mention of all of it having to do with each other, and I only brought it forth for the story in the video and in honor of a fellow fallen LGBT member - for the message he left us in the video. You just assumed. Oh, and on another note, I wouldn't really refer to your actions as "sick;" I would refer to them as childish. If not for this boy then at least for the guild - show some respect; afterall I thought this place was somewhere we could show each other support, not ridicule what we have to share.

i understand where he sees the humor in the situation, and honestly it made me raise and eyebrow when i read the OP because i caught on to it as well. however, yes it is still a teenager commiting suicide, so therefore its not funny at all. it takes alot of stress and emotional wreckage to make someone even legitimatly consider suicide, so i know personally that he must have been going through hell to actually do it.

there is NOTHING funny about it.

Ironic? Yes. Funny? He11 no! Not to sound mean or anything, but saying it's funny is just saying "I will never accept you for who you are".

Suicide is no laughing matter. And the reasons he did such an act doubly so.

Rest in peace. I hope his efforts won't be in vain, and his work in his short teenage life aren't wasted.

I find that terribly sad. And it sends a very sad message, for some it doesn't get better.
